Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! I was looking for a way to create a wire clamp. Found the the ClampTite method with the tool. Looked grea, unfortunately I needed the wire clamp tonight. You saved the day, great video, great idea.
I love my Clamptite. I have the CLT01L. I have used it for just about everything but hoses. Lol. Planning on upgrading to their CLT07L and maybe even the CLT09 for that do anything god mode status.
This has been used in critical aircraft hoses and other areas where other clamps are not approved. These will not vibrate loose. I cut through tubing with this.
You 'Set' the wire into the hose originally with the Clamp tite, then merely used the original 'set' to illustrate you alternative method. It would be more useful to use only your alternative method from the 'get go' as a better comparison. Cheers from Michael. Australia.
True it's one of those things that is simple enough to make your own. Depending on how you value your time and the materials / tools you have it might be better to make your own. I am really happy with the plier method so far but I haven't tried it enough to know for sure yet.
I think that the difference between the clamptite and the DIY system would become more obvious under pressure testing. Just because a pipe cant be pulled over the flange doesn't mean that it will not leak.

This video got me home today. Thanks for your advice.
You saved my time and life today
Glad I could help.
Thks, tomorrow I'll give it a try with right-angle needle nose pliers.

Nice idea. Thank you, sir.
So what does the back of the tool look like? How does it tighten up? Can’t see how you’re using the tool.
Nevermind, I seen the setup afterwards.

I made my own clamptightalike, 15 minutes with the angle grinder...

Second method wastes less wire. I do it all the time.
All I need is a pair of 150.00 pliers
Careful. You're starting to squeak a bit. Just saying.
