I REALLY love my Olive You Forever pallet! I really like those grays in the SheGlam. Well pretty lady I've watched almost 40 minutes but I'll definitely finish tomorrow. I love declutter videos. I just try to remember that as far as health issues go, an allergy to carmine is pretty small potatoes. Easy to avoid, and no lasting effects. I do have other food allergies as well. Not fun, but fortunately not life threatening.

OMG Tina, how many palettes, and how gorgeous they are! I had no idea you had that many. My collection looks paltry by comparison - I've been meaning to do a sort/declutter and you've spurred me on. Also you've taught me something I didnt know - that carmine comes from insects. It's such a shame you're allergic - it's like me and my fragrance allergy. But happily you have a few palettes you can still use :)
I was actually surprised by how many I have been gifted. And I was surprised by the total as well. The silver lining on the allergy is that it forced me to make some hard decisions and pare things down to a more manageable level.
That Va-Va-Bloom palette... so, my thing is, if it had a mirror, I keep that insert or I keep the protective film on it. If that mirror ever shatters, I don't want my shadows ruined by micro shards and leave me wondering if it's safe.

I've slowly been getting rid of those as well. The last hold out is my Stone Cold Fox. I need to depot the 3 shadows and then it will be safe.
Indeed! So, this afternoon I actually went back in my drawer and pulled out 2 Jeffree Start palettes (1 was the Mini Blood Sugar palette that I had used once last Christmas and the other I'd never used before, the Jawbreaker palette). I created the same look on both my eyes, using one palette on one eye and another palette on the other eye, and specifically used the shades that would have irritated my eyes or at least were on the label saying "not to be used around the eye area." I applied my go-to favorite (almost expired) Urban Decay eyeshadow primer to one eyelid and another with Anastasia Beverley Hills eyeshadow primer on the other lid. I was SO surprised. Upon application of the JS Mini Blood Sugar eyeshadows (3 reds, 1 purple, and a red shimmer) on one eye with the Urban Decay primer I did feel a little irritation at first but then it went away in less than 2 minutes. On the other eye which had the Anastasia Beverley Hills primer, I applied the JS Jawbreaker shadows - reds and purples and a red and pink shimmer - which were also supposed to be very irritating...and...I felt NOTHING at all! I don't know if it's my mind playing tricks on me, since I tend to overthink and talk myself into thinking maybe I'm having some discomfort on my eyelids, but it's been a good 5 hours since I applied all these eyeshadows and I am not having an issue. Maybe it's because I don't wear eyeshadow often enough, especially heavily pigmented/bright colors that have carmine or iron oxides in them. ?? I'm sorry my comment was so long, but I hope this helps someone if they're reluctant to try out palettes before getting rid of them. Especially if they bought one on a great sale (like I did) and then saw it has potentially irritating ingredients to the eyelids. @@TinaHBeautifulJourney
@irinaivanovic9792 that's awesome that it didn't irritate your eyes. For me, it isn't really my eyelids that experience irritation. But my eyes themselves burn and water and get so so red. But I agree that if you have something you love and it's a "may contain" situation, it's good to try it before getting rid of it. Just be where you can wash it off if it's an issue. I was at work once when it started for me and I had to wash my face with hand soap to stop the burning.
This was interesting! I am very sensitive to carmine too! Good to hear sigma is phasing it out. I don’t have cor de rosa but I have untamed, Diana Saldana and enchanted and have no problems. Oddly enough, I have a couple reds from cololorpop that don’t bother me. I was able to replace the offending red in my Good Sport with one that does not. Every time I have an allergic reaction to Colourpop I toss the offending shade in the trash and replace it with another.
It's just amazing that some reds have it and some don't. And it's not necessarily expensive vs inexpensive. Really glad to see companies moving away from it.
What a shame about being allergic to carmine now. You still have a wonderful collection of different palettes and colorstories. You are able to share how many companies you can use, in case someone else has the same allergy.
I wonder if this is my problem, I’ve been having very itchy, watery eyes the last several weeks. I was thinking it was my mascara though. Allergies aren’t fun, sorry you’re having this problem. Good way to make yourself clear out your collection though I guess!!
Give your eyes a day to rest if you can, then try no shadow and just mascara. If that'sOK, you'll know its not the shadow. Then try a palette you know forsnt have carmine. If thats ok, try one with. But do that on a day youll be at home so you can wasb it off if it starts bothering you. Good luck! Itchy watery eyes are aweful. ,
@@vickiecole22 I hope you can figure it out. It could also be early seasonal allergies. We've had a pretty mild winter and I noticed trees are starting to bud already.

I would start out my day fine, put on my makeup and then gradually throughout the day my eyes would tear up and be constantly itchy. Then o would wake up fine and start all over again. I stoped using the mascara I was using and it got much better, but my eyes are still looking bloodshot and itchy through out the day still.

I decluttered most of my Zoeva palettes. They are really pretty. But I just never really used them much for some reason.

You should remove shadow with carmine so you don’t use accidentally. This way you will be much safer.
For the ones that have a shadow or 2, I will likely pop out those pans to be on the safe side. Good advice.

I totally get that you're allergic to "carmine" but you don't have to literally say "carmine" this many times in a declutter video.
