Star Wars Galaxy's Edge - Ігри
I have the Hasbro one and enjoy it, but the Sabbacc from the park feels more authentic.
Both versions got it wrong though, the goal of Sabacc isn't to get to 0, it's to be at 23 or -23, being at zero is actually a Bomb Out
Oh yeah that's right. How do you mess up the rules this badly? This Wookiepedia link explains how it should be played: starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Sabacc
They are the Corallian Spike variations of the game which according to legends and the Solo move is the game that Lando and Han actually played
Can you just use the park cards with the hashbro tokens or they two variant game rules?
How much are the ones at the park
The GE version could definitely use some sort of set of credits to bet with!
if you have poker chips you can use that that is what i do
Yeah I gotGE version and for almost 20dollars it should definitely have at least some credits
I really liked this comparison but I still prefer the park version! Thanks for sealing my vote!! Love the vids
Can you do a video where you teach us how to play Sabacc? I have SWGE Sabacc and the instructions are a little unclear 😂
If you have a look at the reply I just made to this video there are a lot of details about the game and a link to a video tutorial (not by me). If you are only interested in the tutorial here is the link: ua-cam.com/video/aym6aGyH4mQ/v-deo.html If you happen to with a YT-1300f in a game, don't forget me, I'd love to get off this planet for a spell.
You can't play Sabacc with galmaxy's edge deck saddly... you need a 76 cards deck for this.
LyciaD3 This is a variation called correlian spike. I have this and it is possible to play. I would recommend it.
@@cocayoo Nope, for me, this is a variation called Bantha Poodoo. i won't talk more about disney's undooing, we can't agree on this matter.
LyciaD3 Variations like this existed in legends. The closest one probably being corellian gambit.
I want one now. I'd get the one from galaxy's edge.
5:05 that's actually negative 1
Got the hasbro version in the mail today, so this video was perfectly timed.
I would prefer the one sold at the theme park. Because, how Iit looks and where the cards are held.
I'm going to do Savis workshop when it opens at WDW so thanks so much for the vids of the sets!👍👍👍👍👍 keep up the good work!
This is one of my priorites in galaxys edge
I'm trying to get the GE version too. I have the Hasbro ones and they're ok but I hear the GE ones better.
This is on my list. When the pandemic stops being a threat
@@isaackim7675 were you able to get a hold of them?
@@PontiacBandit No. I don’t even live near the area
@@isaackim7675 hey idk if you’ll ever see this, but there’s several decks of this on Etsy that you can get. They’re actually higher quality than the GE ones.
I realy like Sabbacc and loved the ,,scene" in the Darth Bane Book where it was explained perfectly
It's like Poker and Black Jack in Star wars universe
I was looking to see if anyone else made that connection to darth bane
I was at Galaxy’s Edge last week and didn’t see this 😓 I would love a copy to go along with the Sabre I built at Savi’s!
This was sold out a week ago when I went. Thanks for the comparison. Now if only they'd start selling the version shown in Rebels...
I bought one from Galaxy's Edge last week. $18 in Orlando.
This and the Dejarik set were sold out when I went last time! If you go back soon and can get me a sabacc set would be much appreciated! We aren’t going back until January when ROTR opens...
I love the sabacc sold at Disney but am going with Hasbro for my kids. Thanks for the video!
I play the game myself with a few friends. Some of us use poker chips and replica sabacc credits to play.
When you open the box and manipulate the objects it's almost an ASMR video :)
It's good to see them together. I wondered about the card size. I thought the Hasbro cards were the larger of the two. Seeing them side-by-side that isn't the case. They should have faux distressed inside the outer edge a bit in addition to the card itself. It was so rare you had to win it in a game of Sabbac lol It was funny when Lando said Han's name like some people do (like myself) instead of like Leia did. I Solo a lot of games. Pun intended lol MTFBWY
I have the Hasbro version. The "chips" are alright, but Hasbro wasted A LOT in packaging. They could have easily made it a quarter of the size. I plan on getting the GE version.
Is it difficult to shuffle the cards? The theme park ones especially look like they'd be hard to shuffle in the traditional manner given their size and thickness. Wont stop me from getting it but I'm just curious.
I don’t have anyone to play sabacc with either.... I will play with you SirJames!
I need the theme park version!!
Looks super cool might get it at the park
I like the idea of the over head camera
Anyone know where you could find protective card sleeves in that weird shape?
For authenticity, the GE version is better, and I read its USD16, but coming from Singapore, it's gonna cost me about USD40 (including s/h). Looking at eBay, it's higher.
I'm a huge SW fan, and its not gonna stop me from getting these cards. Definitely wanna try and play sabacc with friends. Is there a strip sabacc version?
I like the hasbro ones because they come with those sick credits but the galaxys edge ones look better
Are these cards similar to poker cards in feel? Or do they feel kinda cheap like the Hasbro set?
The card stock that Hasbro used in their version was so flimsy I immediately sleeved them. I also felt the dice in the Hasbro version were crap. These newer cards and newer dice look like they're much better than Hasbro's version in the review.
