The New York Times Plum Torte Recipe

  • Recipe:
    1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened
    1 cup (150g) granulated sugar
    2 eggs at room temperature
    1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
    1 teaspoon (5g) baking powder
    a pinch of salt
    6 - 8 plums, pitted and halved
    juice from 1/2 lemon
    1 tablespoon of sugar + 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
    Bake at 350F (180C) 45 - 50 minutes
