I had the GTV 2000, belina 2000, Alfetta 1750 and a spider 2000, but my favourite Alfa was the 1.6 guilia super. The handling of this car in my opinion was the best amongst all the Alfas I have owned.also had them all fitted with auto delta close ratio gears 1,2 and 3.had them all with Auto Delta extractors. One GTV was fitted with half race cams. those were the most enjoyable pears of my life, now i am happy to watch Alfas on youtube.I am 79 now.
Eighty-one year old here who owned two Spiders and a Berlina 2000 in period. The correct designation for this Type 115 coupe is "GT 2000 Veloce." Alfa Romeo itself did not use the designation "GTV" until the later Type 118 transaxle cars.
Throdle Thanks for sharing this car with us. These things are amazing drivers, such tactile feedback from the driver controls too, and so darn handsome to look at! I wish we could have cars like this today. Sad in the USA that people have never truly appreciated these types of cars.
when I was about 23 I used to see a GTV where I parked my car and lusted for one but couldn't afford it. I did get brand new 1969 Fiat 124 coupe though. it was a revolutionary car for the time dohc engine 5 speed transmission,4 wheel disc brakes came with Michelin X tires all for $3100 $95 a month but of course that was a weeks pay at the time.
Hey Shan, I see you are driving around Windsor in the Alfa, which is where I also live. I've just got my Orange (It looks like I've been tangoed) 1600 GT Junior back on the road after 18 months of fixing up, which doesn't look as nice as your GTV, especially as it is a South African import but I'll keep an eye for you when I'm out and about, to compare stories!
The color is called "Ochre" after the mineral. "Junior" was the designation used for 1300 cc engined cars. Your 1600 cc was simply called "Sprint GT." The later ones were "1750 GT Veloce" and/or "GT 2000 Veloce." People frequently refer to them as a "GTV" but that designation was first used by the factory on the later Type 118 transaxle cars never on the Types 105/115 ones.
Had a superb 1750 GTV in London in 1969. In my “ senior years” am looking at a possibility in Australia!! What does 105 mean in the specs of this car? Andrew R.
Yes, radio was usually dealer fitted. The car's console had the speaker holes and covers from the factory. Not sure if the factory fitted the speakers though.
I thought it was a series 2 too, so can't be 1968. Indicators in the body are a give away, unless of course the front panel has been replaced ... which happens
RH 1968 Alfa Romeo 1750 GTV classic Bertone definitely is just as good as the classics. Speed is good but a dependable Alfa Romeo at 120 mph is great driving on a country road.
Memories. Mine was just like this one, 1750GTV Gold Clover Leaf, minimal original mileage and white too. Still regretting having sold it 30 years ago. More pleasure and joy to drive than my then girlfriend's brand new BMW 3 series...
Correct, it's a series 2, another give away are the bumper overriders and the air filter with the snorkel. I have a 1969 series 1, owned since 1974, all original, all numbers matching, just a fabulous driving machine !!
What's your favorite Alfa Romeo model?
Giulia, qv and veloce , 156gta, giulietta 1750. 4c, 8c
'71 Giulia 1300ti, '74 Berlina 2000, Alfetta GTV. That little GTV of yours needs rear suspension springs, they're sagging badly...
65 Giulieta
If you want to give proper design credit - Giorgetto Giugiaro designed it for Bertone. Bertone had many designers work for them.

I had a 67 GT SPRINT VELOCE stepnose built and driven in South Africa. Came with Weber carbs and reached an indicated 125 on a newly opened motorway

So glad to hear you liked it! Definitely the classic Alfas could use more love!
@@Throdle Always appreciate a reply from the channel owner. Happy New Year to you and your entire staff and families.
@@watershed44 you as well! Happy holidays!

Maybe now’s the time!
I used to have Goodyear g 800’s in a 185/70
They were perfect, in the day. Wider but still with sidewall give.
Wow fantastic.
Congratulations on really cool review. Why do you say the Dellorto carbs are the best? Do they atomise better?

105 was the platform all the Alfa's of the time were built on.
It doesn't have a radio, but, it does have speakers. (just in case)

I’m not sure about the year of this car, it seems a model of 69 or 70.
It's a GTV 1750 series 2. 1971 - 1972.
I thought it was a series 2 too, so can't be 1968.

Mines a ‘70. Blinkers on the body not bumper, like this one
I prefer the classic Alfa Romeo's to the modern ones. They're far better designed.

Someone messed up the rear wheel arches 😢
I got one the right hand drive,,from m'sia..
Indeed, the world is driving LHD… and with Brexit, the UK will see less and less cars produced for the ‚wrong side of the street‘
True! But it’s arguable who is the wrong side of the street 🤣😉
If it was a 1968 it would make it it a 1750 Series 1. This is a Series 2, so it must be a 1970 or 1971.

@@alfamontydog Yes.. Bumpers, indicators/parking lights in the front, interior.. All series 2.
This Is not a 1968! Is a second séries of 1750 1970-71......
But the Stearing is on the wrong Side. 😂
Hahaha not for some!