I'd like to get two of these decks (one to open, one to keep sealed) at some point. Unfortunately I'm not wealthy enough to afford a trip to a Disney park and I'm not going to patronize scalpers on Fleabay to get them.
It's too bad you can't get them online through the Disney store website. That would certainly make getting them a lot easier.
How did you get those? I went two days after the video was posted. I went to Disneyland Wednesday and Thursday and they didn’t have the cards or the Dejarik table. I asked a cast member and they looked confused as to how to answer. It was interesting bc I noticed the cast member was talking to a manger and pointing at me. Thanks for the great videos!
I've had them for some time now I just was not sure how I would even review the product
SirJames I Gamerfuzion do have any inside info as to when product is back in stock? Or is it just the luck of the draw?
That outro was all class!
Can’t wait to pick up a set, totally going to weave it into our Star Wars RPG sessions!
You should buy a couple of Imperial credits from Galaxy’s Edge when you’re playing it o make it look authentic
The dice in the Hasbro version are engraved, so the symbols are recessed into each face. The dice in the park version are just printed onto the surface of each face, and will wear off over time.
Eric Follows, hmmm, interesting. Kind of a bummer. Are the dice plastic? Wondering if I could use a tiny dremel to indent, then repaint...?
I’ve played with five players with the hasbro one and it works just fine
Could they be in a different place other than the toy maker?
I wasn’t interested with the Sabbac cards but the theme park one looks great.
I have the theme park version. And I have a version from Etsy. I prefer my Etsy version. They are thicker, textured and the dice are metal. But the theme park version feels/looks more authentic than the hasbro version. I just wish they sold credits to gamble with.
Ah this is what I've been waiting for, awesome James, thanks.
I have go say, the Toydarian version's rules makes little sense at 2.a. under gameplay;
a. Gain - take the top card from the Draw Pile. You may keep the card or you may discard. If you pick the option of discarding, you must discard before you draw.
If you can keep or discard the card you draw, how can you discard it before you draw it?
Most of the Toydarian rules I prefer to Hasbro's, as the Hasbro version is just a little too simple (though that makes it a great entry for new players and kids), but I'll definitely be ignoring that bit.
The Toydarian version also has far too many winning hands, there's no way most people will be able to remember all of those, so I think I'll be slimming it a little, kind of a combination of the two.
It's a little oddly worded, but I think it just means you can't see the card until you decide if you're going to take it or discard it. It's kind of like choosing to hit in blackjack.
Forgive the essay of a response;
What you say could well be correct, and I was thinking along those lines as well, but given that it could be interpreted in multiple ways makes it contentious enough to be largely ignored imo otherwise players will be arguing over it.
Hasbro's rules basically allow you to draw and discard at the same time from what I can remember, in fact the rules over discarding were quite lose, which plays well (perhaps a little too well) otherwise it places too much jeopardy on drawing a card as it becomes difficult to get rid of a bad card.
This creates a very common scenario where players are junking in the first round if their initial 2 cards aren't a winning hand, or at least close to being a winning hand, as the second they draw it becomes increasingly more difficult to win, which can become quite frustrating.
Texas Holdem has kind of the same feel where you're effectively forced to have the 5 cards dealt, plus the 2 in your hand, and it tends to have the same results where many players automatically fold before even the first round of betting. I get some people that like that, given how popular Texas Holdem is, but I prefer a version of Sabacc that allows for recovery as that encourages people to stay in the game longer.
I guess what I am saying is that the Disney set has the better cards, while Hasbro has better rules (if it a little too simple).
How do people get in contact with you to get something from the park? I’d love to get this Sabbacc set.
eBay is a good bet it's a about a 10 dollar hike up but not bad
One question do the two card games play the same way?
Yes i am pretty sure
Yes, the only difference is card quality and currency vs. no currency.
Yes the only differences are card quality and currency vs no currency.
hello a question where in star wars galaxy edge can you find the cards
toydarian toymaker marketplace
@@SirJamesIGamerfuzion thanks
Hello I live in france ,can you help me getting a galaxy edge sabacc set?
Early morning to ya budd
I like the park one more though I didn't notice any rules for betting ;). As for finding people to play with, check out the local comics store or if you're lucky, games/hobby center or even bars. if it's a matter of not wanting your cards mussed up by strangers, have a 'shared' deck and a 'collectable' deck. but if' you truly live in a burg or have zero time to travel for games, there are volumes of 'solo' gaming rules out there. Since Sabacc plays a lot like black jack, just look those up.
Your supposed to bet after ever round three rounds
Can I get help getting a park version?
I’d combine the two - use the cards and dice from Galaxy’s Edge (the Star Wars branding on the other cards is lame), with the credits from Hasbro to up the ante and keep it interesting...unless you guys want to play for lego sets or something?
I was thinking the same thing. Or, you could use poker chips.
