LYRICS:
I was a stone's throw from happiness
Feeling love grow in your caress
It was like nothing I had felt or seen
And I waited impatiently
Oh, stone's throw
And I can't stand to see you go
You hurt me bad, cut me down
But it just don't work without you
Without you around
It was a short walk
Now it's a lonely ride
It turned my day
Into a lifeless night
It was my belief and
Now it's my regret
I've got a one way ticket
That I can't accept
Oh, just a stone's throw
And I can't stand to see you go
You hurt me bad
You cut me down
But it just don't work without you
Without, without, without
Without you around
Oh, stone's throw
And I can't stand to see you go
You hurt me bad, cut me down
But it just don't work without you
Gotta have you around
Gotta have you around

Wow, never heard this song....Heep could be what ever they wanted to be. This is lovely....
This is the first time I've heard anything from this album. Where in the hell was I to not hear it? I've been listening to this band non stop all day! Guess what....I'm going to listen to them all night 🌙 too!!!!
Uriah heep super.
As usual, great slide work by Ken. Wish the band had finished this demo and included it on Wonderworld instead of "We Got We".
Waooo. Why was not included on Wonderworld. Even though the band was touring heavely, they seemed to create several more songs that were left off the album. Like this one very.much; it has a Led Zeppelin III album.feel.
It was sad when the origanal leed singer was killed in the race car,in the eightys. I folowed Uriah heep from the early 70s...( David Byron),Then lately John Lawton. RIP
