I cannot be more excited to hear you are doing a step by step cardigan! I have you to thank for actually getting me to physically begin knitting-- I was something of a lurker for many years and just felt comfortable doing crochet accessories & homeware. since starting w your tutorials, I have begun to knit and am tackling the SBS sweater now!!
I am xxs, and I have to always recount and change the patterns I am buying simply because the sizing is too big. I appreciate how much people care about extra large sizing, but small skinny people also knit and I am so so so happy to see xxs in some of the patterns I love. I will def knit Celeste sweater, cant wait to cast it on! The Fennel seed color from KFO is gorgeous, I keep it in mind and still looking for an item to knit with it. Also thinking of tryings one day their cashmere. Right now I promised myself to knit from the stash until 8 of March, and not buy any new yarn. If I keep this promise, I will def buy some cashmere as a little reward :) Love your cardigan, it looks incredible! The color really matches the rest of your knitwear.
Love your fennel seed cardi! I wish that colour would suit me. Also really like the look of the cardigan. Would definitely buy it if it came out as a pattern. I don't look good in cool toned pastels (or any pastels really) but I do like them. So I very much enjoy watching you knit with those colours and then wear them 🙂 That Noro cardigan also looks great. Thanks for putting so much effort into filming the tutorial. Incredibly helpful for new garment knitters!
I didn't know that Petite Knit is now doing an XXS; that's so exciting (for me)! I've always put off knitting her jumper patterns because of the ridiculous amount of positive ease I'd end up with 😬
Hi Florence, it's so funny... I was just starting a double knitted button band when I played your video and didn't know about this no yarn braking technic. What a timing! Thank you very much for sharing! It really is life changing 😄 Love your new cardigan design by the way 😉 Sandy
"so you don't have to listen to me talking about the most overknitted pattern on knitting youtube" , me listening while knitting a second Oslo hat in a row since my fiance also wants one👀 Lovely podcast once again, love the fennelseed colour of the cardigan!
Yesssss! So many exciting projects. I’ve fallen in love with a Noro yarn lately and I can see myself knitting your Step by step cardigan with it, or maybe your fennel seed jacket. Seriously, everything looks so cute! I’m currently finishing up my first ever self drafted cardigan in a pretty blue cashmere yarn and I hope to write up a pattern for it and get it tested soon! I’m also trying to find a good filming set up and the right mindset to make my first knitting podcast. ❤
omg so excited for the step by step cardigan 🤩 I'm currently working on the step by step sweater (my first knitted sweater) and it's coming along soo nicely
Can't wait for the Step by Step Cardigan, I've actually been wanting to cast on a cardigan with this exact yarn for a long time but couldn't find a pattern that I liked that didn't use a combo of madara and mohair, so the one you're making seems to be the perfect one for me !
Apparently bouclè yarn was super popular in the 30s in the US. They made skirts with it. They talk about it in No Idle Hands, a social history of American knitting
I have never felt that I love every single project of a podcast totally touch my „I want those“…., ‚til this moment. Okay, Colorwork…, it also looks so lovely…, but I hate knitting it😬. Nevertheless, the yellow sweater (I would never have looked at a yellow yarn)…, this yellow sweater…. I MUST MUST MUST have to try to copy that. It‘s sooooooo incredibly nice 😍. Although I cannot try it with Peer Gynt as I am too sensitive. Well, if I cannot find that color in another quality I will wear a langarm shirt below…, YES! Next project will be the beige cardigan. It reminds me so much of a cardigan of my dad who sadly passed away. But I remember to have taken this cardigan from him many years ago🙈. Then I loved it and I will love it again in case I will be able to knit it like you did. Fingers crossed. And…, of course the socks…, they will follow🥰. Is it really possible that I exactly love the things you love? Great! Colors included…., beige, beige, beige…, and now yellow😂. That was really great to watch. Thousand thanks! Will see you soon!
This was a such a fun and inspiring episode, was glad to see this pop up in my subscriptions. I’m on a bit of a broken rib kick (hoping to cast on the Friday Slipover by PetiteKnit this month!) and I’m obsessed with that cardigan. The raglan detail looks so good, as well as the double knitted accents.
About the buttons, i use sewing thread to secure them and then go over it with the yarn is used for the cardigan (if the yarn fits in the holes) to "hide" the thread and make everything match. If that doesn't work I use embrodery floss or reinforced sewing thread. Also I'm exited to knit matching sets of Mountain Walk house and regular socks for my mother, my sister and myself.
Your LBA fiber sweater spin is so pretty! I'm so impressed at how far you've come so fast with spinning, you must have a natural talent for it. I got a drop spindle a year ago and a wheel this Spring and I have made a lot of skeins but about 25% turn out not so great still, overspun or overplied or sometimes just ugly. Lol. I just signed up for Nest's mixed fiber club, love all the color combos they do. Thanks for taking the time to share all your fiber activites ❤ your FO sweaters are both beautiful!
Sorry, this comment was for the last vid I watched on my "watch later" list and you tube posted here 😒 All your knitting is gorgeous as usual Florence ❤
Lovely episode and lovely projects! Your fennel seed cardigan is gorgeous! I also considered knitting the Northern Augustins No.1 as my first colourwork jumper, it's so beautiful😍 I was very confused with the gauge too, I guess I'll have to swatch and hope to find a fitting yarn! Let's see if I manage to get to it:)
Thank you for the wonderful video Florence!! I've been holding on to a sweater's (cardigan's) quantity of KFO heavy merino to knit a cardigan in, but have yet to find a pattern for it. I'm really looking forward to the V-neck double button band cardigan! I'm about the same size as you and it looks like it has the perfect amount of ease :D can't wait to knit it up!
i really wouldnt recommend putting ink on the button threads. it looks wonderful as is, firstly, but also if you ever have to wash the cardigan dark ink would either wash right out, or seep into the rest of the cardigan, staining the yarn (depending on the ink's base).
I have those extra rows at the bottom of the button band on most of my cardigans 😂. If I get interrupted when knitting them, I usually end up knitting the wrong direction when I pick it up again.
I like the little subtle detail that the lighter yarn gives the buttons on your cardigan. I’m sure it would look fine if you colored it in, but just that little bit of contrast works for me!
I wish more designers added XXS sizes! I’m not especially tiny but half the time I end up having to grade down myself to a smaller size or make an oversized garment. It does feel like a “pale princess” situation to complain about it lol. Obviously meeting the needs of everyone on the XXL+ is very important too, but it does make my eye twitch a bit when “size inclusive” only goes down to a 32” or 80 cm chest circumference. Like I see strangers who are smaller than me all the time. IMO the buttons look fine! I like to use buttonhole twist to sew my buttons on because it’s stronger than yarn and I get anxious about yarn wearing down too quickly. Plus a small spool of thread is cheaper than a skein of yarn and there are lots of colors available.
Hi Florence, why don’t you invest in interchangeable needles or ask for a set for Christmas? They are so great and especially for people who have multiple WIPs. You can get a set of the number holders to put on your cables as you change need;es from one to the other. Really I just punch a little hole in a post it note and put the needle size on the cable then use the little bar to hold the stitches shut when I change to a different WIP. I like the Addi turbos and Addi rocket 2 (square needles) and have never liked the drag of wood, or the fact that people break needles so easily. But whatever is your favorite to work on you will get a full set, you can buy extra cables and then it won’t matter how many WIPs you have going. I’m loving all of your designs. The socks are beautiful, and I don’t normally knit socks!
Hearing you say that petiteknit sizes usually come out big makes me wonder if I'm a tight knitter, as mine always come out small! Perhaps this is a sign that I need to do swatches before jumping into a pattern :')
Hi Florence, Just wondering where you purchase the Sadnes Garn Perfect yarn in the UK? Looking forward to making your lovely socks. Thank you for all the inspiration and I would love a Pattern for the broken rib cardigan. It's beautiful!
lovely socks! I love how a fleegle heel fits, but not sure it can be done top - down. Any insights? I'm still a sock newbie and only ever done toe - up. I think I"d like the cuff better top down also for the reasons you mention. Oh! I vote to leave the buttons as they are. I like the contrast that shows off your careful sewing.
Dear Florence! I love your channel and your knitting and I dont mind few ads, but atm I am at 21 minutes of your video and I have had already 4 ad breaks, each containing two ads you cannot skip. Is it possible for you to control how many ads there are? I cannot watch any more of the Oral B ad :D
I leave the ads on default settings since nobody complained before, but i’ll take a look now you’ve said that and perhaps take the time to place them manually in the future!
Hello! Do you have a polo type top or sweater pattern you’ve designed? I was watching Future Fiber and thought she mentioned it but I can’t find it in Ravelry. Thanks, Christina
would you consider ever making a video of how you use Excell to calculate stuf for your freehand projects? I want to learn so bad but can't find any concrete or helpfull sources!
it’s not anything very complicated! just a cell with my bust measurement, another with the intended ease, another with gauge, calculate total bust sts, and so on for neck, sleeves etc
I love how the sock yarn matches the cardigan and not the buttons.
I cannot be more excited to hear you are doing a step by step cardigan! What yarn are you using

