I trek all the whole streets and Crams all the names in a matter of 6 months like who is taking an exam about the small Island, o'boy no be joke o! see happiness for my belle... You are very brave, riding your bicycle from Morocco to Nigeria. We are Germans and used to live in Lagos for 6 yrs in the seventies. First in Ikeja and then in Ikoyi. At 4.30 I can see the house we lived in. It used to be Fowler Rd. and now Oluwa Rd. Cross over Kings Way, there is the Ikoyi Club, where we were members. The building we lived in belongs now to Sahara Energy. I think only offices and no apartments. Next to it used to be NEPA. My children went to the German School in Apapa. I am surprised how much Lagos has change for the better. Ikoyi is unrecognizable. There used to be a large beautiful Park at the Lagoon, called Ikoyi Park. My children used to go there to play. It's gone now, build up with houses. More than 40 yrs later, we live in Australia now, but one son and his family live in Senegal and son works in Guinea (Conakry). Du coup une ville comme Nairobi est plus intéressante à regarder car elle peut challenger les villes asiatiques en terme de centre-ville.
Le CBD de Lagos, c'est-à-dire CMS et Marina, est déjà surchargé, raison pour laquelle les organisations doivent déménager à Ikoyi. Ikoyi était autrefois un quartier purement résidentiel. Mais au cours des 10 dernières années, elle s'est massivement transformée en une zone commerciale dotée d'un bâtiment architectural moderne. L'île Victoria semble également être surchargée. La nouvelle ville d'Eko Atlantic sera un autre lieu pour l'avenir de Lagos

C'est ce qui se fait dans tous les CBD dans le monde. Ce que Lagos est en train de faire c'est une fuite en avant et ça n'avantage pas la ville en comparaison avec d'autres villes africaines comme Luanda, Nairobi, Addis-Abeba, Daresalam voire Abidjan et Dakar. Toutes ces villes font un effort pour transformer le vieux centre en demolissant les vieux bâtiments.
