Any ways just wanted to give you a friendly tip, I’m a qualified diesel technician with more than ten years in the field. I’ve got drag cars, burnout cars, blown, turboed, big hp ls, go karts, bikes and trucks, every thing automotive pretty much.. so my point is my advice is based on many years of experience in every aspect of motoring, and years and years of technical knowledge from my own experience and what I’ve spent learning about doing take courses for apprenticeships and many others I’ve chosen to pursue for my ownen benefit and knowledge.
After you peel a set of the rears and run it down to the steelies like that and get it that hot the pipes are glowing, what ever you do bro do not turn that car off!!! What happens is the water then is not circulating through the cooling system therefore stops and either sits still in the red hot engine at temperatures up to 100 degrees, or evaporate and Will star boiling and not cooling down. This will then causes either you’re heads to crack on an engine that is fitted with cast iron heads, you’re heads to warp and also crack on heads that are fired that are made from alloy, engine blocks to if the block is cast iron all sorts of other problems with alloy engines as well like seezing the water pump, blowing the heater tap, blowing a head gasket ect ect.. Then just like the engine, the radiator also does the exact same thing and can either crack the tanks or bust the radiator cap off and blow the hoses to. So if you’re going to do this on numerous occasions in the future then I would recommend to get a radiator cap with a higher temperature pressure release, spring rating. Fit the cheapest alloy rad you can find, a thicker one helps to but isn’t important.
DO NOT TURN OFF THE CAR! Let the water circulate through the cooling system and won’t then boil in the engine and evaporating causing excess amounts of steam which will cause your rad to drop its nuts, rad hoses to expand and explode, and engine to blow head gaskets, over heat and fail.
The radiator thermo fans will run continuously until the car drops below the temperature threshold thats set to activate the fans, therefore cooling the air being sucked through by the fans from the outside of the car, cooling the water that’s being circulated through the rad and the engine and save your engine from going to heaving and meeting Rod! 😅😅😁😁
Hope this little bit of friendly advice and guidance will be a helpful knowledge for you in the future dude and extending the life span of you’re sleds and giving you more memories of skids with the oysies! 🤙🤙
