    I love Ikoyi so much and I am so proud of the city.
    My Late uncle Abu, a lovely happy person came to the village visiting one day and he took me along to Ikoyi, Lagos.
    Next morning , I woke up to a new level and I fell in love with the environment.
    Imaging Aje-kpako living among Aje-botas?
    I trek all the whole streets and Crams all the names in a matter of 6 months like who is taking an exam about the small Island, o'boy no be joke o! see happiness for my belle...
    I later met a good Samaritan in V.I and my life changed forever for good.

    You are very brave, riding your bicycle from Morocco to Nigeria.
    We are Germans and used to live in Lagos for 6 yrs in the seventies. First in Ikeja and then in Ikoyi. At 4.30 I can see the house we lived in. It used to be Fowler Rd. and now Oluwa Rd. Cross over Kings Way, there is the Ikoyi Club, where we were members. The building we lived in belongs now to Sahara Energy. I think only offices and no apartments. Next to it used to be NEPA. My children went to the German School in Apapa. I am surprised how much Lagos has change for the better. Ikoyi is unrecognizable. There used to be a large beautiful Park at the Lagoon, called Ikoyi Park. My children used to go there to play. It's gone now, build up with houses.
    More than 40 yrs later, we live in Australia now, but one son and his family live in Senegal and son works in Guinea (Conakry). Thank you for all your beautiful videos.

    J’ai l’impression que les gens ont abandonné le CBD pour faire d’Ikoyi le nouveau CBD. Le problème c’est que les immeubles sont moins haut à Ikoyi et moins dense. Du coup une ville comme Nairobi est plus intéressante à regarder car elle peut challenger les villes asiatiques en terme de centre-ville.

      Le CBD de Lagos, c'est-à-dire CMS et Marina, est déjà surchargé, raison pour laquelle les organisations doivent déménager à Ikoyi. Ikoyi était autrefois un quartier purement résidentiel. Mais au cours des 10 dernières années, elle s'est massivement transformée en une zone commerciale dotée d'un bâtiment architectural moderne. L'île Victoria semble également être surchargée. La nouvelle ville d'Eko Atlantic sera un autre lieu pour l'avenir de Lagos

    • @seydoutraore2867
      @seydoutraore2867 9 місяців тому +1

      @@debopopoola2159 Non elle n'est pas surchargée mais plutôt mal aménagée. Il faut que les vieux bâtiments laissent la place aux tours ultra moderne. C'est ce qui se fait dans tous les CBD dans le monde. Ce que Lagos est en train de faire c'est une fuite en avant et ça n'avantage pas la ville en comparaison avec d'autres villes africaines comme Luanda, Nairobi, Addis-Abeba, Daresalam voire Abidjan et Dakar. Toutes ces villes font un effort pour transformer le vieux centre en demolissant les vieux bâtiments.
      Prends les villes asiatiques par exemple qui ont de très impressionnants CBD, elles n'ont pas créées de nouveaux CBD. Elles ont juste gentrifié l'existent. Même en Amérique c'est le cas. Je t'invite à voir ce que Londres est en train de faire de son centre ville actuellement

    Nice but there is know reasons why the whole Lagos cannot be well developed as Lagos state is the 5th biggest economy in Africa...please show us Itire, Ikorodu Egbeda,Badagry...

      Yeah I get your point while Lagos is a significant economic hub, addressing development disparities in areas like Itire, Ikorodu, Egbeda, and Badagry is crucial for more inclusive growth. I will do videos of these places regardless.
