You’re such a dear to unpick that beautiful collar! Thank you for making such a complete tutorial. I followed along making mine and thank you for the success I experienced. Subscribed!
This has been an invaluable sewalong: had I not seen this, and had a sleeve to put in that had extra material, I would have panicked. However, now I have seen how you would 'ease' the sleeve in place without puckers, it has given me confidence. Many thanks.
Great sew along. I have leant so much. I printed out the pattern and stuck it all together. I had to print all sizes as I couldn't print in layers! Atelier Brunette didn't give a legend to show which lines were which size! Also took me a while to realise that seam lines were shown. Anyway, by seeing your print out it confirmed which line was size 10. I am ready for Rachel's (Stitched up ) sew along tomorrow. Thanks for doing this video.
I can see why you love this pattern so much. Your trick of using the bias of the sleeve to ease it into the arm:hole - simply genius! Looking forward to many more sew-alongs.
This is a fantastic video, Andrea. I love your technique of using your knee for the collar. I tried it on the Bonn dress I'm making at the moment and it worked a dream first time!! I'm prepping the Frida pattern and gorgeous viscose I got from you over the Christmas. I'm admiring your beautifully overlocked seams. Any advice on overlocker settings to get mine to look like yours, I just can't seem to get it right! Thanks 😊
Thank you for this very wonderful instructional sewing video--it is a huge help. I have just completed a Frida and wonder why there is a curved sewing line on the front yoke pattern piece? My centre front seam did not come out straight (the centre yoke is on an angle) and yet there is a straight front band that must be sewn onto the centre seam (which is angled). I struggled with this and wondered if you might have any input. Thank you, Andrea.
I’ve just finished my first Frida blouse, aided and abetted by your wonderful sew along 😃. You are so clear and concise Andrea; the camera angles are spot on and you even went above and beyond by unpicking the collar. I’ve learnt so much and am thrilled with my new blouse. Thank you so much. You really are a star xx
Just started watching your videos and fell in love with just about everything you have made. All are beautiful. While going through some of your videos I came across these wonderful blouses you have made and love, love, love the fabric choices. The one with the bows really caught my eye. I know it’s been a while since you made them, but where did you purchase them? Can’t wait to see more of your videos. Keep doing what you are doing, it’s great. Your instructions are great.
Looked quickly on your fabric store website but I didn’t see either of those fabrics. By any chance are you able to get either of those fabric prints any longer? I was so surprised when you said you had your own fabric store which I think is the greatest 😊😊😊
I have now finished my Frida blouse, as I said before, great video. Most of all, the way you put it sleeves, stretching the fabric! I have been sewing for over 60 years and have not seen that method. Why not! My sleeves were perfect for the first time ever! Thank you so much.x
That’s the best part of Sewing Christine isn’t it , there’s always something new to learn . I actually learned that technique while on a millinery course . We had to cover button blocks with silk and have them wrinkle free. Our tutor showed us how to manipulate the bias . Life changing 😊
Great sew along Andrea! You really have the best sew alongs/tutorials 👍 I never fail to pick up a tip or two from you. And what’s even better is that you sew properly - finishing seams, pressing as you go; the inside of your garments looking as beautiful as the outside! Well done - there are a few people doing UA-cam tutorials that should watch you to see how it’s done ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Ah thank you very much Lynne, that’s so lovely of you .. I don’t know how to sew any other way , old school pressing and finishing . My mother wasn’t fussy when it came to sewing but she was fussy when it came to teaching me how to do things right x
Your easing in of the sleeve head was beautifully done and was so clear to see on the video. Well done for struggling with the tripod - it was worth it. I really love your sew alongs.
Thank you Andrea. I learned a lot from watching this and your voice is so soothing. I had just sewed a collar back to front on a tee shirt as you did your collar for second time. You kept me calm! X
Thank you very much for the sew along, I found it very informative especially your technique for sewing in the sleeves, I always seam to get puckers so I will give this method a try on my next blouse. I love the speed, (nice and steady) and also the clarity of your instructions and photography. Looking forward to your next sew along. Xx
Hello Andrea I’m just in the middle of making mine and was amazed that you enclosed the front yolk as well I must admit I did wonder why the patter didn’t do it (next time x) I was a bit confused with the instructions about the double fold button band that’s why I searched you out ,glad I did ,I learned about the front yolk .all of yours look lovely .so thanks again for your sew alongside you keep me calm and that’s not easy 🤣🤣🤣🤣🙏
Really enjoyed your sew along Andrea it’s amazing all the angles you get I will definitely feel a bit more confident having watched as last time I did a collar like that I messed it up! 🤣 I love that fabric it is sooo soft. Thanks again you’re a ⭐️⭐️⭐️💕
Andria you such an amazing teacher. I am so afraid of doing buttonholes and plackets but after rewinding your tutorial again I might have the confidence to have a go. Better still you could do a b&b and include a class over a weekend.🥰. Joking of course xx
Just lovely! Wonderful explanation. I just found you, the front door of my home is pink! I’m in the United States, in the Midwest and a pink door is not the norm. Take care!
