- A short film that explores the history and purpose of a facility in Monroe Township, New Jersey that was created to bring smiles and excitement to special needs children and adults. Greek's Playland and The Stone Museum have recently closed due to zoning issues. The 89 acre facility has been operating for 38 years, offering free parties and tours to the community as well as organizations throughout the state.

What an incredibly generous man…it is so sad that his park won’t continue on to make children happy.
I THINK THE LAND IS TO VALUBLE AND GREEDY LAND DEVELOPER MONGERS HAD THEIR EYES ON THIS LONG AGO. Some people a group or a coporation, ect. got the wheels in montion. This place, unfortunantly wasn't going to be save . which sucks big time ... AND AS FAR AS THE NEIGHBOR WITH THE NOISE PROB ....B.S. all that is written up and are lies. you have to show a payed off judge that garbage on paper. yeah this is over a decade scince the kind hearted man passed. i was watching Exploring with Josh on the youtube channel and came across this. NEPHEW!?? what nephew i thought The greek was an orphan. see what happens when money and land play a part.....................................The place was fun and a wonderful playpark. My father mentioned in years and years ago when he was living in N.Y. with his mom.....Enjoy your life.
I am very lucky to say that I have met Mr. Greek in the stone museum my parents and him were very good friends I grew up coming there. Very hard to see that place like that. He once gave me a Victorious book. He was a wonderful man.
Have lived in nj for my whole life and never knew about this place until i drove by it today crazy the story behind it such a shame it wont live on its extremely overgrown now
Both my parents and my older siblings worked there when I was kid and I am in this video at 2:00-2:30 lol. It’s so sad to see his dream fall apart. He was like a local Walt Disney. I would play there completely on my own when my parents worked weekends and had the place to myself unless there were tours going on. It is unreal to see this today. That giant dinosaur had a hose built in its mouth that I sprayed a guest with and got in trouble.
And again, Jack Ballo introduces the general public to amazing individuals!
I had the privilege of meeting this wonderful man about ten years ago. He took me on a tour of the grounds and I was in awe of the creativity and imagination that went into this place. Greek is a wonderful man.

I took my children to the Stone Museum many years ago. I had no idea it was a part of a larger complex concept.
Once again, the amazing filmmaker Jack Ballo, brings to the fore something wonderful that the public should know about. This is an interesting and beautiful film like his others, for instance, Destiny's Bridge...about the homeless encampment known as Lakewood Tent City.
Anything that is worthwhile should be donated to Playland in Rye NY

I used to take my children there when they were little and I got to take my oldest grandchild there as well. Their favorite was the the black room inside to see the colored rocks. I always let them buy a polished stone to remember the day. The township should be bending over backwards to help keep The Stone Museum open.

Maybe this used to be a great place, but as of now, IT’S SCARY. It’s filled with spray painted clowns, broken and dirty equipment (from the three years of abandonment), and VERY SCARY WHEN IT’S DARK

@@ryleehowlett9986 were you there recently? How is it now? I was there (not at the park but at a venue right next to it) for a wedding a few years ago, and it was dark and terrifying haha

Its run down and the Greeks nefew dont want a thing to do with it so they doin what he allways wanted not to happen bulldozing it for somthen to fill there pockets. Should be some kind of government funding for a place like this that can get help after being opem so over 15-20yrs er somthen

@@inactive7251 I have no idea they did try to do somthing like that near the end but just couldnt get the funds in the end and like I sais before the nefew jus seems to not give to shits about if it still goes on and keeps his uncles name alive

@madda8594 maybee try 1.local library they normally have all the a thing u can look threw all the towns local newspapers if the town that it is at isn't to far away to go to spend a day of reading threw piles of the local news. 2#.Find out who this "nephew" is that's selling the placa and see how he knows of it or jus go amd talk to all the older locals
@madda8594 i would love to watch your documentary. I went there as a kid, had my girl scout bridging ceremony there, attended Spotswood's 100th anniversary there in 2008, and visited with my own kid. The Greek donated materials for our girl scout silver award project. I heard the same thing about a distant relative wanting to sell off the property. Such a loss. The last time I visited was 2018, a woman nicely told us they were closed and we left for the last time. The visit before that me and my son were making our way from the tire field to the mcdonald's area when the Greek pulled up in an old dusty Mercedes to chat and give my son a polished stone. Nothing will ever be what The Stone Museum was.
