The Sustainiac actually works sort of like an ebow, using the battery to produce a magnetic field that sustains the notes. Using the switch, it changes from harmonic to fundamental. Which is why some of his notes go harmonic when they're held.

Hell no. I blocked my old RG550 and put in a brass block. A $100 job that made a $1000 difference. And should the day come where I would have to sell it, it would take me a couple of hours to make it stock again.

This is coming from someone who writes tonnnns of 3/4 and 6/8 material.
It doesn't matter which way you decide to write it, people feel it the same way when listening to it and the vast majority of people end up counting it in 3/4 anyways lol so who fucking cares.

Honestly though, who goes around saying that? LOL
3/4 and 6/8 feel the same as 4/4 or 5/4 when your bobbing your head to the riff and really enjoying it.
Everyone bobs their head on the beat either way so if you removed the counting aspect its the same no matter what. What REALLY matters is the actually Riff. 3/4 or 4/4....is it actually written well and do the drums and bass acco.pany it in a way that gers people going. That where he nailed it, super super simple riff that hits great.

***** It might do, I don't know if you own one, but if you do, try strumming behind the nut, you can get some sound through the nut, so it might do a little, hence why he's only got it on the middle 4 strings, which have the most length on the headstock side :)

    • @leonardsullivan
      @leonardsullivan 6 років тому +1

Yes it makes a significant difference when you go record lead guitar.
Those things remove a substantial amount of string noise. Try a tapping riff on loud volume without something muting the strings, youll get TONS of extra unintended noise, now put one on, it is night and day.
If you see people in the studio recording lead guitar they almost always have some sort of device muting the string.
I justtie a clean sock around the nut where the headstock and neck meet.
Mutes almost ALL the extra noise, nobody knows ive got socka tied around my guitar lol, they just hear a nice clean bright lead.
      AND....I didn't pay a dime!!!
try it sometime man, you'll be shocked how clean you sound.

Absolutely love your tone and the Schecter.
    Could you please advise:
I prefer a thicker neck and absolutely love evh necks which are also C profile. Is this neck closer to the evh or thin like like Ibanez?
I'm a little nervous about the EMGs vs EVH pups. Could I get punchy tone like you have without spending a small fortune on a rig I use modeling software?
Why don't I just get an evh? I had one and the lower e pulls off the fretboard when bending, a known issue.
The Scheckter's sustainiac and design are exactly what I want, and the build quality from what I've read is amazing.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Anybody knows how much a Sustainiac + installation would cost? I'm not suggesting this guitar is a bad one, but I do have a guitar I'm more than happy with and would like to "gauge" the difference between installing it & buying a guitar with it pre-installed (like this one).

Just a quick question, I noticed your pickup selector was on the bridge and the sustainic is in the neck? So is this an emg demo by accident? I'm not trying to be a troll or anything I'm just curious haha

When you turn on the sustainiac, the 3 way is ignored. It uses the sustainiac and the bridge pickup. When the sustaniac is off it's basically a humbucker-single configuration. HS. The sustainiac becomes a "noiseless" single coil. The sustainiac is not a humbucker, the bottom cover is a dummy to fill the humbucker hole.

@@camosnake31 Still valid questions though. I was looking for this info myself. Maybe the next person will find the answers easier. I just bought a new guitar with the sustainiac.