I like them both, but the Hasbro one feels more like it’s meant for kids and a newer audience. It’s more like something that a new fan would buy and try out while the Sabacc cards from Galaxys Edge look and feel like something an adult would buy after being a fan for years. The galaxys edge ones look and feel like something that belongs with a long time fan, and that’s why I prefer the Galaxys Edge ones.
Did Han just did a String Betting? Bad boy. Johan.
Both are nice I have the one from the theme park.
I wish that more of the stuff from galaxies edge had aurabesh on so nerds like me could read it
For ease of play- Hasbro.... For Authenticity- Park Version. --- But I love the "Credit" cards- understandably Disney shied away from the "Gambling" angle.
Hey sir james can i send you moneh for a vader legacy saber? If you dont mind.
Geezes! Its only $15 for the GE version? Amazon is selling it for $40😂
The GE one looks way better!!
now its $30
The theme park sabacc is nice, looks cool and all, however when it comes to actually playing the game the hasbro might be better. I don't have the hasbro, but from experience using the theme park one the stiffness doesn't make it much better. It easily bends when shuffling, and getting those bends out is hard. The cards like the arch after being shuffled, and you have to completely turn the deck upside down and shuffle to get the arch out. The theme park sabacc isn't made like poker cards, which I personally think sucks because that would make actually playing with it so much easier.
I'm going to have to pick up the Disneyland one, that Hasbro one is too immature for the level of my and my friend's Star Wars Fan nerdom.
how do you play if you are red green color blind?
I like the one from the park
I ll wait for STAR WARS GALAXY 🌌 S EDGE in VR
I couldn’t really get into either decks and opted to get a custom one made that is based on the cards seen in Rebels.
Yep, definitely prefer the park version.
Hasbro's set fits kids hands, also the numbers are for kids to easily recognize because they also have to do the math in their head. Adults tend to do math faster and recognize the face value quicker.
Galaxy edge version for sure
I thought the goal was either 23 or -23?
What is the cost of theam park sabac
$15
Awww..... I would play with you. I feel your nerd isolation. 💔
The theme park one is harder to shuffle
Darth maul lightsabers review
I miss your hauls :/
You turned into a Star Wars youtuber which is something I'm sadly not into. But I hope you're happy with your new content.
Gaming will return very soon at the moment gaming been slow until the end of the year stuff is released and had to do something to keep my channel afloat and thus the star wars videos
How do you obtain all of the kyber crystals? (exept BLACK)
you buy them ?
I mean do you just... do you have to buy a holocron for the white ones or just buy it like in a capsule
@@jefftrucky6685 capsule
@@SirJamesIGamerfuzion thank you
@@SirJamesIGamerfuzion are you planning on doing something cool like a massive meet up or doing something like seeing if you can recreate iconic lightsabers using savi's workshop parts?
So its very much like pyzak the other star wars card game from kotor
Pyzak you get closest to 20
Sabacc you get lowest
I always prefer in world stuff
Hasbro ftw imo! The dice are better; the symbols are etched and not just painted. There are credits. And even though the park's cards are more authentic, there are 10 extra cards with Hasbro--more bang for your buck. Jussayin.
😊
The Galaxy’s Edge sabacc price has indeed increased from $15.99 to $16.99
Pure pazaak :') KoTR
Sir jeeems
Which is closer to movie
lynnzi3d the parks version
I live like 15 minutes away from you. I will play with you.
James is a great guy who deserves a great partner... this is just sad
Play a game is sabacc?
It looks like the hasbro goes up to 9 on the card where the park only goes up to 6. That’ll definitely change up the game.
nick barion the park one goes to 9 as well I have the set. It’s just 7-8-9 are symbols and are not numbered which took me a few hands to memorize it’s just the park version is more authentic to the movie.
Eric Frisbee good to know thanks!
Sabacc from Batuu
You could be a helluva hand model buddy!😂😂
This is a good review, i prefer and will go with hasbro. Not impressed at all with the park version
Its a damn shame Disney doesnt even know how sabacc is played SMH
Both you and Dano said you have no friends to play with. This cant be true
Pretty sure a winning hand in Sabacc is 23 or -23
Okay it is but just like poker there’s different rules and in the movie solo the game han and lando play they have to get to 0
Hmmm is this card game like poker??
idk never played poker
No, it's nothing like poker
@@SirJamesIGamerfuzion Poker's fun. You should give it a try.
It reminds me of blackjack. Instead of whoever is closest to 21, you have to be closest to zero.
The expanded universe version is cooler
Not a game for the color blind without altering the cards. I have to right R and G on the cards so my GFs colorblind dad could play.
1:26
5th
It's just a shame they put that ugly logo over the backs of the cards...
If you guys play by they way they say too then y’all playing fake Sabacc
In real sabacc you have to either have to get 23 or -23 or lower to win. When you get a 23 or -23 it’s called a pure sabacc
Sabacc is a mix of poker and blackjack
This is a variant of the standard Sabacc, much like the different variants of poker
pazaak > sabacc
