His production and Rise’s professional packaging made me think as a kid that these bands were recording in big fancy studios. Didn’t realize it was all DIY
Exactly! Same here
Probably the most under appreciated and underrated producer of all time
The production on with roots is amazing
That was one of the best sounding albums of its generation. I used that album to introduce friends to metal in high school. A lot of people knew disturbed and avenged sevenfold, Prada was a stepping stone into the harder stuff
The legend. Loved this full interview.
I believe he produced for a band called Sleep Serapis Sleep from Milwaukee
And With Hours Waiting in Milwaukee.
Love Joey and all his work. Such a great and talented producer. I’ve learned so much from his YT channel and I absolutely love his plugins
Yall remember that fucking site called Purevolume holy shit
yeah bro haha. Every generation thinks they grew up in the best era but being a teenagerin the 2000s was majestic.
Joey set the standard for late 2000's/early 2010's metalcore production and it was all DIY with trial and error.
Gonna see them tomorrow night
Bro i never knew he produced this album!! They were the first band that I listened to with screaming vocals when i was like 14 lol, so tdwp will always have a place in my heart haha. I watch joeys guitar mixing videos now to create my own music. So bonkers to me.
Hearing the name Gwen Stacy is a throwback. This mans name is attached to so many projects over the years.
TDWP has always been my favorite band and I happen to be wearing an old Gwen Stacy shirt while watching this. I'm so excited rn lol.
He did a really good job with Asking Alexandria as well
And unlocked Danny's full potential.
@@frederickfiliph3798 Band was horrible, but it's undeniable that Joey was entering his best years of production.
I don't feel bad at all for being a garage producer now
I remember that garage, joey chainsmoking and pounding coffee. he did some amazing shit in that small space.
You should upload a video talking about stories about that garage
@@kupo2020 from what I remember he rode a bike there, drank tons of coffee and produced bangers. One key moment was him showing us a porn dvd someone left and I nabbed it. not sure where it ended up but it's pretty funny to think about.
old myspace was amazing I don't understand why they keep it the way it is now. Like if someone would just completely copy the old myspace and fix some things about so it can be used on mobile and maybe add an event calender and just call it mypage or something you would make millions...
Legend.
Joey✌✌👏👊
🙏🙏
Joey Sturgis was the fucking man in the early 00s metalcore scene
