Honestly way worse than asteroids. With asteroids we can at least have the dart program to use for defense. But a rogue planet? We would have to go crazy on the nukes.
"Nancy Grace Roman" telescope? I've never heard of this! Thanks for working hard to educate us viewers who love space and stars and stuff! Take care and be safe!
ABSOLUTELY. A little context... Nancy Grace Roman (pronounced "Roman"; May 16, 1925 - December 25, 2018) was an American astronomer who made important contributions to stellar classification and motions. The first female executive at NASA, Roman served as NASA's first Chief of Astronomy throughout the 1960s and 1970s, establishing her as one of the "visionary founders of the US civilian space program".[1]
Some reasons for them thrown out would be unstable orbits that sling them out over time, collisions with other bodies, or just the plant formed too far from any star and its just continuing the momentum it formed in. Comment if you know more, id like to hear
it could be that while it was in orbit of an object, some bigger object came along and like, it was stuck being pulled between the 2 gravitational fields, and then it wouldn't lock on to either of them and just, like, float away... Idk how to explain it, saw this happen on a universe sandbox vid once 😁
I find it unlikely a planet would have collided with something so big it made it’s orbit unstable but somehow evidence of life still shows. I think the plant would look like the moon or smth if it was knocked out of orbit
Fun fact: There used to be 1 or 2 gas giants in our solar system but they were ejected into rouge planets Their names were 5th giant and 6th giant because we haven’t found a name for them yet
Rogue planet just casually going through our solar system: hey guys. Probably mars: hey ma- wait a minute. Who tf are you?! Probably earth: A NEW PLANET! LETS EXPLORE IT WITH SPACE TECHNOLOGY!

It's just so weird thinking that right now, there are many Earth-like planets that are highly habitable but have nobody on them. Literally a giant habitable planet in the middle of infinite cosmos with no life (that we know of) on them. It's just sad that we might actually never be there

If we do happen to get to one, we need to look for signs of life that were potentially there. Fossils, plants, footprints of any kind, buildings (would confirm it), etc.
How creepy would it be to find an alien civilization frozen in time after have been kicked out of their solar system. That would make for a cool science fiction book....
I just realized that on some planets that nasa may think are habitable could have life that we can’t see since we are so many light years away so we could be seeing before there was life
