I have this same model... I have a small Battery required to power up the Garmin because of possible interference. Not sure if i am going mount it(transducer) to the Bow Trolling Motor or directly to the transom like you did.
@@barceloco and Vance Kaetsu, did you find it out? I have the same question. Fishing FinAddict , to have it running I only need to plug the fuse cable (in red) and the negative cable? The brown and blue cables aren't used at all? (considering a simple setup, as you did).
Vance Kaetsu the brown and blue wires are used to connect to NMEA 0183 devices, and to share route and waypoint information (an “in” and “out” wire to such a device).
Hey Mark, I went to the hardware store and put in a shrink wrap ring connector. It is secured to a buss bar that runs all power for my lights and switches to the battery.
I just got mine installed today and he installed the bracket to mount the transducer according to template provided. According to this your bracket is a bit high but you are still able to adjust transducer by loosenibg the screws. I hope he set mine the proper way. Are you getting a good signal?
Yep! No issues. The template isn't a perfect match for all boats. You have to take into account variances in the transom and hull that will disturb waterflow. I wouldn't worry about your placement too much, unless you're having issues.
I use a 12 v deep cycle marine battery (85 Amp hours). It is actually my starter battery and is capable to handle the fish finder too without any problems. I do have a separate battery for my trolling motor...
As this model does not have wifi conectivity, Does anybody know whether it is possible to share tracks, waypoints and routes through the datacable ? Thanks!
According to the Garmin site "You can share data if two compatible devices are connected using the blue and brown wires on the power cable or using the User Data Sharing Cable".
The resolution is the standard 1080p. So if there's a res issue it would be with playback (internet speed). As far as lighting there's only so much you can do in a garage and we're not getting paid for this so we don't have money to invest in light boxes.

Did you catch the 4200 tip at 11:55? What do you do to keep leftover adhesives or sealants from curing?

oh nice, i was worried if it wouldn't be able to be mounted to a trolling motor but it looks like it can
Also live in Charleston thanks for sharing the set up 🤘🏼

Useful info on the wiring, thanks. 👍
Are you using a bus bar for multiple gadgets. Can I just hook the wiring directly to the battery?
You can do either way
so it comes with 4 wires. +/- and two others, what did you do with the two others? couldn't tell/see from the video
Hey Vance, the other wire was supposed to be for a trolling motor mount, but I did not need/use that one.
So which ones are the ones we have to connect?

how did you hook up those small exposed wires to your battery? I'm surprised they didn't come with any sort of clips or clamps!

What is the size of the drill bit you used?
I’m not 100% sure, but I followed the instructions that were included (I believe the size was specified in the written instructions).

Just wondering if you've been able to get on the water. Hope the Striker has been working well!
Fishing FinAddict yes I was out bass fishing and caught a nice one. The fishfinder works great. Thanks
What battery did you use for your 4cv?
So you don’t drill through the boat?
Oeun Koun you can drill through . Or you can get marine adhesive and glue a block on the stern then put screws in that

Hello . The Garmin Striker Plus in the function System Language has the option Portuguese Brazil ?? Thank you and congratulations on your video .

Yeah buddy! C-l-e-m-s-o...n! Thanks so much for your support. This was one of our firsts so looking back there's a lot we'd like to improve.
