    appreciate the tips, as someone who started my freshman year of HS I've always been playing catchup with competition, so fully locking in the offseason (training club) has really helped me. I'm going into my senior season this year and looking to be a new england champ, your videos are very helpful to!

    This channel is my fav wrestling channel, you’ve helped me improve my game not just in wrestling but in mma/jujitsu as well. Control is king, position over submission. Thank you brotha for the sick content. 🤞🏼💯

    Utilizing practice is something that Cary Kolat stressed on one video because he said ur gaining strength from drilling a high crotch with maximum effort for example, but he said you gain nothing from the practice if you aren't putting your heart and soul into it

    For cardio, I'm pretty sure their was a study that was conducted that showed that doing HIIT cardio, around 90% of your max heart rate and to do active recovery at 75% for a certain period of time is one of the best ways to improve endurance for wrestling.

    I really enjoyed the tips. I have 2 questions.
    1. Is the "wrestling grind" necessary for practice? Would performance in competition improve if wrestling practice was taken at a slower pace, similar to a jiu-jitsu practice, and conditioning was done in separate sessions to make up for the lack of intensity during practice?
    2. Is drilling moves for numbers a good or suboptimal way of training? I've heard mixed opinions on drilling moves for numbers and I would value your input on this.

    • @ironfaithwrestling
      @ironfaithwrestling  5 місяців тому

      @@wesleywong2144 as long as the reps are quality reps getting in more reps is helpful for muscle memory. Getting reps with more resistance will be very beneficial as well. You also don’t have to grind it out all the time.

    I don't have the option to wrestle year round. Is it worth joining my local jiu-jitsu or judo academy during the off season? Which of the two is better?

  • @billgrubb2799
    @billgrubb2799 5 місяців тому +6

    Sounds like a more efficient way to practice. Instead of wasting time on a bunch of moves, concentrate on key moves and get good at them. That would make more sense, right?

    • @ironfaithwrestling
      @ironfaithwrestling  5 місяців тому +6

      @@billgrubb2799 yes especially for offense, for defensive techniques you will need a wider range given your opponent will hit a variety of shots

    How do I deal with a coach thats a absolute idiot
    Who just pushes conditioning, barely any technique
    Runs short practices
    Makes you run hills for an hour before every practice
    Barely enforces stretching and makes you go live for straight 15 minutes 0 breaks
    What would I do at this situation
    Toughest people get out drained from that practice and cant do anything

    NO medals for the US in Greco-Roman Wrestling at the Olympics! 2 gold medals in femals wrestling so far! And, I think good chace for medals in male freestyle wrestling!!!
    BUT NO Russian and Belorussian wrestlers were allowed to compete at this Olympics!! Therefore the level of competition is MUCH lower than usual!!!! ))))))))))))))))
