    4 stroke for daily rider, 2 stroke for sunday funday. 4 stroke will get you 1000s of miles. Much more reliable. Phatmoto 4 life🍻

    I completely agree re: the 2 stroke, the cost is much less and the speed is more up my alley

    2 strokes are such a pain. First thing to know, you have to mix oil with the gas. If you don't get mixture right, you spit oil out of tail pipe. Just upgraded to a 4 stroke. Only complaint I have so far is the clutch sucks.

      I will hav'ta agree... 2stroke is too much maintenance!! 4stroke is much better, pull & go!! Clutch does suck, but 4stroke is the way to go!! Won't go back to a 2stroke!!

    Hey mate, that was a good little comparison. I've been weighing up whether to go with a 2 stroke or 4 stroke for my first build. But I think I'm just gonna forgo these smaller engines and go with a GX120 clone with a 30 series CVT. There's a lot of hills where I live and I'm not the lightest guy around, so I think I'll need that extra torque.
    Anyway, great video. Cheers!

      Yeah, thanks, that would be pretty cool. I'm thinking about getting up to something bigger too, got the need for speed and these little ones don't cut it.

      just keep in mind, these are bicycles. Anything over 3.5hp and you'll start to bend stuff. Also, you'll need a wide crank for a 4 stroke. Especially for that GX120.

    2 strokes are slow stock out of the box but if you remove the cap on the muffler or modify the muffler and take off the air filter you will be hitting 32-34 mph if not more with 26” tires and it’ll have way more torque..seriously you should try it, it’s very easy to make even more power.
    The 4 stroke you really can’t do anything to them.

    The 4 stroke is a little smoother and quieter. It is also somewhat slower. Rejet the carburetor one size larger.
    The 2 stroke is a little rougher running and has a more distinctive sound.
    I like both but prefer the 4.

    idk bro I got 37.5 mph on my 2 stroke and all I did was open the exhaust pipe a bit at the bottom and switch a few things around.

    • @jessepittspittstop
      @jessepittspittstop  11 місяців тому +1

      Yeah, this bike is bone stock, just wanted to give both bikes a fair test as they come out of the box, but yeah, definitely a lot of fun to be had with these things.

    80cc for a 2 stroke should be better than that, my 50cc heavy Derbi Senda trailbike does 50mph no problems. I'm not sure about the whole kit, but that exhaust definitely limits the performance, alot. What little research I've done shows 2 strokes are pretty damn dependent on the size and shape of the exhaust, it's pretty much connected to the powerband and rpm's. Try fitting a proper one and you should see some real performance, either find a exhaust geared towards low rpm power for more quiet but slightly less hp runs, or a high revving one where the major power kicks in at 9k RPM and above.
    4 strokes on the other hand are more... slow and steady no matter what you do honestly, I haven't been able to ever get one to be "fun", but take care of them and they're reliable atleast. And ofcourse have a more even powerband over the RPM's.

    • @jessepittspittstop
      @jessepittspittstop  11 місяців тому +2

      Yeah, I think with these Chinese motors they pretty much just chuck whatever works on there, but I think you're right, exhaust is where it's lacking. Probably good to try something else

    is there a way to start the 4 stroke, without the pull start? Like a running start so to speak.

    • @jessepittspittstop
      @jessepittspittstop  9 місяців тому +2

      So this one has a centrifugal clutch, which is automatic, so when you hit the throttle, it grabs and pulls you forward, unlike the 2 stroke. So no, since you can't manually operate the clutch, there's no way to pedal start or push start the 4. Hope that answered your question.

    stand closer to the mic and dont talk outside on a windy day, if you stand on the side of the house that blocks the wind itll be better you might have to make a chain guard cover around most of the chain to keep it in line

    On the four strike I watched a guy slide the motor forward and eliminate the tensioner on the back all together. By the 80 not that clinker 49 cc. Too small a motor for any bike.

    How much louder is the two stroke than the four stroke, like is it really loud compared to the four stroke or is it just an “eh” bit louder

    • @jessepittspittstop
      @jessepittspittstop  11 місяців тому +1

      Yeah, it's not a ton louder, the 2-stroke. I don't really notice a massive difference, but I would say the 4-stroke a little quieter.

    You're not exactly giving the whole story. The 4 stroke can be boosted for power by reaming the carb jet to .026 and opening some 1/4 holes in the carb cover, and also going to a smaller rear sprocket, say 36-41 teeth. With these changes, you would get about 32-33 mph with the 4 stroke.

  • @user-vw7bp9qt9i
    @user-vw7bp9qt9i 10 місяців тому +1

    4 stroke much more reliable to get more top end on the bikes replace the rear sprocket to a 38 tooth on the 2 stroke and a 36 tooth on the four have a great day

      Thanks for the recommendation. My personal experience with these specific bikes has made me a two stroke fan, however this 4 stroke build was a mess. I think it gave me a bit of a bad taste of what 4 stroke can be. I love 4 stroke, just wouldn’t recommend it for these bikes.

    • @thesausage351
      @thesausage351 10 місяців тому

      @@mikoskjv That 2 stroke is labouring and running too rich at the top end and the pipe is too restricted. Both things slow a 2 stroke down and kill your top end speed. Personally I prefer a 4 stroke, I’ve ridden both in sizes from 125cc - 600cc and my riding style is better suited on 4 strokes. I ran an RM500 2 stroke for a few months and just hated it. It was 5000rpm of nothing and 2000rpm of it trying to throw you off it and kill you.
