I think that it's not at all possible to even have a barometer of what beautiful sounds/song or piece of music because everyone listens to music differently, so what's beautiful to my ears might not be to the next guy or gal. The musicians best barometer is his own ear. If it sounds good to you then it IS, for you

Well done Natalie!

I’d love to see a video on how to record these loops, and then how to take the loops and construct a full track. Improv is only stage 1, how do you go from that to the finished track?
I agree! This video was great as it gave me confidence in my approach to improv and jamming. It’s the next step, finishing things, that I struggle with.
i do not understand how you got such a great classic tone out of what i assume is a new ms-20? i never have liked the new ones. the vintage sounds best to me... and i love working with pedals and synths and i LOVE this video, it is inspiring! if my studio weren’t currently dismantled i’d be playing right now!

Outstanding. One of the best videos by Reverb in a long time. Conceptually and performance. Can I ask how you integrate the looper into your signal chain. I use a Ditto X4 and I’ve experimented with it on the master outs of the mixer, in the aux send bus, n the guitar or synth only. I haven’t found THE perfect place to use it every time. Fine for studio work where I can break down each setup between each song, but not for live.
Thanks! I run all of my instruments/mics through a mixer, then run the mixer out into effects pedals, then pedals out into my looper, then final out is from the looper. I've done Aux/bus, too! But yeah, thats my most recent set up.
Natalie Chami Thanks for the reply. Sounds like I’m on the right track then. I wonder if you ever use drum machines or anything that has internal sequencing that kinda interferes with the whole looping setup. That was always my obstacle. I guess a two mixer setup might solve that with the drum machines/sequencers on one channel and the looped synth sub-mix on another channel. Oh well, what’s more money and space when a rocking setup is at stake
Mad Mac 66 I do, but of course it’s tricky. If I end up looping a sequence, I just have to record it into the looper perfectly in time and then stop the sequence as soon as the loop starts playing back. It’s not ideal lol but I do it sometimes. Kinda silly. I only do it if I need to use the same instrument (like the mother32) as both a sequencer and something else. Or like you said, if the sequence is going first and everything’s in the same mixer... can really record loops without also recording the sequence, too. But yeah sounds like we’re on the same page!
@@NatalieChami Hey Natalie, sorry if this is a dumb question but are you running the stereo outs of the mixer into the pedals some way, or are you just running a mono signal? Love your style and synth collection, cheers ☺️
@@EmThePenguin Hey Emily, I'm not running any of my synths in stereo, so no, I'm actually just running a mono xlr out of my mixer into my pedals and some of my pedals are running stereo out into my looper, but tbh I'm not doing much with stereo in the end out of my looper, so eh, short answer is mostly mono.
