Just bought a 300 PRC Seekins Hunter for long range hunting and stumbled across your video. Very interested in seeing part two. I think you got everybody going when you showed a clip from part two. Please set it up for us!
xlr magnesium 4 chasis with carbon buttstock and grip 28 oz, 1000$. anti action 21 oz, 1000$ carbonsix sandero barrel 24inch 45 oz 700$ total: 5.8 lbs and 2700$ Or can save ~1200 bucks and increasing weight to like ~7.2 lbs by going to mack bros action ~580$ and krg bravo chassis ~350$. Though can save a bit weight by going with featherweight barrel, and even save more by going to 22 inch.
Surprised you didn’t put fierce on the list. The rival has a carbon fiber barrel and a carbon fiber stock with adjustable cheek piece and it’s known for shooting 1/2 moa consistently
I filmed it 3 years ago. The Fierce wasn’t really super prevalent at that time. Might be a good idea for a follow-up video someday. Thanks for the suggestion.
These guys really like to talk you into blowing all your money. I'm 68 years old and don't do much hunting anymore. But in-the day I could take a relatively low cost not cheap or poorly built rifle, (and I won't mention the name of brands cause there are lots out there) then put a little work into them. The results. A rifle shooting a group you could fit a dime or nickel between bullet shoots. Another thing. Caliber cartridge you use to hunt really matters in what game you're hunting. Being what I am & you can tell by my age. I was a big fan of 30-06. because of the wide range of bullet weights styles. Now I have many calibers. From .22 to .338. Bottom line how much do these idiots think most normal people make for a living. The prices on these guns are absurd.
here's what i came up with lone peak fuzion Ti SA proof 24" 1:7.5 sendero patriot valley arms jet blast ultra light brake triggertech special ag composites adjustable hunter stock no bipod or optic it's around 7.25lbs
I felt 1 in local shop this week and was the worst action I’ve ever felt…put a $800 barrel on a cheap stock and absolutely the grittiest, stickiest bolt I’ve ever felt. Looked good to the eye all spiral fluted but junk…and heard same from a custom rifle builder…
Had the 6.5prc waypoint 5mons handloadin for it and testin loads and fir $2200 I shot a .18” 3rd group@100yrds with $114 Walmart simmons mounted till I get the zeco 840…logged every round so we’ll see how many hot rds a 24” bsf carbon barrel will take
I would be very interested in a video taking a gun with an accuracy guarantee and testing that out with factory ammo. Do they specify what ammo? As a reloader I kind of chuckle at these guarantees with all the variables involved.
I TOTALLY agree! They're kind of a joke really, the guarantee that is. Typically they designate they have to be shot with match grade rounds like Hornady Match, Federal Gold, etc.... The guarantee however is the easiest benchmark to at least get an initial understanding of how accurate the gun should inherently be. Thanks for watching, brother!
I know im late to the game here, but i picked up a Savage 110 ultralight in 280ai for the same reasons you are or were looking at. I handload for it, my best load is 0.25 moa and with most bullets i can easily keep it under 0.5 moa. I actually shot it in a benchrest comp. Last year!
One I felt this week was pitiful….I was shocked..I wanted to like it but you’d have to have no feeling and blind to miss the grit and stickiness..and heard it from another custom rifle builder so put them off my list…sucks I was on the savage train…stick to ol 700 pattern and buildin my old 7mag eventually maybe to 7saum
@@charlesmullins3238 - i agree with you. Although i did strip the entire gun, bolt assembly and trigger assembly down, degreased and actually polished everything. Including removing the paint on the bolt and reciever.. much smoother and great trigger. I have tikkas that are glass smooth
@@ez7977 uncle has 2 b14’s one in creedmore one in .300wm both are smoothest I’ve felt so far and was in rt for a hmr but that carbon stock and barrel on this waypoint for $2200 is a steal if you price each component..2020 action only thing can’t put a price on I guess…triggertech is awesome
Have you looked at the Xbolt Max long Range? It’s 8 pounds no accuracy guarantee, but most reviews show up MOA, has the adjustable cheek piece and only costs about thousand dollars. Just a thought for cost effective option.
Not an imitation manners stock, it's AG Composites stock on the way point. They are super great stuff. I love my manners stock for prs style stuff. For light weight hunting AG is absolutely top notch stuff.
You bet…my 6.5prc will be slung climbin these eastern Ky hills this season…been shootin it handloadin 5mons gettin used to a LW rifle…my dd5v3.308 go bout 17-18lb and drive nails….
I can't get behind a 6.5 Creedmoor being a good long range HUNTING rifle, it just doesn't have the velocity past 400 yards to create the energy needed. It can be done I've seen it but imo you should go with the PRC or even better a 7 SAUM.
My choice also..but goin 6.5prc this yr and next maybe have my 7mag done up…130gamechangers@3250fps will make up for the creeds lower velocities…I’ve got 140vld…tmk…eldm…runnin 3050fps..h1000/magpro…135gr a tips with n560 Put 3 in same hole…the 153s just under 1” all they’d do..
The answer was the Weatherby Accumark base model in the context of hunting. Beyond this yes you could choose to spend more but the value-cost ratio just isn't there. You can still find those around $1600, they come with a Criterion barrel and Bell stock. The next closest would be a Christiansen Arms, perhaps an MPR at ~$2200. I've owned both and have a custom in the proof price range.
I know I'm late to see this video but I'd love to ask. What is the scope. I've been looking to buy a good long range scope but every scope from 200 dollars and up say their great glass. Lol so I'm curious to know you're using to do such great groups.
Not really... it’s more of a 1:1 If you have shit gear, it doesn’t matter how good the shooter is, they aren’t going to do great. It’s all about consistency from both sides.
for the price stop the creedmor bullshit BUY 338 LAPUA reload your own never miss a shot with best tightest groupings only cheytak can match!! otherwise 30-06 cheap and with proper set blows even creedmore its all money baby!!!!!! 1000 round x rifle x licenses x practice time!!
your comp rifle is positively delicious. Nicely done I must say i got massive respect for the dismissive style of the "and a scope ontop" with the TT 😁
Seriously? Your 6mm GT came in under 12lb. Your looking at something in 7lb range. No offence but most of us could easily drop 5-10lbs and get into much better condition and carry our comp rifles for hunting. I take all the weight out of MDT ACC 6.5creedmoor and out I go. But I’m all for buying a new rifle lol 🤙
Hey All, I haven't forgotten about this series. The Part 2 video has been done basically since the release of this first one...there are some legal reasons I can't release it. I'm trying to work through those. Sorry for your frustrations....I'll release the video as soon as I feel that's a possibility.
Almost a year now, and we are still very interested in knowing what you came up with!
Maybe he ended up spending all his money on coke and hookers. 🤣
We need PART2!!!