I always love your sew alongs, I had sewn a number of patterns after watching your see alongs because you give me the confidence , inspiration to have a go myself x
Thank you so much Andrea, I love your sew a longs. Beautiful fabric and the blouse looks super. I'm adding it to my very long list of Spring/Summer makes
Thanks for this Andrea, great sewalong! Great to see how you deal with the ease on the sleeves, I’ll try that technique. I’m going to join the sewalong for this in a few weeks, so seeing this beforehand was very helpful indeed. Thanks again and beautiful blouse😻👏👍
A very big thank you Andrea. I have just finished my first Frida blouse following your sew along and found it incredibly helpful. It’s a beautiful pattern and I see many more in my wardrobe xx
Thank you Andrea! This was very clear and helpful. I hope you won't be discouraged by the filming gymnastics from doing more sew-alongs. It didn't look awkward from this end at all. Your Fridas are all lovely! I look forward to making one up with you by my side.
Thank you , that’s good it didn’t look awkward.. I think I was just having one of those awkward days where I dropped everything .. you know the kind! I love doing sewalongs , no I won’t be discouraged 💕
LOve your sew alongs I have that material haven't done anything with yet, and now packing to move. Love the Idra dress from mood society, would love to see a sew along for that.
I do love watching you sew Andrea. So grateful for you demonstrating your own methods and expertise, it really helps me understand the process more clearly. Am now even feeling braver about giving this blouse a try. Thank you!
Bravo Andrea! Bravo. The blouse is lovely and I could just hug you for the way you’ve shown to ease a sleeve in. That made more sense to me than any way I have ever tried. I can’t wait to try my luck. Thank you for the time you put into this sew along… it is so helpful.
Yay , I’m delighted you could see how I sew my sleeve in. I hoped I’d managed to get the camera angle good enough to make sense . Thank you … best of luck
Bless you Andrea for going to the trouble of unpicking. That must have been a nightmare in that fabric. Such a pretty blouse. I’m now very tempted to get the pattern. ❤️
Oh Lynn.. I couldn’t believe it . But I just got out the unpicker and took my time. Was very surprised the collar wasn’t destroyed and stretched in the process.. lesson learned , empty memory card more often 🤣
Thankyou so much for the Atelier Jupe sewalong. I've already made this blouse in a cheap viscose to test it and made a complete hash of the bottom of the button band and the garment ended up way too short. Your method made far more sense than the pattern instructions. Your method for inserting the sleeves is genius. Now I can use my good viscose with more confidence.
Hi Andrea I was sewing whilst watching your sew along today. Attaching a collar similar to the one you were attaching. The method on my pattern was to attached the facing to the garment them sew the other part of the collar to the facing. I have done this pattern 4 or 5 times now and always struggle. Unfortunately for me it was too late for me to do it your way! Will definitely be trying your way next time. Another learning Day! Thanks for the Sew Along Andrea.
Oh that sounds like an awful method Wendy . I’ve never done it that way . Ah everyday is a school day in sewing is t it . I’m delighted my sewalong helped for the next time .
Hello Andrea, thank you for your Frida sew along, really appreciate the work you put into making these videos. The way you explained how to ease the sleeve into the armhole was excellent and I will definitely be trying that method. Your finished blouse looks beautiful. Thank you 💐
Thank you very much . I was worried the camera might not pick up what I was showing in my sleeve insertion method so it’s great that you found it helpful .. thank you 😊
Thank you so much Angela! This is such a great sew along! I have now cut out some extra front pieces for my blouse because your finish was so neat that way! Thanks again.
Thanks Andrea a great sew along and very interesting to see an expert sewer techniques. I loved the easement of the sleeve head as I always thought it was me not allowing the correct seam allowance when I sew and so have extra fullness. I was also surprised that you did not cut down your seams after sewing to make them less bulky. Thanks again.
Glad you enjoyed . No I don’t trim back seams on viscose . It’s so light , I dont feel the need. I like this pattern particularly because there’s a smaller seam allowance left on the collar which is where I would normally trim back . I think this is very clever of the pattern drafters , very professional .
