I love the explanation of the chord progression and the scale patterns. Back in 2005 when I started learning that intro and because I wasn't very skilled at playing the guitar (even today), so I stop practicing it. Maybe now I can try again. Thanks for inspiring me to practice that Intro again.
I'm glad you're feeling inspired by the video! I definitely find most songs/pieces to be much more approachable if you can take a step back and understand the chords/scales that are being used. Helps it to stop being frets and strings and instead becomes something musical that I can understand. Good luck!
Thanks! I'm using a Fractal FM9, and for this patch I'm running some compression, an amp block (no IR/Cab Block), Chorus, Reverb, Multidelay, and a slight detune effect with a pitch block.
The 3-1-3 patterns is very popular in many fusion players. It gives an interesting sound and is able to be played fast and smooth. Darryl Gable is a master of these
Now that I give lessons, I always ask who they know like the back of their hands and will never get tired of listening to and that helps them to be sort of their own critic and teacher and it always gets them launched.
So, I had just a SNES til the late '90s. I was in Jr high, my parents had just divorced and FF2 and FF3 with Nirvana Unplugged on CD shuffle loop, saved my life! Then when I picked up the guitar I bought a Hal Leonard Nirvana Unplugged book and because I had heard those songs so many hundreds of thousands of times I knew automatically when I was playing if it sounded correct or didn't sound correct and I tell you that really launched my plane because within months I was playing like all the grunge bands and stuff

Sounds like you had a rough time, but the fact that you had such a cool soundtrack to help you get through it is awesome!
Is it just me or it sounds extremly similar to what Tim Henson is doing here at the beginning? ua-cam.com/video/gkaQm_53RUM/v-deo.html
@@XxXsemonXxX for sure! Wouldn't be surprised if Tim took a little inspiration from Final Fantasy
