One thing that I realised is, parents can sometimes treat you as though you are their child just because you are a young tutor, they can also treat you with disrespect. It’s important to draw a line so they see the line whilst staying professional.

Hi Amina, do you only tutor biology? I'm currently undertaking my undergraduate degree in Biomedical science so am pretty confident I could tutor GCSE or even A level young people. How do you keep up with different exam boards and exam styles changing?
Ellie Oberstein no, I also do Maths and English. In terms of keeping up, I look at exam questions and past papers from that board to determine the kind of thing examiners are looking for. I also teach in a school some days of the week so I am up to date in that way.

i dont have alot of qualifications, but would like to start tutoring to supplement my nursing job. if i want to tutor english how can i do that? would i have to have any qualifications?

What's the best way to plan my lessons? Do I follow their current work or topics the student is studying at the moment or just on the topics they find difficult?
Hi it depends on what level the child is at. For GCSE find out which exam board they are doing, then either cover all topics listed on the spec or ask them which topics they want to go through. For maths especially if the child is pre-GCSE focus on problem solving as well as lots of practice questions; this is an extremely important skill to develop and doing loads of questions helps refine technique.
