    Thanks so much for this. It is a godsend for a beginner! I just finished making my own blend this evening, Myrrh and Patchouli. I used clay as per your advice to help hold the scents. Can't wait to see how it turns out! Making soap is really fun.

    Today I begin transcribing every 1 of your videos. This is how I drill things into my brain, through writing. I wrote a table of contents of your main videos (35!) & just finished essential oils as my 1st (3 pages & my handwriting is tiny!) This is going to be fun. Thx again.

    Hi George, have you ever made a successful clear hot process glycerin soap?? If so, are you able to take us through the process and explain what oils make the best clear soap. Thanks for your fantastic education - kind regards, sharon.

      @DawnOrganics  Рік тому

      Hi Sharon, I have some videos on melt and pour soap if you wanted to have a look. The clearest you can get is sunflower and coconut oil. It's not clear but neutral in odor and colour which is fantastic, they are popular too 🙏🙏🙏

    Hi from the UK, thankyou for sharing so much useful information. I'm just starting my soap journey and wondered if I don't add any essential oils in a recipe that has them as an ingredient, then do I have to compensate the recipe and add a substitute ( for instance the same weight in extra oil)?

    • @DawnOrganics
      @DawnOrganics  2 роки тому +1

      Greetings Nicole, thanks for watching. Adding essential oils are optional additives and they don't have any SAP value in a recipe. Adding them or taking them away doesn't affect amount of oil or lye required in a recipe. 🙏

    Help!!! Hi George. I was planning on making Christmas soap for co-workers this year using peppermint EO. I don't want to give everyone a heart attack or make them nauseous. I'll also be using clays for red, green and white colors. Any suggestions for a safe holiday blend for the office? Many thanks! Belinda

    • @DawnOrganics
      @DawnOrganics  2 роки тому +1

      Greetings Belinda, Ohh that's a nice gesture, up to 3% is fine, I quiet like 2.5% with a cedarwood fix. You can do a little sweet orange (5 fold or 10 fold) 1.5%, Peppermint 2.5%, Cinnamon 0.3%, Cedarwood 1%. Very nice Christmassy combo 🙏🙏🙏

    Hello. Thank you for sharing. Did you find that the end result was different based on the brand of essential oil you used. I have been using some oils and I find that even when mixing with bass, middle and top notes that the smell does not always stick or is very faint. Also I usually cpop my soap. Do you think that affects the smell? Thank you!!

    • @DawnOrganics
      @DawnOrganics  3 роки тому

      Greetings thanks for commenting. No I haven't found that I source my essential oils from a few reputable wholesalers here in Australia and they are fantastic quality. There are flashpoints also you have to consider with essential oils so cpop will flash off a lot of it. I don't recommend cpop with essential oils. I don't cover mine either, I just leave them to do their thing naturally. Although I've heard covering them doesn't effect Smell. Maybe try covering them see how you go 🙏

      @@DawnOrganics Thank you for your response. What do you do about soda ash?

    • @DawnOrganics
      @DawnOrganics  3 роки тому +1

      I heavily water discount so it's hardly a problem. It sometimes happens but I leave it. If you're worried about it use a steamer to remove it 👍

    • @Kaileynorriscreates
      @Kaileynorriscreates 3 роки тому +1

      @@DawnOrganics I love it! Embracing the natural process! I have started playing with higher water discounts and I like it. It’s not as difficult to work with as I though. Thank you again!!!

    • @DawnOrganics

      Of course I think the same, I leave the soda ash sometimes it makes really cool patterns. Gives it a natural look, doesn't effect sales either customers still love it. So don't be afraid if you are some soda ash 😁 I was totally scared of the thought to water discount. So many benefits to it. I work with 25% water to oil ratio. Beautiful sweet spot 😁
