It has up and down QS, and keep in mind that you guys in the US get the restricted version, while where I live we get it unrestricted from the get go.
EDIT: I completely agree with the intended use for the bike. I love the 4-cylinder sound and want to be able to be higher in the revs without losing my license immediately while blasting through the twisties with my friends. I have a longer test ride lined up, since I am a bit over 6´2, I need to see if I can ride it for 2+ hours without completely destroying my legs and back. If it works out I am definitely buying one.

I agree with “change your first name to bike” 😂. No excuses champ, shut up and practice ! I started on a CBR 300R. It’s a great bike. My only issue is the highway. I’ve only been able to get to 86 and that’s all the way open. I’m 6 ft, I weigh 280 currently (trying to get slimmer for health reasons). In Massachusetts you need to be able to hit 100 with ease just to be able to get out of trouble. I ordered a zx6r and when that arrives I’m looking to upgrade the 300 to something with just a little more power so I can use for the track. Maybe the aprillia 457

@@pandurlolgg5780 Much heavier, no TFT, no QS and no auto-blipper. More power, and also needs to be revved hard to get to that power (when you get into the power band, you are much too fast for the speed limit). All the reasons why I didn't buy one, although I like very much how it looks.

For those in comments saying 100HP potential... FALSE. I own one. Even with Graves exhaust, MWR Performance air filter, and ECU Flash by Vcyclenut, she is sitting at 78HP. Even Graves' full race 4RR is not at 100HP. As for the review, did he get the most out of his ride? Nope. Road mode puts KTRC at a 2, that prevents full acceleration of bike. Sport and Rider mode give full acceleration. When quickshift IS engaged, it does have up AND down capabilities with auto-blip/rev-matching. I DO agree with the assessment of his review. It's not a beginner bike and is costly. But also remember, 4RR is a four cylinder with ram air, not a twin like all other bikes in its size class. I graduated myself from the 2021 base 400 to this, and they are light years apart from each other.

The whole point of the bike is that it's a 4 cylinder engine making about 75hp at 15k rpm.
That's about 2x the power of regular 300-400cc bikes, which are twins making around 40hp, and top out at only 10k rpm.
    2 takeaways:
    - It's not competing with 400cc bikes. It's competing with bikes like the R7 or GSX8R, which make the same power at about the same price.
    - If you're not redlining it, you're not using it right.

Light, rev happy, sounds amazing, makes just enough power to be have fun and not go crazy. It also brings that 90s Japan nostalgia into the modern landscape. It’s a one of a kind bike in the US market. Sure you can argue about price to performance but let’s not pretend that bikes are a logical purchase to begin with. Yeah but no one in their right mind would go and buy a new bike worth 10k and go learn on it on courses knowing they are going to drop it eventually or at least knowingly taking that risk. I had a pain free experience learning on dual sports which are way easier to ride and I even dropped it once testing the limits and those were old honda bikes with bunch of KMs, not a brand new expensive to repair sportbike. if you have no experince and you spend 10k plus gear plus courses then you're doing it wrong, you're going to be afraid to drop it and therefore afraid to take more risks to learn the limits and get the fear out of you. With a cheaper used bike you can ride it normally, learn the limits faster because you're not as afraid to damage it and then after learning how the road works and learning how to ride properly you can buy a shiny new bike knowing you have the ability to use it properly

I test rode one last year and my impressions were that it would be a suitable bike to learn with and take to the track without having to put thousands into suspension and motor vs a Ninja 400, R3, and the similar. Smooth power delivery, the need to carry speed, etc. Plus it has me laughing in my helmet with the angry bumblebee exhaust and willingness to wind it out.
There's also a flash tune to get most of the missing power in the US back vs the rest of world spec so it has an easy path to keep a rider happier than jumping to the next category of machine.

