Forgetting skill and money, if given the choice of either Rugby or football for my kid, it would be rugby hands down. Perhaps it's due to money and sponsors but Footballing leagues accept diving as part of their culture. They accept disrespect to officialdom as part of culture and they accept LYING about being injured as part of the culture. The team mates in football have been known to fight with each other - while a match is on! I would not want my kid to accept lying as part of acceptable and necessary behaviour. No matter what.

In football, I at least get a break when the balls on the other side of the field. No breaks in rugby mate.
Football and Rugby are totally different sports. I don't know why everyone is being so salty in the comments. Football is about finesse and agility while rugby is more of a coordinated team sport which does also require a lot of skill. There really isn't any comparison to be made. It's not whether rugby is for "real men" or if football is for "pussies" some people like football and some like rugby. Personally I like football and I don't know much about rugby but i have no reason to hate on it like a lot of people are doing in the comments.
Well no, some of these players who randomly fell over could have pulled a hamstring or hurt something in there leg, some of them are being pussies, but that never really happens.
Interesting. But I think a comparison of the attendance figures and the global participation levels of each sport would have been enough to tell us which one is better.
Because public more like to see drama type thing rather than real life thing. Football is a great game and need great skill but now days referee and players just believing in dramas to win rather than playing with their talent
This is true... So a rugby player dislocated his arm a popped it back in place and when a footballer dislocated his arm he had to be taken off in a stecher Rugby (for the men) Football (for wimps)
he means that he's being looked at for a club's academy, like maybe the Harlequins academy. It doesn't mean he's a 14 year old that will play for an adult team...besides, if you look at the IRB world rankings, England aren't exactly going badly right now...
This is kinda general , some soccer players get seriously injured. I know a footballer who had his face pretty messed up when his can of hairspray exploded under pressure it was pretty messy.
The way I see it is I've played both sports enjoyed them both as a kid, now I'm older football is not the game for me as I've got physically bigger so rugby is my main sport. I have no issue with football apart for respect or racism and petty dives which ruin the game, but don't get me wrong rugby also has its downfalls sometimes but at the moment the football is getting worser and worser and rugby is getting better and better
I taught delinquent lads in Liverpool. If I took out a rugby ball in PE it was heads down, knocking lumps off each other and the lesson was worthwhile and fun. I'm tired of seeing these stupid videos taking the piss out of football! I play both rugby and football and I have never experienced the scenes that everyone sees on tv, diving etc in all the time I've played. People judge the game on how the poxy Spanish play it. When I play football it is a high intensity and physical game, not some slow paced little girl show like some games on tv. And as for injuries, I experience much more injuries because of football like pulled muscles, ligament damages and twists. I admit, rugby is a much more physical game and the injuries in rugby I've seen are a lot worse than football, but most people on here brag about that! Getting injuries isn't something you brag about! I play rugby cause it's intense and I love it, not cause I like getting badly injured! Some peoples comments and videos are completely one sided (like this video) and stupid and they don't even know what it is like to acctually play the other game!
What peeves me are the football prima donnas falling over when i bump the tv. Go back to the days of George Best riding the foot trips, leg rakes of defenders, shrugging them off and going on to score a goal. Supreme talent with a leather ball on mud pitches.
As someone who's played both sports all there life, I've only ever broken my thumb in rugby. I've broke my ankle 3 times, enough for me to go from right footed to left. Nuff said. If you think rugby is a more physically demanding sport you're deluded. They're both even. The only time someone ever gets injured in rugby is when the tackle is illegal.
Are you joking? must be. Ive played football (goalkeeper) and rugby fullback. Football no. rugby broken shoulder, arm. Pulled neck (caused me to be fed through a tube.) and lung damage. Played for Aberdeen Grammer Football and Aberdeen Grammer Rugby + semi perfesional with the huricanes.
Rugby is easier to watch, because players dont act injuries. Football great sport but those few players get "fatal" injury if the ewen see opponent is close.
What a stupid comparison if bodychecking was allowed in football they would do the exact same, it's called to provoke tactical fouls. The beauty of football are not the fouls, it is who is more efficient on scoring more goals than his opponent, as a team.
Rugby is the same... The beauty of rugby is not the amount of hard tackles, open cheeks and cracked skulls at the end of the game - it is who gains more tries and conversions and most of all - seeing a gap in the defense or scoring that drop goal that ultimates lead to your team winning. I've watched soccer/football and I watch Rugby. For me, rugby is more intensive, there is more movement, more action, more strength and therefore I would rather watch rugby than trying to sit 90 minutes and being bored.
So why is this video here a thing then? If you make a comparison between 2 different sports, try and make it at least objective and not completely biased.
football players earn penalty, goals by faking injuries... they even get players off the football ground by faking injuries.... so yeah go with your bullshit but footboll have gone into somthing else. not a sport for me...
Christo Gaybba Id rather watch high-functioning humans play a real sport like football than have to endure the spectacle of 30 public shoolboys in short shorts waddling across a muddy pitch dropkicking a giant egg to each other.
No matter what, football is the most popular sport in the World. It's the world game and far more entertaining than any other sports especially boring boring rugby
its because its the easiest to understand sport, and once a few people start liking it, everyone else joins in just to be cool. Rugby is also a very intense sport, not a lot of people like the tackling and ect. just because fifa is rich and a lot of people watch it doesn't mean its better or more fun, and as far as I've scene from both sides of playing, people are just more respectful in rugby
WaRmuZv football consists of pretending to die to favour the referee, and kicking a ball in the general direction of a net and hoping it goes in. Rugby is about speed, strength, endurance, skill and being part of a team. It is far less boring than football.
Rugby is boring - FACT. That's why it never exploded after England's WC win. If it's that accessible to the unskilled why is it that it hasn't overtaken the number one sport in the world? Just too boring, just like the idiotic comments stating that it's played by "real" men. Grown men rolling around in the mud, laying on top of each other...zzzzzzzzz.
Seriously, there must be about 20 of these videos made by rugby fans... Why are you all so sensitive? Notice how you never see for example, cricket fans or tennis fans or motor racing fans whining endlessly about how much they hate football. It's always these full-on contact, egg sports that attracts these types of ppl. Personally i think you're all over compensating for something.
And no football fans have made any arguments that football is better than Rugby? Give me a break. I like how 20 videos made by 20 or less people somehow applies to the millions of rugby fans out there.
+AWFULCOLD MINER I hereby invite you to win the argument & find at least 20 of the equivalent football-biased "football vs rugby" videos.
Agreed rugby is built around respect and no arguing with the ref ever
i love football but in this country its all about money and tourists so i wont be surprised if i get into rugby in a few weeks
South African and New Zealand rugby players are the toughest
Mikhail Govender New Zealand has a lot of big lads
Childish Maniacs and South Africa
a rugby player runs about 5kg every match however a football player runs about 15kg every match.
Hence why rugby has so many fat people in it
+Kai Irani XD
I didn't know one could run kilograms
+Kai Irani Yeah, that 15kg is spent rolling on the floor like a puss puss
1:12 not a simulation but a muscle tear
people are going to abuse everything to win doenst make the sport bad

