- Despite ongoing talks in Cairo for a ceasefire, Palestinians in Gaza remain cautious due to intense bombing. Air attacks and shelling have hit Rafah and eastern Gaza. Over 34 were killed, 26 from Rafah. Many are trapped under rubble; rescue efforts hindered. Residents say safety is impossible in a war zone.

Someone explained why 1 percent population loss is being called genocide. The population growth of Palestinians is near 4 percent, which still nets 3 percent overall increase in population.

This war that Israel has been waging for months now has not brought any tangible results. Not in Gaza nor in the North. In the meantime most of the hostages are no longer alive. Netanyahu stopped talking about "total victory" which was a manipulation in the first place. I believe Israel has lost this war. The Rafah invasion shouldn't happen. It won't change a lot except incurring additional suffering for Palestinians. Hamas is still operating. And not only in Rafah, I think.
Same in the Westbank. They have arrested people, among them Hamas militants (what has that accomplished), destroyed houses, enabled/enabling settler violence for months.
I don't agree. A lot of Hamas soldiers have been killed, Israel sent a message as well. Plus, with this new found control, they can better control Gaza before they give it up to a trust worthy government later down the line. They also got back a pretty decent amount of hostages.
The reality is, these terror groups will pop up again and again. If Hamas is eliminated, another group will try the same thing down the line. The best thing Israel can do is help support a healthy government in the first place. The new citizens of Palestine won't elect another terror group to lead them most likely.
As a rule of thumb, people who win wars dont cry to the UN and invent fake massacres
