- #vlogmas Day 23 - Not the best start to Christmas. Mum is very poorly and is back in hospital. This means a changes of festivity plans for me, my Christmas day will now look somewhat different! Its time to simplify stuff and look after Mumsy whilst also looking after my own mental health. Thanks so much to everyone for your love and support for her over on the finnfam page.

sounds like you've got a good plan for the next few days/ weeks. i agree with Moosh207, christmas is about giving and love, that doesn't have to be in the form of food and material items, you're giving her the best christmas and hopefully you can give yourself a good one too by showing yourself love and kindness

Oh Finn I am so very sorry about your mum😪🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 I have spent the week caring for my partners mom. She is 85 and hospice care is helping a bit. She hasn’t much time and it is so sad. Keep taking care of yourself and good days are ahead for us. Love and peace.

I am really exhausted and low but i do feel very centred about my decision and about how the next few days will be. In fact I feel better now Im not doing Christmas, its one stress over! Thank you so much for the love, sending a ton your way too

This is what your Christmas looks like this year. It makes sense that you would want to be close to Mum with all this going on. Take away all the commercialism, and the true meaning of Christmas is about love and you want to be close to Mum this year, I understand that. Glad you're looking after yourself, stocked up with Christmas food, and doing what feels right for you. And you and Mum get to see each other on Christmas Day, even though I know we all wish that her health was better. I know a bit about your friendship with Will, and he sounds like such an amazing friend.
Thank you for sharing vlogmas with us all this year. All of what you have shared in your vlogmas' has been so meaningful and special that I feel we have all shared and continue to share the true spirit of Christmas with you, Mum, Mark, and Kirsty anyway. Christmas Day is one day, but you've bought the true meaning of Christmas to us all throughout the month of December and I've really enjoyed it and it's made me feel happy to be a part of it. I look forward to sharing Christmas Day with you when you take us to see music, visit Mum, paint, and eat cheese. I'll be getting myself set up with cheese to eat too while I'm watching it. Thank you so much! Mum surprised me and woke up a bit on Christmas day, the hospital did a turkey dinner and she managed to eat some , lifted my day!

Oh mate that's really tough. Having absent or very ill family is extra hard at times like this when everyone is making a big deal about getting together with family. Our Mum died quite unexpectedly only a few weeks before Christmas, aged only 62, and our first Christmas without her was really hard, but I realised there's never any way that Christmas _has_ to be, so I make it what I need it to be these days. You're doing really well, and have thought through your priorities carefully. What's important is what you need and what your Mum needs, when you need them. Christmas is only a date, and you can spend special time with friends and family any day. Hang in there buddy, don't forget self-care and Meetings, you'll get through this.
Im so sorry buddy, what a tough time of year for that to happen. As you say, Christmas is only another day but its so hard when everyone everywhere you go is full of festivity and thats the last thing you feel like being. I made my christmas into something which worked for me and now, approaching the new year, my flat is almost finished! Its been lovely to side step the pressure, just be there for mum and to take care of myself. Thank you for your kindness my dear friend

I am low, its such a sad time, not really sad about losing christmas, as a single man with no extended family christmas isnt that big a deal but im just so sad for mum, seeing her constantly go through this....getting well then nosediving again, is heartbreaking. Im just glad to be near to her now and be able to be there for her. Thank for your love buddy, sending a ton back to you.

I understand so much how you feel. I can't wait for xmas to be over.
I'm not sure if I told you before...I've been told there's something wrong with my blood (Possibly cancer? Yikes!) and there's also something wrong with my liver. And nobody can offer me any explanations. It's frustrating beyond belief.
I hope your mom is being given her meds on time every day. It's so difficult to trust others to care properly for our loved ones.