Dat moment, when the description underlines "unbiased".

In football they pretend to be hurt. In rugby they pretend not to be. Different mindset in every respect,to officials, each other and the fans.
Whoever thinks soccer is tougher than rugby, obviously hasn't played it. The hardest part about rugby is that you will be expected to tackle people that weight at least 50 kg more than you running at full speed.
John Johnson I agree Rubgy is tougher but that doesn't make it more technical.
John Johnson no existe en el mundo ni en ningún idioma del mundo deporte alguno llamado "soccer" el deporte más grande practicado y popular del mundo se llama FOOTBALL y es el único verdadero original y real FOOTBALL que existe no existe otro idiota
Skills entered the chad
Really? well i grew up playing both and i can honestly say your fitness levels have to be much higher in rugby since you need to back up for every tackle, and re form the defensive line continuously through the game. In football, I at least get a break when the balls on the other side of the field. No breaks in rugby mate.
I play rugby union its brutal
Yes it is what position do you play
Scrum half
+Dan Oxton I play
flanker
league is tougher

Football and Rugby are totally different sports. I don't know why everyone is being so salty in the comments. Football is about finesse and agility while rugby is more of a coordinated team sport which does also require a lot of skill. There really isn't any comparison to be made. It's not whether rugby is for "real men" or if football is for "pussies" some people like football and some like rugby. Personally I like football and I don't know much about rugby but i have no reason to hate on it like a lot of people are doing in the comments.
"Football and Rugby are totally different sports"...for sure: football is for girls, rugby is for men!
U knoe nearly every football would go to hospital for a stubbed toe
Well no, some of these players who randomly fell over could have pulled a hamstring or hurt something in there leg, some of them are being pussies, but that never really happens.
@@azizouachlelekelif Okay stay bitter, rugby will never be as big
Interesting.
But I think a comparison of the attendance figures and the global participation levels of each sport would have been enough to tell us which one is better.
Soccer is only popular because anyone can play it, rugby is a superior sport in every way
Because public more like to see drama type thing rather than real life thing. Football is a great game and need great skill but now days referee and players just believing in dramas to win rather than playing with their talent
@UCpgo0YXjONE4gxvmY0kLuOw tell me you're not very smart without telling me
This is true... So a rugby player dislocated his arm a popped it back in place and when a footballer dislocated his arm he had to be taken off in a stecher
Rugby (for the men)
Football (for wimps)
he means that he's being looked at for a club's academy, like maybe the Harlequins academy.
This video was also made in 2011 things have changed a lot now but sadly for football not for the better
???...Not comparison possible, are diferent sports and rules
I love rugby and football, both sports are great!!
I taught delinquent lads in Liverpool. If I took out a rugby ball in PE it was heads down, knocking lumps off each other and the lesson was worthwhile and fun.
With the same lads, THE SAME LADS, if I produced a football they were throwing themselves to the floor, arguing with me and swearing at each other.
Monkey see, monkey do.
Professional footballers should hang their heads in shame.
I found the same thing in refereeing school teams.
@Hadc577Also the most cheating.
@Hadc577 Christ on a bike, you’re easily pleased 🙄

