Yupppp first thing I thought of when that last idea was brought up was The Charolette Hornets/New Orleans Pelicans being owned by the NBA until they could find a suitable ownership group. The league did have a controversy during this time where the vetoed a trade that would’ve sent a young Chris Paul to team up with Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol in LA.
Whatever they say the reasoning for the veto was, fans stil believe the league was just salty and took the first opportunity they had to block a “super team” from forming 🙄
