- When I was growing up the standard "financial advice" was, "work hard, and save money." While that might have worked 50+ years ago, sadly it no longer does. At least, not the way you might think.
In today's video, I am comparing gold and silver v.s. cash and showing which one is more valuable if you save it over time. The answers might surprise you, depending on your financial IQ.
I have been investing in gold and silver for only about a year and a half and I am very pleased with the results. I'm not going to spoil it all here, you'll have to watch the full video to get the gist of it, but it is definitely something you might want to look into if you want to follow that age old advice of working hard and saving money.

Hi Michael. I don't know if you prefer Mike or Michael, sorry. I am 56 years of age, and I agree that working and 'saving' is not the formula for financial success, as I have been doing for years. Looking at retirement around the corner, I have learned that 401Ks/IRA/saving will not carry me through retirement to an old age if a major medical issue comes up during retirement. I found you after reading and watching others talk about how metals are and are not good investments. I am going into this idea with the objective of not investing, but I want a dollar to be worth a future dollar when I need it. Thank you for an honest opinion for us average middle America working people.
Either Mike or Michael is fine, people call me both and I'm good with it 👌 Its good that you are thinking about it now, instead of well into retirement like your co worker. I strongly believe gold and silver will always be more valuable than paper money, as it has been money now for millenia and our paper only a couple hundred years. It's also recognized world wide as money whereas one day dollars may not be. Glad the video could help and you found it!

That is not correct! That is false and people say that because it helps pump up the price. Although it is getting harder to get your hands on physical at this moment but you still can if you’re willing to wait a little bit

Although I largely agree with you, you forgot in your 1997 analysis to consider the premiums on the physical gold and silver you purchased. Also, you are not going to find fractional gold that precise either. The smaller the fractional gold, the higher the relative premium. Also consider that "looking back" is a bad predictor of moving forward. If I wanted to play that game, I could tell you that $1,000 of Aapl stock in 1997 would be worth $204,000 today. Kind of kicks the yellow metal right in the teeth. I love Gold and Silver but they are barely good at tracking inflation much of the time. Add the premiums and you may not even do that consistently.
As far as I'm concerned the gold and silver in my possession will always be worth more than its dollar counterpart, and that alone makes it worth buying IMO.
This is why it's important to diversify our assets! :)