I can go from 6mph into second and its super smooth. The trick is constant throttle. What I just love is the sound. I see where you're coming from. I think for a lot of people it's the "value" that concerns them.. It is a bit of spendy bike for a 400... But in my personal opinion, value isn't just a number on a price tag. I think the ability to ride the hell out of thing and stay under 3 digit speeds is a big one to consider. Someone who wants that "super sport" life without truly having to get on a super sport... If that makes sense? Although maybe not necessarily a beginner bike, I would certainly recommend this as a starter bike over something like a 600, particularly in the super sport category. I think this bike is a lot more forgiving in a few aspects than a 600+ lol. Idk, to me if money isn't really that big of a deal, then I'd say get it. Because it's certainly a ton of fun, and even though the power has been reduced by a decent bit for the US market, it still scoots. If I'm anywhere near redline on my 636, I'm well into the triple digit speeds, and that isn't always fun I suppose. Lots of aspects to consider here in all honesty.

riding it on too low gears. besides, not sure if this is a good bike for the US market since you have the highways etc. But for us here in Nordics this will be great bike because it can be ridden like a supersport still not going too fast that fits our max 130 km/h and is also relatively economical considering the local gas prices

Seriously you rode it with the wrong settings, needed sport and quick shift turned on. It is classic he is saying it just does not have the power to get up to highway speeds quickly but the RPMs are at 7000, less than half red line. If you are reading this and considering a ZX4rr do not pay attention to this review, the rider is not experienced enough to actually test the bike. The breaks are actually awesome, I have been amazed with mine. I am coming from a 90 Zx7 and this is simply so much fun. Take it to the track so you can rip all day. Yes I added a graves slip on, an air cleaned and the 2wheel reprogram but its for the track. My son as the twin 600 and this is just in a completely different class.

It's under tunned in the US market, in other markets it's got more power than am MT-07. It depends on what you compare it to. If you compare it to other 400-500cc A2 bikes it' a rocket ship, if you compare it to 650-800cc then it's not that impressive mainly because of lack of torque, even though I bet it's a lot more fun to ride.

I just got a 2024 ZX400RR and the brakes need scrubbing in, very weak at first but now work great, quickshifter up and down is the best shifting bike to date, stock the bike makes around 52-55 rear wheel hp and with a few mods get around 80 hp and with an experienced rider this bike will take down many bigger bikes with ease. This is not a beginner bike! A beginner can ride one but costs twice as much as a true beginner bike. Ergos are great for a sportbike and coming from a 2019 R1 you can ride this bike all day vs an hour or two painful ones on R1. Bike is huge fun and plan on trimming 20 lbs off it as it should have come stock, I don't think bike is overhyped as its one of the funnest bikes I have ever ridden and coming from owning many Ducatis and Aprilias the price is not bad for what you are getting😎

  • @Exage304
    @Exage304 4 місяці тому

Unless the rider is going to track rat weekend this bike there's very little reason to pay the same price over an R7 for sport street or CBR650R for relaxed street. The larger engines are just better for that stop and go and highway and you get larger rear tire and better brakes with both. No one needs a fancy rear shock or quickshifter for a 70hp bike on the street. The Honda is also a 4 Cylinder and reaches 12,000rpm.
This bike is absolutely fine for a beginner, it's completely gutless down low and does similar power to a ZX-4R until like 8000rpm where it actually starts building power. The only thing is that the price is ridiculous for a beginner if you're not confident in riding, again riders may as well step to a 650 for the price. I started on a new Honda 650 a few years ago which is more difficult, it had more power across the rev range completely and was much heavier. The SV650 is basically the same deal and people had/have no issues starting on that bike either.

You know everything about riding. You don't know anything about bikes. The Ninja 650 is with 67 HP at 8000 rpm. The 400RR is with 77HP at 14500. The 400 is much faster than the 650

      It's not 77hp in us

@ even that the American version is boring. 56hp in 11500rpm is much more fun than the 650

@@eyalny I tend to agree with you. High revving note is much more fun.

unless you are a spec racer the 400rr makes no sense. you can get a 600 or even bigger for the same price.
