The casting of Annette O’Toole and John Schneider as Martha and Jonathan Kent was a genius stroke from the producers. They are the anchors who make the show grounded on reality. Plus Annette played Lana in Superman III which makes her role as Martha even more special. If you’re reading this, Annette (you probably won’t), thank you for doing such a tremendous job on the Superman franchise.

Annette is very good. Her chemistry with Tom and John is incredible. She seems like a very warm person, and brought that warmth to the character. I love that scene in antique store with Rose/Tina Greer🙂. I came by to pick up the lamp. Lamp? 😅 Rose face😀

Annette O’Toole was one of the glue actors that helped hold Smallville together. She was talented, skilled, gracious and believable. She had some great episodes and some legendary scenes. It wouldn’t have been a hit show without her.
