CHOOSE LIVING | By Steven Thank you bud!
I am both angry and saddened that there was no integration at your school, David. In 1983, at the age of 12, my old school joined a new purpose built resource, which was built as an extension to the secondary school, which the SEN Department was part of. I started to integarate with the first year (as it was then!) art and drama lessons. Six months later, with three days notice, I was integrated full time with the rest of the form in mainstream. I just went into the Unit for physio, and for my lunch. As well as my new friends in 1B, it was important to me to still see my fellow disabled peers. The only lesson I didn't do in mainstream was P.E. I would do Domestic Science (Food Technology!) or Sewing as a substitute, which I enjoyed. I also went swimmimg on a wekly basis, with my peers with disabilities; as well as Horse Riding, to improve my posture.Well done again, Jon. This is a brilliant video. :)
