Hello! We live in Japan with two Asian Small-Clawed Otters.
Kotaro: Male, DOB 11/10/2017
Kotaro has a scar on his tail from being bitten by another otter when he was still a baby.
Hana: Female, DOB 11/24/2018

@PTurnner - exactly!! I have the same issue with my 2 puppies. I Always give them each their own, identical (food, treats, toys, etc)-does. not. matter. One always wants what her sister has! 🙄😑 The kind of sad truth of this is: The appeal is in the ‘enjoyment’ of the , not in the itself, so there is disappointment for both parties the instant the theft occurs. ☹️🦦☹️🦦
@@burntumbrage6868 I seem to remember when I had two dogs it would always work like this: You'd give the first toy to the "underdog", the bossy one would snatch it, and then you'd give the second toy to the underdog, and the bossy one would be too busy with having taken the first one to bother with it.
@@Keldor314 - That’s exactly right! Not so much (at this point yet) by my design, but yes, I have seen it work out like that. Not foolproof and often only works initially - mainly with food or goodies, since the issue is organically very temporary 😉. But even a short-lived solution is a good thing! Thank you for spending a bit of your time to offer a suggestion. 🙏🏼😁

When Hana takes his things, he could easily inflict much damage, but he has standards and ethics and he holds himself in check; even to the point of finding another toy with which to entertain himself. Yes, he let's her know he is displeased but he doesn't let it get out of hand. His self restraint acknowledges a noble bearing.
