This has been surprisingly validating to see someone else express how much of a shit show the renting market is atm. Looking for a place caused me so much stresss, I agree about buying a house just focusing on saving now cause no way my sanity can cope with dealing with that shit of finding another place again in a hurry.

Oh girl I lived in The Heart building in Media City for 3 years, the rent price is just ridiculoussss! Me and my partner bought our own home last year back in Yorkshire, if you can afford to do it I’d deffo recommend! Your money isn’t just going down the drain & paying someone else’s mortgage! 😂❤

Emma, I am new to your channel and wanted to say, wow how expensive the rental market is in Manchester I really didn’t know that. I think your game plan to buyis the best ever. There is a well known quote, “ If you rent, you are paying someone else’s mortgage!” Now I appreciate as a 51 year old not everyone can buy(sadly) but if you are in the position too then it’s a no brainier! But be prepared that your first home may not be as fantastic as you wanted, but remember it is yours. It is called getting on the ladder for a reason. Only spend on items you can take with you, it sounds like you love new build start sussing out developments now as plots can take over 1year to be released/ built be honest with the developers on your situation first time buyer deals are always to be made. I definitely get where your coming from I'm renting a nice 3 bed semi house in London greenwich for 1800 a month so for up north I was thinking rent would be alot cheaper. Hope you find what your looking for soon. We are buying this year it just works out so much better in the long run as rent is going up like crazy x

Hi Emma 🥰 gosh, I never realized places were that expensive. My son lives just outside of London and he pays just over £1500k a month! He was living in London and was paying £600 a month for one room in a shared house with a en-suite! So decided to look for a flat! It's in a lovely area and he likes it. There's bills, council tax, food, petrol, and he still has to live! He doesn't go out much Thank God because if he did he'd have nothing whatsoever left. It sounds cheap but with the added extras it's not. He has to pay for his wifi and didn't want to park in the car park as that's an extra £180 a month. It's ridiculous. He wanted to buy a house but the estate agents were asking for £10-15k deposit! Fair enough, it would have been cheaper in the long run to pay off a mortgage than to pay off someone else's mortgage but with the way things are going with first time buyers, he thought against it for now. His nan, my mum wanted to help him but he wants to do everything himself! I feel so sorry for young people like you who are trying to have something solid but everything is just so much expensive. Growing up in Manchester, things weren't this expensive. My mum and dad worked really hard and bought every house outright. You could in those days. How I sometimes wish we could turn the clock back to those times!! Life was so much easier then. I wish you all the luck in the world and hope you find your dream home soon. It's people like you and my son I wish I was rich because I'd buy you both the house you want and pay for it outright and then you'd have no worries 😊 never mind, you've got your head screwed on and you'll do what's right. Honestly, I checked how much you've spent on your just over £2k and it's a lot! I'm sure I'm not the only one who checked 😂 but I'm honest and saying I did 😂 aww Emma, I feel for you but I know you'll be fine and the house you really want will come to you! I'm not at the end of the vlog yet so don't know if you found anything right back to watching fingers crossed you got somewhere! Hoping you have! 19:35 girl, that could easily be big enough for an office. My sister's bedroom is perhaps half that size and she can still fit a small double bed, and her wardrobe in her room.

I had to move to hazel grove to afford a modern flat on my own - pay £775 and free parking!! But yeah it’s a bit of a bop - but so quick and easy to get to town. I wouldn’t have moved if I didn’t drive x

I don’t mean to be rude but there is 3 bed properties in Bury, Eccles for 1.2k ish 😂. I can get to town in 15 minutes in Eccles. I pay 950 for 2 bed. 😂are we on the same Rightmove. All the best though x

Is the the flat you've taken in Salford? Can't remember you've taken me on a lot of flat hunting 😂 if yeah that's where I grew up. We lived off a road called Lancaster road and it was really nice. My niece and nephew were born in Hope hospital! Salford was nice back then is it still nice?I also went to Tootle drive school and Hope High secondary school.
