Hey Kevin I want to ask u can u make a vid how to make ur windows 11 computer connect to iPhone I wanna find it if I lost my computer I can just go on my phone to know where’s it is bc I have a bad memory please and thank you
Can you suggest any shortcut way to link all cells with respective check boxes at a time. Because it will be very lengthy process if there is more rows over there .
Brilliant! I’ve been wanting checkboxes for years, but never had the chance to investigate it and for it to work out as I don’t use excel that much. Thanks again Kevin.
You're amazing. I had no idea a checkbox could be used in this fashion. How fun and useful!!! The way you go through your tutorials makes it very easy to understand. Thank you.
Great tutorial Kevin, you are a great teacher. I had to go on line and find out why my "filter" function would not show up. It was not available on the 2019 version 😞Thank you for that simple but powerful check box teaching.
Nice! I knew excel had checkboxes, but prefer Google sheet’s version as it can snap/center into a cell. That conditional formatting as a percent of total was cool and I’ve never seen that.
Dude, if you're not rich you should be. Can't say how many time's I've had crappy looking checkboxes all over my screen. You shaped me up in 11:25! Thank You!
👏👏🤙 Wonderful Kevin With each new video, my admiration for your way of thinking grows. I appreciate the approaches you employ in explaining and uncovering inherent Excel properties. However, upon conducting thorough research, you bear a striking resemblance to a dear individual who imparted the principles of Excel professionalism upon me - the Excel Campus.
Omg I was just looking at how to make a checkbox in Excel and got wayyyy more cool functions than I expected from this video. Making a doc for my Director and I think this will really impress! Thank you!! 😊
Hi Kevin, thank you for this terrific tutorial. I've been using Excel since 1993 or so, and your presentation is both easy to understand and very informational. Nice work! I'll be binging the rest of them, there's always something new to learn 😁
Apparently, it isn't possible to copy down the links, which means that if you are linking for conditional formatting with a sheet that has a large number of rows then this is not really feasible. Also, if you want to remove the check boxes--guess what? You can't remove them by deleting the column. They will stay on your spread sheet. You have to delete each one, one-by-one. So if you copied a lot of them, and then realize that you don't want to use check boxes after all, (because, let's say, you find out that you can't copy down the links), then you have to go down the WHOLE list and manually right click to take each one out. Definitely this is a failure so far, because it's only feasible with a short, demonstration list of a few rows, such as here in this video--not a real world example.
Hi Kevin, you're doing a great job sharing, already I have learned a lot from you. I have a challenge for you, "how to create links to hidden forms, specifically if you need to make sure someone has read the instructions before they proceed to complete a form in a separate worksheet.
Can you edit the text on the True/False cell? You showed how to make it invisible but is it possible to make it your text? Thanks alot for all of your videos!
Your tutorials are always so easy to understand. I hope to be using the check boxes on a upcoming project. Question is there a way to copy and paste the function or do I have to assign a function to each check box individually?
@@webryse I went down the Google sheets route. The spreadsheet I was given was already in Google sheets and I asked the same question in a Facebook page and a few people said if you use excel with a lot of cells it slows down a lot.
@@pmcclure1959 i´ve already figured how to do link all the cells, apparently you have to paste a code in visual basic and then run at least it worked out for me but I agree with you that it´s slows a lot
Trying to follow your method step by step! I never understood how you managed to do the checkboxes without having it in a messed up position. I am trying it multiple times.
1 year later and still very useful! I'm trying to make a Habit Tracker in Excel but to iterate the same for 31 days x (No. of habits) seems very tedious. Is there any shortcut for it?
iMac flyer here - had to open preferences then open the Customize Ribbon tab. In there I found the developer. But right clicking on any of the tabs on top would not open Customize the Toolbar.
Great explanation- would like to see extra column of tick boxes for, say, Left bakery - and see how to set that up so that only one checkbox per row could be activated.
I want my attendance sheet to count the present by column and by row. But i still have to use format control and i have several learners. Is there an easier way to do that?
Thank you so much. Very clear and useful. Just one question, if i want to start over, is there any way i can uncheck all the boxes at once i/o unchecking it one by one?
I think you need to use vba code to make that possible. Make a new button and name it resetbutton. Press F11 and you go to the programmers coding environment. In the screen on the right you see 2 pull down menus. You have to find resetbutton_click or something like that. Select it and a new function is written in the empty screen. Try to make a loop to set the value of the checkboxes to false. To do that you also need to know the name of the checkboxes.
In a column where you have TRUE and FALSE words, replace all with FALSE. All check boxes should clear of checks. You can type FALSE in cell C3 and copy this cell down.
If you have a long list you need checking, adding the true/false would take too much time adding it individually. Is there a way to count the number of check box ticks without the true/false control? Also with highlighting which row is checked?
Kevin, I also need to know about ActiveX check boxes, and how I can automatically position and size them in a cell. Do you have a video for that? And, is there a way to get the new, nifty Excel 365 check boxes in Excel for Windows?
What ever i tried to change text photo to text in word but i could not could you tell me what is the reason Is there any other way to convert text photo to text to bring some changes
Maybe I missed it but if I wanted the true/false box to say for example, "done"/"not done" or other, how do I change that? You can link the part of the video where he explains it if I overlooked that
Hi Kevin, thank you for all your videos, they help a lot. I wonder is you be kind to share a formula that I cannot make to work yet, I need to add total value of one code between dates, If I do it separayly just looking between dates it give the how many Code do I have, but no count the quantity of the code, the columns are DATE, CODE and QUANTITY. Can you help me with that, please?? thanks