I’ve re ordered the lovely animal viscose that sold out last week and there’s a new one which looked blue to me so I ordered it , thinking you’ll like it
This is brilliant, Andrea. So many useful tips. Your filming was great, and I think you went above and beyond in unpicking and resewing the collar. I will definitely give it a go. Thank you!
Thank you very much Eileen. Delighted to hear that you thought my filming was great , I never quite know if I’m getting the filming close enough to fully see what I’m doing . Ah the collar .. lesson learned to keep the memory card emptied 😊
Thank you so much for your helpful video. I've just bought and printed the blouse, and couldn't work out why the finished product has come out so small... but you've solved the mystery for me - it seems I've cut along the inner lines, rather than including the seam allowance. It gets a little confusing when printing the A4 pattern as there are so many different lines on there. It's such a nice blouse that I'm going to re-print the pattern and start again, thankfully I've enough spare fabric!
Just finished watching. My heart started beating faster as you did the buttonhole, all that work that could be ruined in an instant lol I have just finished a blouse and starting another, hopefully the collar on my next one will be better as you explained when to clip and when to notch so well. Also, my sleeves went in well but always great to see what to do if there is a lot of difference between the sleeve and bodice. Thank you so much Andrea. Debbie x
You’re very welcome Dee. Delighted you found it helpful .. oh yes lol I know re the buttonholes .. i kept my husquvarna machine just for it’s fantastic buttonholes . I love my pfaff but the buttonholes are awful .
Thanks so much for doing this sew along Andrea! I have always been interested in making a Frida since you first mentioned it so I am really looking forward to Rachel’s sew along . I am a little nervous though as I haven’t made a more detailed blouse for a while. Thanks for all the great tips and I always learn something from your videos😁💕
Great tops Andrea - loved the easying in side stretch I'll definitely use that. Thanks and look forward to the next one with your camera lampooned around your head 😀
Thank you Andrea for a lovely sewalong and bless you for unpicking the collar and doing it again just for our benefit! You always do an amazing job of explaining your process of putting garments together and I hope to make a Frida for myself very soon. The blouse looks just stunning 🥰 even in its unfinished state and can’t wait to see you modelling it soon!
Thank you Liz.. ah the collar 🤦♀️. I’d got that far so I just had to unpick and repeat . Delighted with the finished blouse . Pop over to my Instagram to see it. I totally forgot to add pictures at the end when I did the editing .
Thankyou Andrea, this looked like a lovely sew, and the colours look fabulous on you. I’ve had my eye on Frida for a while now and you’ve inspired me to go ahead and get the pattern. I love the idea of getting their paper pattern but my impatience for making it means I’ll settle for the PDF. Thanks again for the sew along.
Hello Andrea. I bought this pattern (in PDF form as I reside in Australia) after seeing your makes in a previous video (I also bought the Deer and Doe one too), it certainly is a lovely pattern and I am looking forward to making myself one or ten.... Do you mind if I give you a "little tip"? When you sew the collar especially around round corners, please don't clip it with triangles. You are much better off sewing this with a small stitch length and just clipping it as 'normal'. When you clip with triangles you actually 'weaken' the seam. I have learnt alot of great sewing techniques with Islander Sewing. They teach you how to sew like the professionals and using your machine to its true potential. They also advocate for not using pins like you normally would, it is truly worth looking into I reckon you would find it interesting. Thank you for this video I love watching your sew a longs. I also love the fabric that you stock in your shop, unfortunately, because I live in Australia postage in really expensive from Ireland (and anywhere actually, which is disappointing). Take care and sending hugs from 'Down Under'
Ooh thank you very much for the tip Allison. I’ll definitely look up Islander Sewing , you’re right , I’d be so interested. I’ll give that technique a try on my next collar for sure . Really appreciate it. Sorry that shipping is so expensive, I guess it has a long journey . We use UPS to go internationally and the costs are rising all the time .Our national post here in Ireland is shocking expensive even to post around our own country . It’s very hard on small businesses 💕
It’s a lovely pattern . The collar is honestly the only tricky but about it but it is drafted really well and fits together nicely like a good jigsaw puzzle
Wonderful work Andrea, in both the blouse and the sew along, top notch production (in my opinion). I’d been avoiding checking out the Atelier Jupe patterns, now I have 4 patterns in my Wishlist and 2 in my basket! I’ll have to put orders in for specific sew alongs 😃.
