Me too!! this makes it just more realistic, I feel sad for people's home and hope everyone got out before the explosion, I just can't imagine living once right un top of a volcanic fissure.
Crazy I went there for vacation and less then 3 weeks after I left it happened. I remember going to the museum down by the volcano and it was poring down rain.
wow. I feel sorry and pity for all who had to leave their home, who had lost their home to Lava. Last time I used Google Earth to locate Fissure 8 I now see that I wasn't precise enough. Still, my question: Was fissure 8, the whole line of fissures predictable? What made the earth break apart there, and lets say, not 3 streets farther to the east, or south? Wat made the lava go there and not go to the south directly?
An earth quake and 8 degrees of slope, in short.. That whole place was steaming for years and years before this new faze i'm talking about all of Puna..

My heart goes out to those people who lost their homes. I send big hugs.
With that icon I would never have guessed you had a heart
Powerful video and bravo to USGS for the content. Music was maybe a bit much, but I guess dramatic like the photos.
exactly. I almost expected a jump scare at the end or something.
I've been wondering what exactly was located at fissure 8 before its appearance. This video answered that question.

What about, before coastline and after coastline? I want to see the added acreage.
Outstanding video thank you so much ❤️

Thanks for the video! :)
The images are good and I waited patiently but I turned off the volume 🙄 after 15 sec
The cymbal crash in space sound @1:09 was startling...
Mahalo!
Big thumbs up 👍 from Oppenheimer Ranch
Amazingly Powerful. Oh my God in heaven.

Sorry for Leilani people 😔😔😔
God bless you 🤘
Mahalo 😍😍😍
So what is going on south east of Pahala? 20km data suggests magma movement there coming off the plume.
Awesome, music perfect for me
Wow! Thank Que! Stay Safe!
Good job PELE!!!!!
Lose the the 'creepy music"!!
It's October sooooo Halloween music
The power of the earth is amazing.
how people keep building houses ON TOP of kilauea's east rift zone is beyond me. kapoho and kalapana wasn't enough?
Fissure 8 came up right below a house.
Mother nature has come back
Wow!
Woo 420th like am i.. may the force be with you. Poor people living by a volcano. It was bound to happen though it is a volcano...
Cue over dramatic spooky music.....
Unreal
Man, Kapoho is just *gone*
Obliterated
Video would have better with narrative information. Distracting loud annoying music ruined the importance of the video. 😒
❤
The way of nature. :(
Mother nature don't play no bullshit.
How sad...
😥
Cooper Hun,,that brought Tears to my 👀! I'm Speechless! Did You All Know they've just "ReOpened" Visitors Center!?¿ Insanely Stupid!
I can't like this video...
Just show the video instead of overlaying idiotic emotional sound to add "sensation". It's the result of volcanic activity, we get it.
Sure glad you were able to find that horrible music to go with the otherwise awesome reality of loss.

burrvisiontv-Uhh, no one. Your Bronze Age goat herder god is a joke.
Da Braddah so you don't Believe in a Higher Authority?
burrvisiontv-Certainly not a Bronze Age goat herder who has his sheep kill, maim and destroy the lives of innocent people.
After the devastation was over from fissure 8 this is what allah looks like, dead like the false god he is.
Piss off, Muslim!
This is simply the planet acting like a planet.
Your non-existing god has zero involvement in this.
horrible music. Remember this is Mother Nature in action.
Music sux
