  • In this video, I go through the steps to drain and refill the differential fluid on a 2017 Honda Ridgeline. Please see your maintenance minder or schedule for when this should be completed on your truck. After initial change, it should be every 30k miles for regular use (15k) for towing.
This process does not take long and only requires a few simple tools. I was able to complete it without jacking up the truck. It should be similar for all 2nd generation Ridgelines.
    Tools required:
    3/8" socket wrench
    socket extension (optional)
3/8" breaker bar (may be necessary if existing plugs are tight)
    drain pain
2-3 quarts of Honda Dual Pump fluid differential fluid - DPSF II
fluid pump for 1 quart bottles.
    torque wrench
new crush washers for drain and fill plugs: 20mm and 18mm
    Fluid I used:

Hi, Does a Ridgeline need a front end diff fluid replaced. The dealership said it did. I am struggling to find info on this. Thanks

Perhaps they meant the transmission fluid. The front would be inside the transmission and is lubricated by the transmission fluid.
