It’s an original 74 California hills car, no rust. Just disk brakes to be safer. It has only 89k miles on it.
@@AskaFam mines a ‘74 standard beetle, nothing fancy. It’s about 80% restored now. Ohhhhh have you ever heard of Mr Mike “Hotrod” Rowan? Before his recent passing hew was local to me.

2 Questions
1-Did she throw any codes after awhile?
2- Has it become obnoxious on longer rides? (4+hrs)
No codes, and these shorty pipes are LOUD. I didn’t mind it, but others probably did 🤣. I currently run a Dean Speed Customs Rampage 2-1.

Don't forget to re-tune and increase airflow.
A tune is only required if your changing the cat or intake, not for throwing on pipes after the cat. That’s why Indian offers the tune card with the intake, not the slip on pipes.

I had same pipes . Had to remove after 3 months,my check engine light came on. Must be re tuned for fuel air mixture and will void warranty if issues associated with pipes
That wasn’t a problem with the pipes. Just adding shorties after the cat doesn’t affect airflow in/out of the engine. You only need a tune if you’re adding an air intake, or changing the exhaust by removing the cat.

Yep, and they fit the same on the Chief.
I’m looking at the Indian website and I can’t find where I can get this bike with the exhaust black. From the heads. It shows it as chrome
It is due to a factory shortage with black powder coating for the last year. Now, you have to order with chrome, and when you buy you get a “gift card” to swap to black when it becomes available. Or, you can have the chrome powder coated yourself.
How tall are you? The bike looks small for its weight.
I’m 6’2. The bike is a smaller frame, but not too small. It’s meant to be a sport styled bike so not as large as the baggers, but larger than the scout by a good margin.

@@torres7918 it all depends on how you like to ride. Many shorter guys and ladies ride these bikes and love them. The standard Chief has the forward drag bar handle bars and mid controls, so you reach forward. The bobber has the mini ape bars and forward controls so you’re more of an upright position. It’s all in how you prefer to sit, I’d suggest test them out at the dealer and see what you like.

What is the name of the bolt on pipes?
GP Shorties, but I can’t in good faith recommend them. They peeled up and rusted out within a month! They are a throwaway part until you find better, and Dean Speed Customs makes short pipes that are by far better!

What size is the header? Did you use the 45mm relief cut ones?
Stock header, not sure on the size.
@@AskaFam I got the slip ons with the 45.5mm ID..stock header OD is 44mm and the shorty GP fits like a glove. Sharing this for future reference and info!!

Correct, straight pipe from the cat.

They are good. Only downside (as with every cheap pipe) the coating needs to be redone. Easy to strip and powder coat.
What size are the tips?

45.5mm ID on the tips with relief cuts. They slide over your stock header end pipes with have a 44-45mm OD..suggested to use the stock collars for a snug fit.
Did you leave the catalytic converter in or remove it?
Slip on pipes don’t change the cat.
@UCUv13cg1Q9on7WlMeG6LAtQ yes, the catalytic converter is part of the upper exhaust. It doesn’t get touched with any slip on pipes, even the Indian brand “stage 1” mufflers.