Ha ha, I am really impressed with the Atelier Jupe patterns so I may do another sewalong soon. They sent me an email of the next new patterns snd there’s another blouse coming eek 😊. Thank you re the production .. I always hope that I’m capturing the process well so thank you , delighted you thought it was good 😊
Absolutely gorgeous blouse. You have inspired me! Thanks so much for taking the time and trouble to film. I really enjoyed watching you work and I definitely learned a lot. 👍❤️
Brilliant Andrea. Thank you so much for your sew alongs always appreciated. I have made a muslin with this pattern and struggled with the collar I think the fabric stretched. I have been waiting for your sew along. I always learn something from yourself whenever you do a sew along you just can’t beet learning from a professional. Great advise about the sleeve insert. 😊
Ah that’s super Carol . Collars are tricky sometimes . I find this interfacing is great for keeping the pieces stable… even after unpicking and re installing the collar , mine hadn’t stretched out
Hi Andrea just love your videos they are so helpful and full of wonderful tips. Thank you for another pattern for my list. I am in the middle of making the lago tank at the minute. 🤪 😁
You’re such a dear to unpick that beautiful collar! Thank you for making such a complete tutorial. I followed along making mine and thank you for the success I experienced. Subscribed!
Loved this blouse in particular the black and white polka-dotted bows! But they were all beautiful!
Brilliant sewalong Andrea, I did however struggle to ease the sleeves in, nearly lost the will 😮😅😊
This has been an invaluable sewalong: had I not seen this, and had a sleeve to put in that had extra material, I would have panicked. However, now I have seen how you would 'ease' the sleeve in place without puckers, it has given me confidence. Many thanks.

That was very informative. Watching you set in that sleeve, I kept thinking of a fabric whisperer!
Great tips! Very helpful. I’m going to have a go
I can see why you love this pattern so much. Your trick of using the bias of the sleeve to ease it into the arm:hole - simply genius!
Looking forward to many more sew-alongs.
Thanks Andrea you did a fantastic job!
Fabulous sew along Andrea. I’ve made my first Frida blouse. 😊😊
Well done! Definitely enjoyed and appreciate your efforts!
Brilliant sew along with some really useful tips - thank you 😊
Finally getting to this pattern. Thank you for the sew-a-long and sharing the “Andrea Method”. ☺️
Thanks 😊
You explained everything so well Andrea, thank you, I’m inspired to get the pattern and have a go xx
You’re welcome , delighted you are inspired by it 💕
Thank you so much for a great tutorial! You do wonderful work! 👍

Thank you for the sewalong it was brilliant
Lovely fabric choice and you explained the making up so well. I love your sewalongs and please can you do more.

Thank you very much . I have my own fabric shop… how lucky am I ! Www.beyondthepinkdoor.com
Looked quickly on your fabric store website but I didn’t see either of those fabrics.
By any chance are you able to get either of those fabric prints any longer?
I was so surprised when you said you had your own fabric store which I think is the greatest 😊😊😊
I'm so glad I watched this one. I've always hated putting in woven sleeves. Thus is the best video showing how to ease in a sleeve.
Great sewalong Thankyou Andrea! So relaxing to watch and listen to you x
What a fantastic sew along Andrea. Your instructions were very clear. Thank you once again.
Thank you Libby, you are most welcome 🤗
I have now finished my Frida blouse, as I said before, great video. Most of all, the way you put it sleeves, stretching the fabric! I have been sewing for over 60 years and have not seen that method. Why not! My sleeves were perfect for the first time ever! Thank you so much.x
That’s the best part of Sewing Christine isn’t it , there’s always something new to learn . I actually learned that technique while on a millinery course . We had to cover button blocks with silk and have them wrinkle free. Our tutor showed us how to manipulate the bias . Life changing 😊
Thank you so much for talking about the pattern details! Your blouses are lovely.
Beautiful blouse Andrea and that goes above and beyond taking the collar off… thank you so much as always clear and precise..take care xx
I love how it turned out Sally . It’s so pretty xx
Thank you for doing that collar twice, just so we could see how you finished it! It's a beautiful job!
Great sew along Andrea! You really have the best sew alongs/tutorials 👍 I never fail to pick up a tip or two from you. And what’s even better is that you sew properly - finishing seams, pressing as you go; the inside of your garments looking as beautiful as the outside! Ah thank you very much Lynne, that’s so lovely of you .. I don’t know how to sew any other way , old school pressing and finishing . My mother wasn’t fussy when it came to sewing but she was fussy when it came to teaching me how to do things right x
Thank you for a very thorough and informative sew a long. Really appreciate your hard work
You give the Nicest Easy to follow directions. I love your sewalongs. Thank You Andrea.
Glad you enjoyed it Cindy 💕
Great help, thank you! I love the double front yoke and will be using this again.
This is a fantastic video. I’ve bought the Frida pattern and I’m so excited to make it, if incredibly apprehensive!
