Amazing video and it was super helpful. One question. How come I can’t view public tracks from my mobile app? There is no toggle to view public tracks on the mobile app but there is when using a laptop. Thanks again!
@@walktherockies-withzach.3125 good question. I did not know about that difference before you mentioned it. You appear to be correct, there is no option for public tracks on the mobile app that I can find. Seems like you have to do that on desktop.
@@johngo6283 yeah so when you find a public track you’re interested in while using Gaia on your computer is there a way to transfer that info to your mobile app?
@@walktherockies-withzach.3125 This is a new feature! You can toggle on the Public Tracks overlay in the app like this: help.gaiagps.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003526307-View-and-Add-Public-Tracks-to-your-Account

I still don't get it. If I have Guide Mode, it should work with no connectivity correct? How does this work? I didn't quite follow how to drop 'Route Points' on a map on my laptop in 'Hiking Mode'. Also, is there a place to learn about this in person? I asked the Boulder REI if they have classes and they said no. Should I go to the Apple Store? I just think its sketchy to trust my backcountry no-trail route to my iphone without having tried it first, like your Titcomb Basin route traversing the Winds as described in the vid. Help! I'll stick to my 1:24,000 with my Silva until I can get more answers!
I created a route as per your tutorial, however when I download it to my lowrance GPS I'm getting thousands of waypoints which appear to be the points that compose my route. I'm not seeing a clean line when I look at the map but rather 1,000's of little circles. Any idea what's going on?
I am stuck and the edge of the screen on my laptop and can't figure out how to drag the screen to finish my route? Has anyone reading this figured out how to do this?
Hey Mark. You should be able to just click and drag the map to recenter it. You may drop another route point while doing so, but just click that point and select the trash can to delete it.
created a waypoint, but it does not save like this at all. way different, and can't figure out how to change icon. premium member, seems like every video is a little diff then way it works
Very clear guidance. Exactly what I needed for my trip through the backcountry next week.
Thank you for walking us through this process. This app seems daunting to me, so this kind of presentation is very helpful.

Hello and thank you for this clearly presented guide. In forty minutes you have shown the highlights of what Gaia is all about.
Just what I needed. Thanks for a great product and support with presentations like this.
Nicely done! I am pretty adept with Gaia GPS and even so I learned a few new things. The folder functionality is something that's very helpful.

How do you get your coordinates to show as UTM/MGRS on the drop pin. Go to minute 14:14 on this video and it shows lat/long
Update! You can now use UTM coordinates on the web!
Well done! Thank you.

Do I need a premium subscription to have an option of layer opacity adjustment? My standard sub lets me select only one layer at a time. thanks.
Yes that is correct. More info about memberships here: help.gaiagps.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003524547-Free-versus-Premium-Membership
