First, thank you for taking the time and effort to give us the recipe link! I have gotten so frustrated in the past when I think of a recipe that I saw *somewhere on UA-cam and when I finally remember where, discover (after going back through the entire video), that they didn't mention ingredient amounts nor link the recipe.
Second, It was good to see the whole family, including Lilly's legs. She (and any other furbabies) need to make more cameos. 😊
You're doing a great job so far. Thanks for keeping it real by showing the meals/dishes that turned out good as well as those that were not as successful. Looking forward to the next video.

Thank you for trying another apple butter recipe. This one has promise for me...all I'd have to do is swap something different for the sage and eliminate the brown sugar as you suggested. Hubby isn't a fan of apple butter so if it isn't noticeable...win, win! Thank you for keeping this challenge going. Today for our snowy weather I have a small batch of cheeseburger soup in a small crock pot. Smells good, crossing fingers!

I've been really enjoying the pantry challenge this year also. It has made me step out of my box and be a bit more inventive with cooking! The oat bread looks wonderful. I think it may have been Jessica who said she never washes her bread pan just wipes out any crumbs and it is makes it not stick after several bakes of bread. I tried it with my pan and it definitely worked for me!

Oh I will try that! I keep forgetting I have a cast iron bread pan I've never tried! 🤣 I will be breaking that out next week!

You are almost over the hump for the challenge Lynn. I have been baking bread and making soup in this cold weather. You are very inspiring on meal planning.

I'm really enjoying your videos...LOL, I was going to tell you he was stealing your hot chocolate again...LOL. The oatmeal bread, I'm scared to make it since I'm trying to loose weight and I'm kinda an oatmeal addict.

Fold it like a LETTER, not an Envelope. Lay it flat, fold one third, then fold the other third on top of that. There's your loaf. Works great.

If you are the only one who eats chicken, can it in half pints. I think that's the same size as a small can.
BUT ... if that's the only thing you use it for, you're missing out on a lot of good eating. Soups, stews, casseroles, fried rice, stir fries, etc.
My favotite is Chicken Spaghetti. It's a little prep-intensive, but you can take short steps(frozen veggies instead of fresh ... thawed or chop fresh the day before).
Cook 1 pound of spaghetti and set aside.
In large pot, mix a can of Cream of Chicken and Cream of Mushroom (add a can of Cheddar Cheese soup if not using Velveeta),plus a soup can of half and half. Add a can of chicken broth.Stir together until well combined. Set aside.
In a skillet, over medium heat, heat a couple of Tbsp. of butter and a couple of Tbsp. of oil and saute a medium onion with 1/2 bag of frozen peas and carrots, a can of Rotel and 8 oz. sliced mushrooms. Pour into soup mixture and place on medium-low heat. If using, add about 8 oz. Velvetta cheese and heat until melted stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. Add chicken (I use a pint ... add more if you want)
Pour over spaghetti and mix well.
Pour mixture into large greased baking dish. Top with shredded Cheddar cheese. Bake, covered, at 375 for about an hour until bubbly.
NOTE : THIS IS HOW I MAKE IT. I DON'T ALWAYS MEASURE PRECISELY AND USE WHAT I HAVE ON HAND. I SALT MY PASTA WATER, BUT DON'T FEEL THAT ANY OTHER ADDED SALT IS NEEDED. YMMV. 😊

Home canned chicken doesn't taste anything like store canned chicken. It also can be used just like you would use any left over chicken or turkey....not just for chicken salad sandwiches. Seeing how the flavor and texture is so different you might find the family actually likes it.

I might give it a try next month! I have a plan to can some more meat, so might as well do some ugly chicken! 🤣
