I have been using one of the tactics you mentioned for a while and one that you didn't talk about but is similar and I had already been recieving benefits. Hopefully with a little luck this will work over time when I become more present. I think it actually works, you just need a good idea. And also Banksy was my inspiration xD

Feel free to share your art here. I'm sure some people (including myself) are interested and I'm sure you'll help some people in the comment section by doing that.
Either way good luck with your art and keep on going! You got this.

@@driesketelsIf everything goes well I'll make sure to come back to your channel and reveal the ideas I used which I think are kind of unique, I googled everywhere to see who had done it and couldn't find a single example), I just need them to work and finish them first so others don't steal the ideas xP
I started my idea 2 years ago but since the first step of that idea I stopped due to many reasons, but just with one intervention I already have seen benefits and results, reververations that I expected to see with the project which made me realize it actually was a good idea and it would work, but I need way more interventions. Even nation wide media started taking that intervention and using it, sadly without crediting me (but that was also part of my plan because now I have evidence of multiple nation wide media outlets and even private businesses using my image which is copyrighted for years and already contacted a copyright lawyer to see how to benefit from that the most, also a thing in progress). So, I plan on continuing that project this year if everything goes right, if it works the way I want it to work I'll share it with you and perhaps you could even use it as one of your examples :P
      Take care!

Thank you for your insightful and honest advice. I use flora and botanica grown on my land to create eco-prints. I then wait to see what Mother Nature reveals of herself before putting my handmade pigments and inks to paper. The alchemy is otherworldly. So I am intrigued to learn more about your lightning bolt art, it sounds fascinating Dries.

@driesketels well I recognized Andre, but I knew that he was no longer with us, so it was unusual to see his face plastered on a pole. Then the wording was odd. I don't recall if I tried to look it up at the time, but it definitely intrigued me, enough to take a photo.

Great ideas, sadly no one is going to cry “Eureka! Why didn’t I think of that before? It’s one thing picking apart the marketing genius of artists past and present, quite another dreaming up ideas for yourself. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. I have a neighbour who is posting his guerrilla art around town, he’s been doing it for months now, you must’ve heard of him? No exactly. I agree with you about instagram but I noticed you didn’t mention the obvious - Start a UA-cam channel!

    • @driesketels

Starting a UA-cam channel is not really in line with the title 'without social media'. But it's a good topic and is likely going to be my next video or the video after that one... A bit scared though because I'm not sure if my audience wants a video on UA-cam, we'll see.

So basically, don't work for the algorithm from the comfort of your home and your own narrative: adapt to already existing narratives even if they're not yours (mostly political) and go out of your way to create large-scale time-consuming pieces or have the luck of your life.
I'm sorry but this is a no from me. BTW your first example of artists that act like circus clowns is Lily Rose Burgess, who has nearly 200k followers and sells everything she does. There's no shortcut: be consistent year after year, create great art, and reach out to your local art communities. I promise things will come.
And to this yt channel: I've followed you for a long time now, but it seems like you're just selling smoke to get views. I'm sorry to say I'm unsubscribing.
