- Mad Mick is back for another eventful big bike ride, this time joined by Maddog Moz on the KTM 950R Super Enduro tyre shredding weapon. Two big litre twins in the bush ripping it up - all Nat & I can do is try to keep up. Another awesome ride with a couple of impressive big bike legends. We hope you enjoy the video.

If that’s Mick’s bad day, I’d happily settle for half that talent. Even on a “bad day” he punts a road bike like a 250?!?! The way he reads the trail and anticipates the bikes movement is incredible. Thanks for putting in the effort Mick. Moz man and the Kato are just plain nuts and it was really interesting to see the difference between the AT and SE. Easy to see where the money goes in a KTM. This one will be on repeat in my playlist for a long time yet. Thanks for the great viewing you guys definitely put together the best adventure/enduro vids out there.

Suggestion to the 950SE rider: Gear down, rev a little higher. The 950 V2 feels like a tractor but loves pushing around 4-6000rpm. I run 15:45, love it.

Congrats on getting the rear-facing camera working right! I had mine mounted on the rear fender (Drift Ghost mini stealth) but it fell off on the last ride at Tillamook! :( Mounting it on the back of the helmet is perfect.
Mad Mick has truly awesome bike handling skills to take an AT in that terrain!
Thanks Suzy yeah we have tried the rear fender mount several times, it either falls or gets kicked off every time. Back of the helmet is definitely the winner! Cheers 🤘

many thanks to you for continuing the Big Bike Enduro series. It's just a lot of fun to see how you have fun :) People shouldn't be afraid of the big bikes. The normal Africa Twin doesn't feel as heavy as it really is and with the right tyres you can get very far in the terrain. You just have to ask Mick ;)

Hey VagTurbo , Ye the AT does tend to feel lighter than actual and as you say with good tyres and luck (on my part) it can go places you wouldn't expect of a big bike :)

I ride my 950SE through similar stuff in Ontario. These bikes, once you get 'em dialed, are astonishingly competent. We have a half dozen or so around Toronto, go everywhere the little bikes go. The biggest fixes for me were the TripleClamp Moto foamdome filter, the Scotts steering damper and swapping out the OEM shock for a 990ADV one and rebuilding it, because the stocker's well known to be an untuneable dawg. The 990 shock is plush yet burly. Forks you can only do so much with, unless you're ready to part with $2-3k for Ohlins or the like. Best tires I've had for trails are the Motoz Tractionator Desert HT rear and Enduro ST front.

I just purchased an Africa Twin because of Mick and his antics on the trails.I would be happy to be half as good at riding it as he is.What did he do to get that (BEAST SOUND) from the exhaust?One thing for sure if I ever one the lottery travelling to Australia and riding with you guys would be first on my "Bucket List".Many Thanks from your friend in Northern Canada.

I discounted the idea of going to a 2 into 1 exhaust on my 990, but I have to reconsider now that I’ve heard how it sounds on the 950. It’s awesome! Probably takes 20lbs off the tail too.
I would have thought the twin pipes sound better... but 20lbs is 20lbs 👌
Bill Ness , Cant beat the twin Akros on the LC8s but , I ran a GPR 2-1 on my 950 , sounded pretty sweet too . Also ran a single Barrett for a bit and it was ok .
Mine still has the heavy stock mufflers with cats. There are so many aftermarket options that I don’t know which way to go. I’m going to call Chris at Rottweiler for an intake and a couple of other bits and I’m sure he can steer me in the right direction. Then send me a tune for the changes. He supplied all of my parts and service for my 690 Dakar Rally bike that I took to Africa. He knows his stuff!

Doubt I will ever have the courage or skill to ride like this off-road. Amazing. I was trying to think what bike I could ride some of that harder stuff on - might have been able to do it on my WR426 on my best day.

Ye it gets by although , a little more clearance could be handy at times but then, I like the low seat height tha comes with the lower ground clearance

KTM rider is impressive, but the AT' is the best in my opinion because the rider is older and the bike is heavier and less suitable for real enduro stuff. Good footage!
i got a feeling that the ktm rider rides purely on adrenaline and not so much on skills in comparison to the AT. But they're having fun! :)

Hey is there some product you can take along suitable to patch a radiator leak or case leak wet? Seems like there would be something that could set up quick
Screws bolts and silicone
Dunno about wet radiators but I think if ya tip a bike over you can clean up a case crack good enough to patch it temporarily with some kind of epoxy such as JB Weld 🤔

Hi! Is 950 SE also lends itself to long road trips, or just off road?
Late as hell to this. But own a 950 SE. chuck on a screen, soft bags and comfy seat and it’s good for touring. Just understand it’s not a GS so fuel range is smaller and the bike is generally less comfortable
