Good first impression Walk around. I have an 850 back country. And I love it. Is fantastic trail sled, Off trail sled, Is high mileage cruiser. It is quick and nimble, but for pure a Pure adrenaline rush it is not replacing the old school muscle sleds.
My polaris boost with aftermarket tune and clutching will beat any stock sled ever made. Totally stock it was decent. slightly faster than an na 850. Now it is no comparison. The only adrenaline rush i get from old triples is trying not to die from how terrible they handle or do anything properly compared to a new sled. They are decently fast across a lake when setup right. Typically hard to hook up from a stop as well. One trick ponys. They do sound really good though
Do you have a draggy for tunning the boost? Nostalgia and great memories has you bring the old sleds out. And then after a few minutes it's like nope going back to the new one. Old ones are setup for radar running.
I thought you said the boost has an aftermarket tune and clutching. I will ride my ski doo every day over the old sleds, but the old sleds are still king of speed. Trail stock thundercat is 114 mph in 1000' stock turbo sleds are not close. I ported an x c r 800 engine for a guy. Otherwise, stock sled ran 106 mph in 660 feet. Go get a draggy, they are cheap and a fun tool to have. When your buddy is telling you how fast his sled is, put it on his sled and tell him to go for a rip. The numbers show up on your phone.
Hi Pete, only put on 1300km last season, so far no issues at all. Only recall was the left ski, but mine did not have a bad ski. Time will tell, its not boosted that much so I would think it will be as reliable as my 2019 850. If something goes wrong this season i will do a Video. But its a dream to drive. Its like a F1 type feeling and handling. Sharp and powerful.
Yeah his is just a normal 850 polaris, however my normal 850 doo, is faster, I did a video a few years back, the doo beats the poo 9/10 times heads up. And in a pure timed GPS 1/4 mile, its mathmatically faster. Here is the vid with actual GPS times ua-cam.com/video/tHrZx2wjOlY/v-deo.html
@@ADAMLS1240SX Thanks for replying. Snowmobiling can change your life with your friends out in the wild nature. It’s been two years since I moved to Florida. City life sucks. Enjoy this way you can or moved to a mountain like Colorado has some awesome snowmobiling. Be safe out there
Just for the record, I took my snowmobile back up to my performance guy 900 turbo R I’m ready for race three Adam I was told it wasn’t set up properly like to try that one more time hopefully you’re at a break-in
Sure we can go again. I have to figure out how to use the launch feature. once the engine is broken in. I think if we went a full 1/4 mile+ your 4 stroke would eventually take the 850 up top end. Its really not a drag machine. My old f1100 turbo was a drag beast.
Have not had the chance to go up against a boost. But had a few drags against a 900 turbo and took it 2 for 2. That was heads up which does not mean much however. We did not have any gps times.
Mxz turbo was never fast they are just Good small jumpers.....ad a little juice to and look out it's good for 100hp boost... the motor Will take it on Small Hits.....
G5s are basically the same sleds as 21+ G4s. Yeah Different body panels, shocks, brake, 4th motor mount but really same chassis and suspension
Same rear suspension but the front is different. Handles much better

Right on brother keep us updated I’m thinking about that machine for spring order. Maybe I don’t need the turbo. I have a 17 renegade 850X now
It is a fun sled however :) Dont get me wrong its fast.... but is it worth the extra coin?

Nice sled. How long are the picks you put in.
1.325" length , its just for safety on ice. Its not meant to be a drag set up or anything like that.
We know its an awesome machine, what we want to know is what will break and what needs updating?

Gary, what did they have to change? Boost setting?
You notice the torque of turbo when you are climbing or in deep snow. I think you will see a big difference then.
Yeah, I have to test up up top on a lake, where the extra power will make a difference.
Will you make another Review after Break in?
Yep, will also get GPS 1/4 mile times on a lake to see how fast it actually is. (Its faster than 11.9, since my regular 850 does that)

Your front shocks looks to be in the hard setting in the video
They are not , the knob actually wraps around past the center counterclockwise in the soft. So they look like they could be on the hard setting.
From all the video I saw,it’s still behind the 900R and the Polaris 850 turbo.

That shock on the right side is in the hard position, not soft!
No, the knob just wraps around past the lower mid portion. its full counter clockwise.

There no difference in the rear suspension other than yours has the comp package better shocks and some bracing

Yeah after a whole season on it, it is a rocket.. a real super car of the sled world. Its just a fantastic handling and performing trail sled.