ur so small and tiny 🥺
I love that fennel seed jacket! Would you consider making a pattern for it? I've knit your Robinson wrap and enjoy your pattern writing style!
Love your fennel seed cardi! I wish that colour would suit me. Also really like the look of the cardigan. Would definitely buy it if it came out as a pattern. right? and the celeste sweater has *only* 15cm of positive ease so it must be like … the smallest jumper she has ever released lol
@@handmadebyflorence 😂😂😂
everything you make is so inspirational - please please make a pattern for your broken rib cardigan
Hi Florence, it's so funny... I was just starting a double knitted button band when I played your video and didn't know about this no yarn braking technic. What a timing! Thank you very much for sharing! It really is life changing 😄 Love your new cardigan design by the way 😉 Sandy
Happy to watch the podcast again!
also love the fennel cardigan
That yellow looks really good on you, 🎉😮worth breaking out of your colour comfort zone !😊
You look gorgeous in pastel so it makes me very happy to see you experimenting with more colours!
I love the colour of the cardigan, looks nice and cosy.
"so you don't have to listen to me talking about the most overknitted pattern on knitting youtube" , me listening while knitting a second Oslo hat in a row since my fiance also wants one👀
Lovely podcast once again, love the fennelseed colour of the cardigan!
Haha me watching while making my eighth Oslo Hat 🙈😂 What can I say, it’s overknitted for a reason!
Yesssss! So many exciting projects. I’ve fallen in love with a Noro yarn lately and I can see myself knitting your Step by step cardigan with it, or maybe your fennel seed jacket. You pick the perfect colors for your skin tones. Beautiful
in love with your cardigan, looks so neat and chic 😍
I really hope you'll wrap it up as a pattern
That Cardigan looks amazing 🩶
I’m a crocheter, but fell in love with the beige button down cardigan! I will endeavor to recreate it in crochet. Wish me luck!
Can't wait for the Step by Step Cardigan, I've actually been wanting to cast on a cardigan with this exact yarn for a long time but couldn't find a pattern that I liked that didn't use a combo of madara and mohair, so the one you're making seems to be the perfect one for me !
Matching the thread to the cardigan rather than the buttons looks better IMO

