  • I've been wanting a heavy duty hedge trimmer unit for use around the house and out back on my trails. Wait until you see this monster!

thank you for showing what this thing can do. This helps me decide if 82 R can help me maintain a nightmare of a hedge on my property. 100 ft long, 10-14 ft tall Thorny Olives that my wife wont let me remove

Dang that thing absolutely rips through those thicker branches! I've had trouble getting through thicker branches on cedar hedges with the kombi hedge trimmer attachment. I want to buy one of these at some point to get through those faster, because after watching you cutting with that thing, I'm sure it will!

It is a beast. I've even used it to prune apple trees.
      I am pleased with it!

Wanted to buy one of these, but couldn't justify it as my 81R will just not die! It's an absolute beast of a machine and I ❤️ it. Got the 75cm blade and after 10 years of commercial abuse, it still goes like a steam engine!!

That's awesome! I probably could have bought something smaller, but my wife asked what I wanted for my birthday and I thought "go big or go home!" Thanks for watching!

If this was the first video I found doing my research, I would have made my decision a lot sooner. Thanks for the video!

@@ModernCountryLiving I got it and put it to use for about half an hour today. Had to drive an hour and a half out of the area to get one. There is some sort of stocking issue going on. I am very pleased with it. Much lighter than expected. I was a little sad it didn't come with the guide guard out of the box, but I'm going to order one to keep myself out of trouble.

Great Video as always! Hmmm…. might have to spend some $$$ on some Stihl equipment soon.

Given the economy and inflation, it may be better to have the tools vs the money! :)

Can you still trim leafy bushes like boxwood and taxus with the 82R? I am shopping a 46 and an 82. I have a lot of heavy duty uses for the 82 but I would still need to trim my normal bushes.

Can u also use it to do finer yearly maintenance cuts? Or is it only good for rejuvenation cutting?

I know this model is more suited to cutting thicker stuff but how do you find it on trimming more delicate stuff?

    • @ModernCountryLiving

I haven't had issues using it on thick or thin. In fact, I use it to cut flowers and all sorts of things in the gardens as well as apple tree pruning.

@@ModernCountryLiving Good to hear so you can get a nice finish even on a privit or finer box hedge type hedge?

@@mattseymour8637 I don't know why not. The blades are tight so I think it would be fine.

@@ModernCountryLiving Yes as you say I have heard people use these for finer work with good results.
Will give it a try with mine.

@@mattseymour8637 Cool. Let me know how it works out. I was on the fence when I purchase mine and had the same concern. But, I've used this model with success on thick stuff and thin stuff. However, I am not a manicurist. I finer eye may say it's not as good. I don't know. :)
