From a cultural standpoint, Coco means the world to me. The sheer respect for Mexican culture in this movie is just incredible. The music, the food & the preparations for The Day Of The Dead. The culture itself is part of who I am and it's very important, as is the message of the importance of family. Also, the customs agent in The Land Of The Dead was portrayed by funnyman Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias.
Trivia note: The real life woman who was the inspiration for Mama Coco died in October 2022 at the age of 109. Also, there's a saying that basically goes "Everyone dies twice; the 1st is after their heart beats for the last time, & the 2nd is after their name gets said for the last time." It makes you wonder how many of the billions of people who have died have no 1 left alive who remembers them?
When i was growing up in foster care, i was privileged enough to be apart of several different cultures and family dynamics. When i was 15, i was placed in a mexican home that celebrated the day of the dead. They urged me to set up an alter for the people in my life that had passed. It took alot of tears and therapy to explain, i simply didnt have family to remember. They took me to get a family photo to put on their ofrenda. Both of them passed away about a year after i aged out of the system. I made them an alter in my home and honor it every year. Its been over 20 years, and their pictures still sit on my ofrenda, and i still celebrate the day of the dead just for them. Lay in rest Marcila and Dronuo. ❤
In case anyone is interested, Miguel's dog Dante is a dog called a Xoloitzcuintli (show-low-eats-queent-lee). An easier name is the Mexican Hairless Dog. It is one of the oldest and rarest dogs in the world. The Xoloitzcuintli was once the companion of Aztec royalty and was believed to have magical powers. These dogs also guided the souls of the dead in the Underworld.
Someone pointed out that it’s messed up that Ernesto de la Cruz made a movie based on how he murdered Hector. He even put the line that he used on Hector.
When I watched this movie in the movie theater, everyone was sobbing, as someone who was raised in Mexico, this movie reflected a beautiful tradition with lots of respect for the Mexican Culture. The colors and all the visuals in the after world are just stunning.
I teared from the moment the movie starts with mariachi in the background. And I’m not Mexican, but it was enough that it was our Latin American culture.
My father passed away in March I’m currently in Mexico celebrating with my family. I return to Chicago in few day. Explore our culture some more and you will learn so many great things
Day of the Dead is a real multiday holiday that originated from Mexico☺️ As stated in the movie, Nov. 1-2 we honor our loved ones who passed with music, festivities, and color.❤ Mexicans celebrate it, and other latinos/latino countries have also taken to celebrating it. 🫠 Also is not Mexican Halloween, the majority of Mexico does not celebrate Halloween 🤭 But I love these reactions! 🤩 I'm so happy yall genuinely seem to enjoy it!~ 🥰💜 I wish Wellz had reacted to it. Maybe he can watch it with Tay later🤭 Cant wait for the next reaction☺️ Great reactions☺️💜🤎💜🧡💜
And fun fact Dante (the dog) is Mexicos national dog 🤭 His breed is called Xoloitzcuintle!~ Its funny that he guides Coco at times, its a reference to Xoloitzcuintle acting as guides for the owner in the underworld ☺️
I love Coco soooo much ❤❤❤I remember watching it with my sister in theater. I legit cried when Miguel and Coco sang together 😢. As a Mexican-American, I appreciate what Pixar did with the Mexican culture in this movie . 🇲🇽❤ I love how you guys post this on my birthday 🥳.
Nov 1st is my bday. I live in San Antonio TX and am Hispanic. I was born in Dia De Los Muertos and it’s always so wonderful seeing more ppl discover my cultural ancestry and the holidays that surround my ppl and Aztec/Mayan ancestors :) love u guys :D have a good day 🤗
This is our family movie. My husband is Mexican and we feel it’s so important to keep his heritage and culture very important. We even dressed up our son as Miguel for Halloween lol. We save this movie for October every year.

I literally just watched this movie on Disney + for the first time yesterday 10/29/2024.. I really enjoyed it. I also loved the commentary from you, amazing guys ❤❤ I'm so happy that I found your channel.. New subscriber alert ❤❤
It’s so touching because music does help the elderly with dimentia/memory loss, because music can make neural connections to memory (we sang before we had language)
Hi RT TV REACTS, This Is One of My Favorite Disney Pixar Movies. I'm Really Love This Movie a lot. My Favorite part Miguel Singing " Remember Me" singing Coco it's got me every time crying into tears. When Miguel find out Hector is his Great Grandfather. That's Really Got Me Because He wants him to be part of his family and for Him to see Coco. What Family that doesn't love Music without Music it's doesn't make you be Happy and Feel Good in Life makes you want to smile and enjoying it. ❤😍🥰

He always does that and it will forever piss me off. “Figuring out” the plot of the movie because he wants to be seen as intelligent. I’m sure he’s smart without that annoying habit.
It has always fascinated me how, two cultures, separated froma huge ocean, very different from each other, like the Celts from Ireland, Scotland and northern Spain, had Samhaim, from where Halloween was born, inwhic they believed the line between the world of the living and the dead disappeared from Oct 31 and Nov 1,and they belived the dead came back. And the Aztec culture, had "Micaihuitl" (Day of the Dead) in which they believed the same, on Nov 1-2. Pretty much same beliefs at the same time of the year, only with different point of views.
Saturday is day of the death here in mexico, i’ve seen this movie at least a 100 times. I love it, it represent us perfectly. Definitely the best pixar movie for me🌟
Ernesto has a fate worth than death since now he'll be living in infamy, for sure his tower will be demolish and all of this workers and fans will hate him forever and he can't go to the final death since the whole world has to forget him, I also feel like sometime later a music producer comes to Miguel to be a musician but he'll say no as he'll break the cycle of leaving family behind
Also there have been approximately 100 billion people that ever lived….so we’re currently in the heavy (8%) minority in the living world as compared to the spirit world, it seems like 😂
For spooky season I'd love to watch you guys react to Hocus Pocus (1993), The Haunted Mansion (2003) and Hocus Pocus 2 (2022) since they are my top 3 favorite Halloween movies 😄🤞🏻🎃💕🎥

Someone pointed out that it’s messed up that Ernesto de la Cruz made a movie based on how he murdered Hector. He even put the line that he used on Hector.
It just proves that he never had original ideas. He didn't just steal Hector's songs, but his death, too.
I'm pretty sure there was an author who did that in real life. He murdered someone and wrote about it in one of his 'fictional' novels.
It's actually fairly common for killers to want to rewrite their crimes to make them the hero or victim.
Wanna know something even more interesting, it’s based on real events