Bless you for unpicking the collar so we could see the whole process! Camera angles are top notch. Extremely useful sewalong. Thanks so much!🐈⬛🐈⬛
Thank you very much , delighted to hear that ❤️
I'm using your tutorial as a guide now that I have the pattern. Thank-you so much for showing it as clearly as you did!
That’s super Karen , hope you love your Frida as much as I love mine
Excellent! Just got the pattern and I hope hope I have the beautiful results you did!
Your easing in of the sleeve head was beautifully done and was so clear to see on the video. Well done for struggling with the tripod - it was worth it. I really love your sew alongs.
Really good tip on easing in the sleeves using the bias - thank you!
Thank you for the sew along and good tip for the double yoke at the front.
Thanks Susan , glad you found it helpful . It looks so lovely on the inside with the double yoke
Fabulous sew along Andrea, your attention to detail has really helped. 😊
Thank you Andrea. I learned a lot from watching this and your voice is so soothing. I had just sewed a collar back to front on a tee shirt as you did your collar for second time. You kept me calm! X
I have to put that pattern on list after seeing that great sewalong and the beautiful end result.
It’s so lovely Catherine . Our make lists are never ending arent they ❤️
Thank you very much for the sew along, I found it very informative especially your technique for sewing in the sleeves, I always seam to get puckers so I will give this method a try on my next blouse. Great video - loved the bias stretching, sleeve easing technique! ❤️ I’m just cutting mine out - Thank you 💕
Once I've the pattern, I'm in. Excellent sew along. Thank you 🙂
You’re very welcome 😊
Bless you Andrea for going to the trouble of unpicking. That must have been a nightmare in that fabric. Such a pretty blouse. I’m now very tempted to get the pattern. ❤️

Thank you very much . I was worried the camera might not pick up what I was showing in my sleeve insertion method so it’s great that you found it helpful .. thank you 😊
Thank you, you explained the make beautifully. I learn so much from these sew-alongs.
You’re very welcome 😊 Delighted you found it helpful
Based purely on your sew along I am going to purchase this pattern and make a few shirts for the summer. Thank for such a informative vlog.
Ah super Michelle , you’ll love yours I have no doubt 💕
Thank you so much Angela! This is such a great sew along! I have now cut out some extra front pieces for my blouse because your finish was so neat that way! Thanks again.
Thank you so much Andrea - I’ve watched it twice and you make it so clear. I’ve started on mine now so hope it goes well. Xx

I think this is very clever of the pattern drafters , very professional .
Beautifully sewn, and so clear instructions.Thank you so much Andrea.xx
Thank you Jean xx
Thanks Andrea. Great sewalong. It's so helpful to see the techniques.
Thank you so much Tracy 💕
Thank you for all that work especially the collar. I just need to get some viscose fabric which. I hope you will be getting in soon.
I’m glad my sewalong helped . It is a beautiful blouse . I hope you enjoy making your next one
Just finished watching. My heart started beating faster as you did the buttonhole, all that work that could be ruined in an instant lol
I have just finished a blouse and starting another, hopefully the collar on my next one will be better as you explained when to clip and when to notch so well.
Ha ha .. that’ll be an interesting look won’t it 🤣. It’s so hard to get the camera right into where I want to film and also sew at the same time .
Thanks for the sewalong, Andrea! I will get my fabric and pattern next week 💃,so this will come in handy 😁🤗
Ah great , can’t wait to see yours Beatrice ❤️
Thankyou Andrea, this looked like a lovely sew, and the colours look fabulous on you. I’ve had my eye on Frida for a while now and you’ve inspired me to go ahead and get the pattern. I love the idea of getting their paper pattern but my impatience for making it means I’ll settle for the PDF. Thanks again for the sew along.
Thank you Sharon , I’m the same as you , I go for the pdfs especially now since I got the printer 😊. It’s a lovely make , I’m sure I’ll be making more
It’s a beautiful blouse!
Wow love the blouse Andrea got a voucher for my birthday so I think il get one when they come in stock love the fabrics too💕
I love this pattern Carol .. I’ve a feeling I’ll be making more ❤️
Hello Andrea.
Thank you Andrea, really useful sewalong.
Thank you Louise
Thank you I love your sew alongs, the blouse is beautiful. Have my eye on the pattern but think I need to be more experienced before attempting it.
Thank you so much for watching, I’m really pleased you enjoyed it ❤️
Brilliant Andrea.
Thank you so much Jeanine. It’s such a gorgeous blouse , I’m sure you’ll love making one
I loved this sew along i think you did a great job.
Ah thank you very much Susan
Beautiful Andrea, thanks so much for this great sew along! Love the fabric and a beautiful blouse design 😍
Thank you very much Angela 💕
