    This is the first time I actually have delved into DID. And the more I get to learn about it, the more I see how strong all of you are. I struggle with my college roommates, I can't even fathom the idea of having to share everyday 24/7 each day of the year. You are awesome. Thank you for letting me understand all of you somehow via videos. Thanks to you I am sure I will be able to help or be there for someone who I love that is going through something similar. Thank you!

  • @abilevitt3334

    I would add that if you're witnessing your partner dealing with rough situations like flashbacks or any kind of self harm, that it's really important for you to get some professional support for yourself as well, to help you maintain healthy boundaries and take care of yourself too. Witnessing someone's trauma can actually potentially cause secondary trauma so it's really important that you know yourself and your own triggers as well and that you have support for yourself too. Being intimately involved with someone dealing with such serious challenges means you really have to take care of yourself to be able to be there for them and to make sure your relationship is mutual and healthy and that you're not getting hurt or burnt out by the intensity that can come with that.

    What if one alter very much dislikes the significant other?
    What if 1 alter wants to date another specific person that isn't the hosts significant other? (Assuming everyone/the significant other isn't comfortable with a "poly relationship")
    What happens when one alter dislikes or is angry with another alter?? How is conflict handled between alters?
    Would your system want your significant other to sit down with your therapist one day to learn? (About your system, the disorder, how to engage properly etc)
    What if the alter that is in the relationship hasn't fronted in a while (I guess multiple days or so) and the significant other wants to see them again? Are they able to ask the alters that have been fronting lately where a specific alter is/how they're doing/if they can come front?
    Hello to Nin at the end! Thanks for popping in😆💗

    • @gabbygonzalez7991
      @gabbygonzalez7991 2 роки тому +28

      Every system is different, but I have experience with larger systems and what I can say is respect for each individual's boundaries should go above everything else. With that in mind, I also think poly is more or less mandatory to respect the rights of individuals in a system where different alters want different people. In my experience, if I'm missing an alter, like I haven't seen them in a minute and I want to, I may ask whoever is fronting if they've seen/heard from x, but I never go beyond that. As far as inner system conflict goes, you can certainly talk to an alter as if you were a friend giving advice, but you shouldn't tell them what to do. Anything beyond that should be dealt with a therapist

    • @annafantasia
      @annafantasia 2 роки тому +4

      "Would your system want your significant other to sit down with your therapist one day to learn? (About your system, the disorder, how to engage properly etc)" Just a note that most of this wouldn't be possible, as client confidentiality is paramount to therapists and they wouldn't share anything about your significant other with you. The only thing you could perhaps do is get an overview of DID in general, or book a session with the same therapist to discuss your own experience and feelings. :)

    I tried dating a system before. I learned all about DID from this channel and it really impressed the system. Unfortunately long distance was too much for the system but this channel helped me so much in understanding DID and the system I was dating at the time. The system agreed to only date one person at a time so I knew I was dating the system. The system I was dating didn’t want to be overwhelmed by dating many at once.

    i like how most of the advice is to basically talk to one-another. communication is great, and very much needed, trait in a relationship with anyone. communication also involves listening. because if one person isn’t listening, and only speaking, it’s not communication, it’s a lecture, it’s a (school) lesson. communication is speaking and listening from all parties. this channel is very informative and i love to learn about people’s minds and the ways they think and develop. the human brain is truly amazing

    My mother has at least 4 alters that she knows of and she just descovered this about 7 years ago and it started with just one alter brenda and i believe after watching your channel for almost 12 hours now i believe she is a prosecutor over the past few years others alters have come forth ironically she has a sally and she is just like sally she comforts her and us then she has a little and one other she has yet to share their name with us i sent her a link to your channel i believe this is going to help her i know it has educated me and helped me understand her and her system better

    Thanks Sally, that was so interesting and informative. I have a question: what might happen if one Alter wants to date a person, but another Alter doesn't like that person?

    You know you're a true DissociaDID fan if you don't need the person fronting to introduce themselves at the beginning of every video. Sally has such a soothing presence you could never mistake her for anybody else

    I am just playing it in the background, because I watched those videos before, and I want my views to matter, even if only a little bit.
    Comment mainly for algorithm.
    But also sending much love and support to Your system! Take care of yourself :)

    What happens if you’re dating one alter and they integrate with another alter during the relationship, are you basically going back to asking a new person out, or could the relationship possibly still be going on, but different?

    Could one alter have a mental disability such as ADHD or dyslexia while other alters don't?

    • @yuioptao
      @yuioptao 2 роки тому +9

      Yes, because they are diffent people, so an alter could go through trauma and develop PTSD, or depression for example

    • @that1fangrl
      @that1fangrl 2 роки тому +4

      @@yuioptao well, but mental illness and neuro-divergency are a little different. I'm not informed in the field, but i thought adhd for example is not something you develop but rather something you've always had

      since ADHD is something you are born with, I don't think an alter can "develop" that disorder, same with dyslexia I believe. But things that can develop during life I think those can work

      The body has ADHD, it's neurological. Dyslexia, maybe
