I'm trying to catch-up since I started getting behind watching my Favorite Crafty Content Creators at the end of January! LOL! Its been a tough week for sure! I'm so glad I came back to finish watching This particular video because I heard you said, "Such Is Life" & I instantly got Chicken Bumps! (Full-Body Chills!) My Nana used to say that ALL THE TIME! This may sound silly, but it almost felt like I was somehow "lead" to watch the rest of this video... Just so My Beloved Nana coukd allow that random phrase, "Such Is Life," To really "Jump Out" at me... Reassuring me that Everything Will Be EXACTLY As It Should Be! Nana ALWAYS said "Such Is Life" And, She also Often would say, "This Too Shall Pass." I'm Grateful that you didn't get hurt any worse than you did! I'm laye watching this, so hopefully you've healed up! This Cover is Gorgeous!!! ~🙏💙🙏Much Graditude From The Carolinas🙏💙🙏~

Sheila, I have some questions about sewing the cover. I saw you had the lace untrimmed and unsewn when you came back with the sewn cover, but what did you do with the velvet and the lining? Did you trim them to the edge of the paper or were they longer than that, and you just stitched through them and not through the cover of the book? Does it make a difference if you do trim the lace before you sew around the whole book and then sew through it along with the velvet and the lining all at once? My big concern is being able to stitch straight enough when I go around the cover so it looks nice, so I need as much help with that part as possible so I’m grateful for any information you can give. Thank you Sheila for this video. I’m going to use it when I make my first journal. Blessings to you, Bonnie

      Miss Bonnie
Sewing straight or neat doesn’t matter with our journals. If they are not straight it’s because they aren’t supposed to be straight. If they are straight it’s because that’s how it’s supposed to be. We roll with it 😉😉😉. But I left to sew my cover and when I started to sew the lace onto the cover all at one time the lace was too fragile and it just tore the lace so I decided that lace isn’t supposed to be attached with stitching. 😂😂😂. But I did trim it while I was over near the sewing machine. Then I didn’t know how I wanted to lay the lace. I ended the one segment saying I want it long and started the next saying hold the bus I want it shorter 😉😉😉. I trimmed the lace so it was where it was supposed to be. You can trim anytime you want. I was leaving it to the end because trimming all at once means to me I won’t be cutting things too short. But that’s just skill. Which I don’t have a lot of yet. I’m trying and I feel those who are also learning find it a relief that not everyone is so advanced making videos. I struggled with this project because I’ve not done many and making one on video isn’t so easy 🥴🥴🥴. Thanks for your comment and questions. If you have more please ask

And the fabric edges were longer that the core. That way it would seal the core inside. The steam a seam is like magic. No glue issues
