Wow, that's a beautiful monster! I've been running Traegers for 25 years, bought my first Recteq, a 380X and love it. Might be trying another Recteq soon.
Had a Traeger Tin can terrible won't hold temp at all after 2 years gave it away. Buying the redesigned RT1070 coming out in June/July 2024 drop in Stainless steel Grill. God's Blessings Go Recteq.
Looks great. Seems to be pretty sturdy. How much does it weigh in at. I've been smoking and grilling for over 30 years using offset smokers. I'm ready to enter the world of pellet smoking. Several of my friends have pellets ranging from traeger, to pit boss. Only one has a recteq. From conversation with them, rectec has the best customer service. How long have you been using rectec, and what are your thoughts. I don't do competition cooking, just family and friends out having a good time.
We’ve been using RecTeq’s for about 3 years. Their quality, warranty and customer service is second to none. This unit weighs about 600lbs. It moves easily due to the competition cart that comes with it.
Great video. I am going to go look at a used one here real soon. Curious for transporting it home - what is the height of it without the smoke stacks on it-want to make sure it will fit in my cargo van to get it home. Thanks
I have a PitBoss 1600 and the thing I hate about it is how amazingly long it takes to heat up. Would you please tell me how quickly this will get up to 220 and 350 degrees?
I’m fairly new to grilling I used to have a charcoal grill but the grates rusted out so I scrapped it. I miss getting, but don’t know much about grilling but what I do know is I definitely want a Recteq pellet grill instead of the cheap Lowe’s charcoal grill I use to have. Do you have any videos of you grilling on this beast?
I would love to talk to you about your luck in competitions with this. I’ve done a few with my 700. My thinking is with the 2500 I could use the shelves to get a little farther from the heat source on my brisket. On your comp brisket are you hot and fast?
@@BigDaddysBBQPit Thanks for the reply. I ordered one and it should be in soon. Glad to hear you are competing on the recteq's. Any words of advice on the BFG?
I’m looking at getting this model. Is there any issue with too much temperature variation in different areas of the grill? Do you have to rotate the meat when doing a large cook? I’ve seen other reviewers add high heat gaskets to secure the lid better where smoke wont escape. Did you have to do that? Thank you.
I have not noticed too much of a change. I cooked for a large group of people once and had 28 racks of St Louis ribs on it. I did rotate between the shelves, from top to bottom. I have not added any gaskets to either of my Rec Teq’s. I don’t think it is something they recommend.
Your going to wish you got a different smoker i have that its literally an oven look really cool its huje but i just does not smoke. At this price point i would get a mm barq or the pits and spits.
What an beautiful smoker

Get a mm barq it actually smokes
I don’t have any complaints with mine at this point, and I compete with it.

It’s about 50 inches tall without the smoke stacks. Thank you for watching!

Actually I have never timed it. Next time I cook on it I will and let you know!
Hope it works well for you, seen a few get rid of it for lack of smoke.
So far so good. We’ve done briskets, beef ribs and made homemade bacon on it. Smoke was no different than my RT700.
I don’t need a grill this big but I want this grill so bad!!!
Nobody needs a smoker this big... but we buy it anyway!! Just in case all 3 generations of your family suddenly show up at your Doorstep. 😂
It is great for large crowds!

Nice it would go good with my 680 and 590

Hi, thank you for watching. I compete in GBA and we only cook shoulder, ribs and loin. So I haven’t did a competition brisket on the 2500.
We do cook it hot and fast but I have only used the RT700 for brisket.

What’s the measurement between the racks?
Bro...mine arrives Wednesday.
Very nice!
What a beaut!

Mine has smoked fine, with zero issues. Good smoke flavor and smoke rings.
Abay chance you can say how many butts it can actually fit. Thanks!
I would say 16-18 depending on the size. I’ve had 6 on the lower rack for competition.
That is one bad mofo
completely unnecessary and isn't warranted with my lifestyle which means I'm ordering it asap