I'm new to rugby, but I think I'm in love with this sport already. Can someone explain to me @ 8:06, why didn't he tackle the player? Are you supposed to tackle him only if he is in possession of the ball?
Yeah you can't tackle them without the ball if you do it's a straight red or at least a sin bin
Football = a gentleman's game played by idiots
Rugby = a idiots game played by genteman

AND THIS IS WAS AN UNFAIR TEST
because soccer is gay that's why every UA-cam video it shows a bunch of soccer pansys compared to superior rugby.
i was laughing through the whole football part
there is so much more to football than that. I play rugby too but the beautiful game is called the beautiful game for a reason.
Lol plenty of sports are every bit as aesthetic as Football. "The beautiful game" is just a silly marketing tag.
There's nothing beautiful about football
RUGBY !!! all the way !!
P.S: We play because we want not to get payed
P.S.2: I play rugby for Stirling County
I am the S2 prop for county
FOOTBALL IS FOR REAL MEN FOOTBALL TOP OF THE WORLD
Haha, all good, but would be even better if you showed a few shots when the tackler is pwned by the rugby player with the ball. Nothing funnier than seeing a tackler bumped off, see "Morne Steyn Bumps Brody Retallick"
Rugby ? I like it.... Football ? I love It...... Manliness ? yes Rugby have it... Beauty ? Football have it...... but Dont forget most countries says that football as their "religion"..... In another countries Rugby have their biggest fans..... so I think it's unfair to discredit any sport that you know.... we all have our own fave sports..... So live in peace and watch your favorite games..... I love you all......

You said this because you are fan of rugby.
k Rugby is more active and had more sportsman ship it is my favourite
Well said sir!
You haven't played at their level where it all comes out.
This is why I don't watch football anymore
What peeves me are the football prima donnas falling over when i bump the tv. Go back to the days of George Best riding the foot trips, leg rakes of defenders, shrugging them off and going on to score a goal. Supreme talent with a leather ball on mud pitches.
Unbiased? Come on man! that picture at the start 0:07 says everything! A crew of Argentine player in such a pose that is kind...very kind gay.
Lol, i think its pretty clear who the deluded one is here.
If your telling me rugby is not physically demanding then your not playing hard enough
+Scottish Total War you talk shit. You probably were reserve fullback for the hurricanes f-team for 6 year olds
@@scottishtotalwar8946 Well you won't get injured if you're a goalkeeper lmao

If you make a comparison between 2 different sports, try and make it at least objective and not completely biased.
i agree 100%
football players earn penalty, goals by faking injuries... they even get players off the football ground by faking injuries.... so yeah go with your bullshit but footboll have gone into somthing else. not a sport for me...
Christo Gaybba
Id rather watch high-functioning humans play a real sport like football than have to endure the spectacle of 30 public shoolboys in short shorts waddling across a muddy pitch dropkicking a giant egg to each other.
No matter what, football is the most popular sport in the World. It's the world game and far more entertaining than any other sports especially boring boring rugby
thats because football is more simple to understand
its because its the easiest to understand sport, and once a few people start liking it, everyone else joins in just to be cool.
Rugby is the Sport for Players Without Skills.
You’ve never watched a game of rugby have you?
You're right. Rugby players are not as good as football players in acting skills
I love this video, i'm agree with it.
Amo este video, estoy de acuerdo con el.
+AWFULCOLD MINER
I hereby invite you to win the argument & find at least 20 of the equivalent football-biased "football vs rugby" videos.
You won't though, as you & i both know that football fans don't spend nearly as much time thinking about rugby as rugby union fans seem to spend thinking about football.
supahdupahguy81 Best comment on here by far and Hockey players do the same thing😂😂😂
We're like this cause it seems that the wind gives people broken arms. And then the second they get the penalty the ref scatters healing shit around the players and they get up fine.
2:30 he's crying cos his country lost out in the final and he wanted to win that bad I can't knock that

Ahhhhhh and how could someone prefer soccer?! If I wanted to watch acting I'd go to the movie theater! Playing rugby, that's something I love, its become a lifestyle, right now I train 5 days a week roughly 2-3 hours every time. On the field its very passionate as I represent my region and my school. Its like fighting for things I love to prove to others we are better.
For me Rugby forever and eveer!!!! Without a doubt!!
rugby was invented so football players can have someone to look up too
Motocross was invented so you ball sport dicks can all look upto real men
Quintin Smith Motocross is a great sport, and it takes guts to play. I don't agree that you need to be any more manly than a rugby play, you just don't need to be as tough or as strong. That's it. But on the other hand, soccer players only need to be skinny and weak
Quintin Smith quintin mate this is not your sport why are you here.
Because of the over funding in NZ regions for antique sports that should fade into non-existence

Hardly any were penalties
To be honest, there were a lot of shoulder charges and high tackles. But I think we made it clear and understandable for football players 😂
What makes rugby so damn dangerous is the speed. Take away the shoes and injuries will drop sharply.
