I’m in the process of claiming my Italian citizenship as we speak. I plan to retire in Tuscany, although I also have roots in Molise. If I may ask, how do you treat your income for tax purposes? I concluded that if I retired full-time in Italy I would be paying much-higher taxes than in the U.S. (I’m also aware of the 7% flat tax for those who choose to live in the southern regions-including Molise.). So my plan is to reside for just less than half the year inItaly and the rest of the year in my home in Pittsburgh. Have you dealt with that issue? By the way, your video is inspirational and I can’t wait to get there. I too am using a law firm to handle the process and I have asked them about this as well but no response yet-I just sent it the other day.