Your channel might be one of the most interesting ones in the whole internet
Kevin king of content. Your explanations are in depth and thorough. Thank you and God bless.
Awesome, I have seen this done by a few people, but they were too fast. You were nice and slow. You're a legend , dude
Kevin being My top Excel Man since 1863😂. Love what you do....
Hahaha.
Lmaoooooo @ 1863 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You're amazing. I had no idea a checkbox could be used in this fashion. How fun and useful!!! The way you go through your tutorials makes it very easy to understand. Thank you.
I never thought that checkbox could be so complicated. Interesting.
honestly...same here
Much easier in Google Sheets tbh
yes this is annoying
As always Kevin, highly informative, thank you for all that you do to keep us relevant.
Great tutorial Kevin, you are a great teacher. I had to go on line and find out why my "filter" function would not show up. It was not available on the 2019 version 😞Thank you for that simple but powerful check box teaching.
What's the other alternative if you don't have the Filter function?
thank for your teaching.
I cant find the Filter function in Excel 2023. its possible to add this function on Excel 2023? or I force to use Excel 365?
Nice! I knew excel had checkboxes, but prefer Google sheet’s version as it can snap/center into a cell. That conditional formatting as a percent of total was cool and I’ve never seen that.
Then you will love the new checkboxes in Excel

Love these videos. Practical, useful and efficient. Thanks!
Kevin is the Best Microsoft tutor on UA-cam!🏆
Perfect for my "to do list". Thank you!
Simple, but still very clever. Awesome work @Kevin thank you for making us look smarter :)
Nice! I knew about these but also knew I’d learn something by watching your video. You should do a series on all of the form controls.
You are an excellent trainer! Thank you for all of your teachings and hard work. God Bless

Excellent video. Google sheets is better in checkboxes though

Very helpful! Simple, and quick steps. I couldnt figure out how to add the developer tab on my ribbon so thank you for including that step!
Many thanks Kevin, really appreciate your wonderful content and big efforts ❤
Thank you, lots of great info, for some reason i don't have filter in my Fx
I am learning a lot from your posts. I am an Excel enthusiast and l enjoy doing the exercises that you are sharing...Thank you...
Hi, Kevin. I want to say 'Thanks a million.' The way you teach is fun and engaging. I've learned a lot by watching your tutorial.
As small UA-camr posting similar content I learn a lot from here. Thanks for good the work
Great tutorial as always, but can you tell me why you chose the first checkbox and not the second ?
Brilliant work! This is beyond what I came for and it’s exactly the stuff that I needed the most now to solve my checklist project, thank you so much
That’s extremely useful thank you for sharing!
My excel not showing "Filter Function"....
Maybe your excel is outdated
Write 0 or any number under title
Thanks Kevin. It's always a pleasure to follow your tutorials
Having a warehouse inventory project. 6:27 This will be so useful for me.thank you

I’ve got “to do” list ideas.
Great, informative video, but if you have 900+ rows to do is there a faster way to link all the cells?
I have the same question

Thank you Kevin! I am learning so much from these videos!
Thank you! This was a good one.
Can you make a video on how to reset a checklist?
Trying to follow your method step by step! I never understood how you managed to do the checkboxes without having it in a messed up position. I am trying it multiple times.
i cant find (filter function) when i search for it when i click on insert function icon . what should i do???

Awesome video Kevin. I see a number of requests to learn how to reset a checklist. Is there a quick way to do this?
Nicely explained.
Love your videos! Are you going to do one for radio buttons?

Thanks for sharing this video. It was really informative.
can you change text from true to maybe checked or something different?
Thank you very much ❤
Thank you, this is great, really useful and I have applied everything to a large spreadsheet of a list of materials I am in the process of sourcing.
Thank you, Kevin! I have been a long-time follower :)
My check boxes won't copy down. Any ideas?
What if you’ve many check boxes. Do you have to manually linked them to cells?
For items not complete can it list multiple items in one cell?
Sir Kevin I have a challenge on one of my excel task, if you don't mind can you help me out via teams?
What ever i tried to change text photo to text in word but i could not could you tell me what is the reason
Is there any other way to convert text photo to text to bring some changes
Good video. At the end I was hoping you shared the if function to turn the true false into different words lol
what if my list is long though? do i have to do this manually for each cell?
Nice video. Learn a lot from your videos. Thanks for sharing, Kevin.
Kevi, thanks for the great and interesting videos. The newly added check box under the insert icon is not installed in my office 365. Any clues?
Really
Helped, thanks Mate.
How can I apply this to the Spreadsheet?
Thank you!
Any idea when this will move from beta into production?

Can this be done in Google sheets especially the filter function
