Great video and advice. I'm in the process of getting a 10x6, double-walled greenhouse and It comes with a base. Is there a preferred base for that? Thank you.
I like the tip for securing the wooden frame with rebar. That's what I took from this thanks.
But I've rethought this and am actually going to use the sleeper stakes driven into the ground and secured with the four-hole screw plate at the top.
We need competent instructors on series 1000 on how to square and plumb. The instructions are more that inadequate!!!
How if using a wood base do you figure out the band anchors connect to the banding
Could you please let me know what size cedar boards you would use for a 8.75x12 foot green house? A 4x4 or 6x6?
Took his guarantee back
can you use a greenhouse also has a toolshed? im trying to avoid having both?
We see no reason why you couldn't, but be advised the covering may be either transparent or translucent depending on what you choose to do.
Give people the idea they should use the ground inside the perimeter foundation. Everyone thinks of using pots and I am amazed at the waste of a super garden to use the larger ecosystem of the soil. Pots HAVE to have potting soil.
the problem with growing directly into the earth inside a greenhouse is that after a couple of years the soil becomes exhausted, and you have to dig it out and replace it. Pests and diseases often take hold in heavily used greenhouse soil, and can hinder future crops. A solid base and pots gives you flexibility and more control over the exact potting mix, and the watering each plant receives. Most professionals, and greenhouse manufacturers advise against attempting to grow directly into the soil in a greenhouse unless you want to make work for yourself and have poorer outcomes!
@@spencerwilton5831 Sorry, I know that statement is wrong. Soil doesn't get exhausted it only gets better. My beds are 10 years old and they do just fine. What is it that people expect from soil that makes them imagine 'using up' soil? Topsoil is JUST the top horizon, 4 to 6" of soil that has regular air and water available for plant roots and the micro and macro-organisms living in the matrix of the soil. Soil is simply a structure. Not FOOD for plants. I rotate crops and if you looked at my creds, you'll find I am a 3X Master Gardener, Master Composter, Master food preserver and I teach this stuff. Soil does not become exhausted. How did this rumor get going? It is an old wives tale perhaps? I'd never use anything other than sterilized potting soil for my pots that are in the greenhouse that help enlarge my garden real estate. No soil is ever fertile. None. It's nature's rules, nature's condom to control the population of plants. Honest.
Need better pictures, we don't need to see you talking
Bloody useless. A total waste of my time.
Music is good tho! :)
