- As hyped up as we were for chaotic gays, #OnlyFriendsEP1 was bit underwhelming for us. But it may be because we’re still coming down from the high of watching #RedWhiteAndRoyalBlue right before. 🥲 It was v spicy and chaotic, but still felt like it was missing something.
It's super entertaining and satisfying seeing our GMMTV favs in these spicy and explicit sex scenes, but hopefully the show has more to offer beyond that. The story hasn't gripped us so far, but hopefully things improve moving forward.

after only reading the description (i just started the reaction) im surprised that you were underwhelmed. it exceeded my expectations personally... and RWARB was underwhelming to me. hahaha but that could be because i read the book. so i was unfortunately comparing. but i still liked the movie just not as much as the book. and this first episode did a lot more than most first eps un terms of setting up the characters and their personalities and interests... so i am super impressed and excited for future eps! edit: about first smoking, did you guys see Not Me? first's character yok smoked in that show as well. :) its my favorite BL ever. haha
Oooo yeah!!! I think Only Friends felt underwhelming compared to RWRB for us for the same reasons that you felt underwhelmed about RWRB compared to the novel.
Can’t help but compare the two experiences after the first one left such a good impression. But it doesn’t make the latter experience bad haha. I don’t think Only Friends is bad, it just didn’t make us feel the way we felt after watching RWRB. Unfair comparison of course, but yah it was just bad timing haha. I’m sure we’ll enjoy Only Friends a lot more the more we watch and the more our RWRB high dies down haha.
I think we would have had a completely different experience with Only Friends if we had watched it first haha. The same way you might have experienced the RWRB movie differently if you hadn’t read the book haha.
Although with RWRB I can understand the disappointment as a reader because I heard they left out a lot of things that were in the book.
Either way I’m looking forward to more chaos and drama with Only Friends! I think we just need more time with it haha.

It's very normal to change your mind when you are already quite far along. Things can feel great but then not and then you can just stop. There are no rules. No matter what the reason it is always ok to change your mind.
And especially when it's new, like for Mew who is a virgin, you might have to go further and further for a while before going all the way.
And people really can feel like doing it, like when you're with "straight" people they can be really into it or when you invite someone to a threesome or something but then when you are getting to it and even completely naked they can change their mind and it's great when they say stop then.
I am very happy with people when they do, the last thing I want is someone who's not ready to do it just because they feel bad about stopping me.
Like even in a relationship it's always ok to change your mind and stop whenever. And you do not even owe someone an explanation.
Totally agree. After rewatching it seems that Mew was into it until things really started to heat up and he realized that he wasn’t ready. This is exactly what I said in the video haha.
Ha Ha To be honest, I wasn’t expecting this level of heat from GMMTV. It kinda reminds me of Queer as Folks 😅 and I’m not complaining (I’m also surprised by 13+ rating in my country these days😅)

So Top and Ray likes Mew. Sand is annoyed with Ray. Boston and Top are Fboys. Nicks becomes F buddies with Boston. Mew likes Top. Top and Boston slept together and will start being F buddies while Top is dating/pursuing Mew. Sand and Ray will probably become F buddies too. and Boston is gonna be sleeping around with Top and Nick and whoever else if he pleases. And they’re all in the same friend circle basically wxcept for Sand and Nick……… baby this show is messy and toxic and ima watch every single second of it. All ima say is that I hope they all be safe and clean and make sure they using condoms each time 😂😂😂🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️

I like the plot, and how it is presented, but I am really getting repulsed by the toxicity of some of the character.. T_T
and it's not really an objectively bad thing because they are meant to be toxic, and the actors are portraying it extremely well. Especially Boston, considering I love Neo.

HAHAHA it was chaotic for sure. Drake x Neo was NOT in my bingo cards LOLOL so that was a fun surprise lmao. Imma need the overall story to be a little more interesting tho so we'll see how things go moving forward haha.

This was a great first episode it introduced the characters very well and made me really interested to continue with all the different stories. Boston and Ray seem very put out jealous of Top and Mew respectively so that will be very juicy love square. Neo being slut supreme is shocking wonder if they will have a guest role every episode(like Drake) for him to bust down with😂I think Sand will gradually succumb to wealthy alcoholic Nick, he’ll either want to save him or earn a f#%k ton of money off him. The pairings of Boston and love struck Nick was giving big time and yet to be seen the GL couple I think may be already established as (forget her name)was wearing a red bracelet at the bar.
All and all I loved this first episode don’t know what you were expecting and why it seemed to be lacking for you guys. Remember it’s episode no1 they aren’t going to give you everything right out the gate like a 2 hour movie will so not a fair comparison to RW&RB.
Yep agreed it's not a fair comparison between the two, which is why it was harder for us to enjoy this first episode since we're still coming down from the high of watching RWRB, which isn't Only Friends' fault haha. We'll probably enjoy this show more once the RWRB high wears off and this show has had more time to establish the story and the characters.
I guess after watching RWRB we just wanted to feel the way we felt when we watched that movie, which made us more critical when we watched this episode since it's completely different. But again it's not the shows fault haha. It's easy to feel underwheled by a show after experiencing something that really impressed us. I think it was just bad timing haha.