I'm so excited for your new sock pattern! I got 3 Balls of Sandnes Garn Perfect in Stash, ready to cast on whenever you release the pattern. 🎉

I got to visit the Oxford Yarn Store on a visit to the UK from the USA. They had such a nice collection of yarns!

I love the fennel seed jacket! I would totally knit that if you turned it into a pattern
The yellow looks really lovely on you x
tip: the tutorial videos for the petiteknit patterns are also under each pattern they are relevant for

I already have and use an interchangeable set! I’m just debating getting some extra pieces (3.5-4.5mm) for my set since I use those the most
omg I urgently need to knit myself a pair of hungxiety socks
Fab video as always 😊

Hi Florence, Just wondering where you purchase the Sadnes Garn Perfect yarn in the UK? Looking forward to making your lovely socks. Thank you for all the inspiration and I would love a Pattern for the broken rib cardigan. It's beautiful!
I got it from my local yarn shop (Oxford Yarn Store) but it was heavily discounted, perhaps because they don’t stock it any more :(
You could put a couple of strands of your cardigan yarn over the stronger sock yarn maybe!
I would love to try Noro, but most of their yarns have silk and I'm just not comfortable using that unless it's ethical silk like KfO!
I would love it if you put together a pattern for your broken rib green cardigan. Its lovely! what yarn did you use?
lovely socks! I love how a fleegle heel fits, but not sure it can be done top - down. Any insights? I'm still a sock newbie and only ever done toe - up. Oslo Hat- Did you use just the Double Sunday single strand?
Hello Florence! Any chance you will be posting a "knit with me" beginner video for a winter beanie?

Could you unply some of the Marino yarn and use a strand to sew on the buttons?
How did you cast off for the double knitted neckband?
Hello! Do you have a polo type top or sweater pattern you’ve designed? I was watching Future Fiber and thought she mentioned it but I can’t find it in Ravelry.
