I feel so sorry for people who can not afford to buy a decent car, no matter how little they play, when a car is like this one, it has no value at all unless it would be parts. It is purely cheating people.

No you should not have any sympathy for them whatsoever they know the rule most of them are just ignorant, Impatient, and Lazy, people just let the owner know you will only be open to buying the car if he will sign a 7 day agreement allowing the car to be thoroughly inspected if anything major is determine during that time the agreement can be rescinded if they refused walk because most times if they don't agree there is a reason 💯

If anything, that should really be the default assumption-that used car dealers are “sketchy” by definition. Sure, there may be good guys here and there, but most are there to make money within what’s legal (but not necessarily ethical). That’s why we need to know what as-is sales entail and be smart about guys like this defendant, that would put some lipstick on a junk car and sell it “as is,” claiming that it is a good car. There is nothing illegal about this unethical practice.

I replaced the intake manifold gasket, that stopped the misfire. Replaced the alternator fixed the stalling issue with the transmission. They know they can pull off a lot of scammy stuff doing it this way. Once you leave and think about it you will see their full of it. Some of us don't have the money to pay someone to look at a car every time we look at one. On my fixed income, it took a little over 2 years for me to save the $900 I used to buy my van, I did ask a few places if they would look but they wanted $$$ .I got lucky my auto has lasted a few years, but now is having problems,I have about $50 saved toward buying a new one,I don't really see me being able to be picky or have many choices in what I get. So it's not always a person's choice to not have someone look at it or pick a newer car.Shoot my last van was the first time I had one in the 2000's.

On my list of scum bags. There is one below lawyers and that is a car salesman. The buyer got just what he paid for. ALWAYS GET A INDEPENDENT PRE-PURCHASE INSPECTION.
The sales person will tell you anything to make the sale.

Always take used cars to YOUR mechanic BEFORE buying it. It will ALWAYS be worth it to pay them $100-200 to check it to avoid buying a clunker. If the seller won't let you do that DO. NOT. BUY. THAT. CAR.

You should have a mechanic inspect a car before you buy it, not afterwards. It may cost you $100-$200 but it's money well spent. It's better than spending $10k down the road. In most jurisdictions, any used car sold without a written warranty is considered an 'as is' purchase, buyer beware.
